Medals, Militaria, and British Empire Collection

by Alderfer Auction
Wed, Mar  2, 2022  10:00 AM   Eastern
Alderfer Auction is honored to present the Medals, Militaria and British Empire collection of Mr. Stanley R. Bright (1933-2021) in a single owner offering. Mr. Bright was a graduate of Rutgers University and served his country in the United States Air Force. He later obtained his law degree from Rutgers Law School and was an active member of the bar in several states. In addition to being a productive member of the legal community, Mr. Bright was a student of history, a collector of military medals, historical materials, and items related to the British monarchy. His interest in materials related to the British Empire can be traced back to his English born parents. A great portion of his interest in medals and militaria arose from his uncles, who served in the Royal Air Force during World War II. His collecting passion and scholarly approach enabled Mr. Bright to amass a fine representative collection of British medals, particularly those awarded in World War I for soldier’s service in France, Gallipoli and other European battlefields. The auction will include numerous WWI British medals, US WWI Campaign medals, with other 19th & 20th century British campaign medals. This auction will include Soviet, French, Italian, Belgian, and other medals as well as WWII sterling wings and patriotic/military pins. This offering will also consist of historic/military related prints, textiles, porcelains, binoculars/optics, and military related items. Many of these items have been held in Mr. Bright’s collection for decades and we are proud to offer these interesting materials to a new generation of collectors, dealers and investors.
