HIGHLIGHT Incised 3 1/2" Crescent Bannerstone, Haldeman Island, Dauphin Co., PA. Found on Haldeman Island (836 total acres) in Dauphin Co., PA in the early 1950's by Mr. Titus Enders. This is highly incised including cross hatch/weave/grid patterns as well as zig-zag and horizontal/vertical lines. Titus stated the following on this piece: "I wasn't even going to go that morning. It ended up being the 1st plow of the season after a rain. I remember seeing them (animals) rigged up to the plows on that island. This day I was hunting the northeastern end where there was a larger high-spot on the island. I found this bannerstone mostly on top of the dirt within the plow marks. Lots of great peices came from that area. This was one of my best finds". Comes with original box it was housed in since it was found.

HIGHLIGHT Huge 6 7/8" Ashtabula/Sus Broad Point- Gloucester Co., NJ, 1936, Ex: Savidge. Great history on this beauty. Found by Ms. DiMatter on the Dimatter Farm on Delsea Drive in the town of Malaga in Gloucester Co., NJ in 1936. This flintridge material has been imported into the state demonstrating the vast trade network during the transitional period. The style represents an Ashtabula type with a "hint" of Susquehanna Broadpoint style. There is a stone defect impacting the base of the point as well as ancient tip bur/sliver off the side of the tip (see close up pictures). The tulip pipe was found on the strickler site on 5/12/1989. It was restored by Dr. Gomer in 2015. The bowl and 1 1/4" of the stem below the bowl is original, the rest of the elbow and stem have been restored. Shows very well!

HIGHLIGHT Best of Best 4" Serpentine Shiled Bannerstone, Lancaster Co., PA, Incsised. Stunning piece, measures 4" tall x 3 3/4" wide. There is a large amount of ancient incising on the bannerstone. There are also two letters carved into the corner of one wing (L.L.). Possibly stands for initials of finder or "Long Level". The linear incising is ancient however the 2 cursive script letters are obviously modern. Hole blow-out on one side is noted (ancient).

Total pay of $140.88 for 1 month of work. Very unique and rare piece.

John Jameson led the Culpeper Minutemen, who rallied under the famous blue and white flag depicting the snake with 13 rattles and the motto, ?Liberty or Death?Don?t Tread on Me,? during Virginia?s Battle of Great Bridge in 1775. Later, as a colonel, Jameson was instrumental in exposing the treason of Benedict Arnold.

When Elias Mercer (Union, Fourteenth Infantry) was born on 11 August 1838, in Middlebourne, Tyler, Virginia, United States, his father, William Mercer, was 50 and his mother, Margaret "Peggy" Metz, was 40. He married Lucinda Glover on 14 August 1859, in Wetzel, West Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Union Mills, Pleasants, West Virginia, United States in 1880 and East Liverpool, East Liverpool, Columbiana, Ohio, United States in 1900. He died on 14 December 1913, in East Liverpool, Columbiana, Ohio, United States, at the age of 75, and was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery, Pleasant Heights, East Liverpool, Columbiana, Ohio, United States.

HIGHLIGHT 8 5/8" Knobbed Adze, Found in Maine, Broken+Reglued Artifact. This is one of the best examples of a knobbed adze that I have seen. This has been anciently broken and later reglued right below the knobs (minimal painting in order to blend the break). It is very large measuring 8 5/8" long x 3 7/8" wide. Overall sharp bit and excellent condition other than broken/reglued. Faint collectors marks "897" and "851" noted.

XL 13 1/2" Roller Pestle, Lancaster Co., PA Octoraro Creek on Horseshoe Bend. This piece was found near the Reynold's Pording Horse Shoe Bend on the Octoraro Creek in Lancaster Co., PA. A historical boy scout account on this bend references a native american village: "Below Wood's bridge the Octoraro meanders around the southwestern corner of the West Nottingham Township and flows into Maryland; then loath to leave the state that gave it its birth it turns northward once again and lingers long enough to murmur its farewell and, having done so, hastens on the quest for the Susquehanna. Who first gave the name of Horseshoe to this portion of the Octoraro or when it was given are alike unknown. We do know that the Indians were here at Horseshoe. Artifacts have been found to show that the site of well known Buzzards Rock was a former shelter, look-out station and prayer rock for the Leni-Lenape tribe of the Delaware Indians. Below the rock was an Indian village, while directly across the creek was a large grassy plot which was used to pasture their horses. Many articles such as cooking utensils, bones, tomahawks, arrowheads and peace pipes were found under the rock, which would indicate that this was a sacred spot used for burying."
