This 19th Century Victorian Maritime single draw telescope, Marked, " J.P. Cutts, London, Day or Night". This is a nice example of a Naval Telescope. Measuring over 24 ¼" fully extended, and 14 ½" closed. All lenses appear to be present and intact, but it is missing its sliding shutter. The barrel draws open freely, and has a nice, rich patina on the brass with no dents, and very minor scratches. The oak tube is in great condition with a very slight split in the edge of the wood, from age, which does not affect the functionality or appearance. The object lens measures 1 ½". This is a nice collectible for the nautical enthusiast.

This sweet sounding string instrument, includes a fitted hard case, music book and string tin, with other little extras. It has very Ornate Abalone or Mother of Pearl inlay of a cherub and leaf motif, with no missing or chipped pieces. Properly labeled on the inside, with original label from maker. It measures 21" x 11 1/2". In very good overall condition for it's age. One of the ivory/bone? pegs has been replaced at some point during it's long history. A few very minor cracks or crazing, just around the edges, and one small chip on the end of on of the string pegs. It has an ornate nickel plated peg reinforcement panel. Could use a good cleaning and a re-tuning, and would be a lovely addition to your collection.

Great patina, with rich colors, and obvious talent in the brush strokes. The back edge of canvas is covered and difficult to tell exact medium, but appears to be a nice painting.

It says, "Merchants Exchange Bank, No.3517? (hand written), Will Pay One Dollar on demand to the bearer. Anacostia, D.C." It is Serial numbered and signed by hand. No major creases.

This Ithaca Shotgun measures 43.25" Long, and is marked, "Ithaca Gun Company, Ithaca, N.Y. Smokeless Powder Steel". There is a scene engraved into the receiver of a dog in the woods. It appears to be in good firing condition, but cosmetically, this gun shows extensive wear with lots of dings and scratches. It has two chunks of wood missing, on the top and the bottom, of the stock butt. If you click on photo 2, it will blow it up so that you can see. It has two triggers, one for each barrel. it is not marked 12 gauge, but we measured, and believe that it is.

Custom Antique Mourning Ring, dated 1828, 18K Yellow Gold, Emerald, Diamond, & Turqoise Ring - WOW

This 19th Century, Custom Made, Antique Estate Mourning Ring is dated 1828, on the inside inscription. This very unique 18K Yellow Gold, Multi-Stone Ring is etched on the inside “Archibald Gracie died 21st October 1828”. This beautiful Ring is set with a 7.2mm x 3.2mm center emerald-cut Brazilian Emerald. The emerald has a medium dark green color. The center stone is surrounded by sixteen round shaped hand carved diamonds approx 2mm in diameter. The diamonds are slightly toned and slightly clear in clarity and are visually equivalent of 4 to 5 point modern cut diamonds. On each side of the ring, are three cabochon cut turquoise stones 2.15mm in diameter. This charming piece has etched designs around the center stone and down the sides of the ring. The ring has a total mounted weight of 4.0 grams. . Jewelry Certifications / Appraisals are provided by an independent jewelry appraiser, and are available to the new owner, by request.

This Antique looking Nautical Ships Bell Clock works beautifully, as we have been listening to it for the past several weeks. It has Quartz movement, and runs off of batteries, but we ponder if that has been replaced at some point over time. the clock appears to be older than that. Marked "Bell Clock, Quartz" on the brass face. Factory Board mounted. Works perfectly. Beveled crystal has no chips or cracks. Mounting is 9" x 16". Nice Patina on Brass Bell and clock housing. It is a heavy piece.

Antique American Fraternal Presentation Sword, OUAM - Order of the United American Meachanics, Ivory

This gorgeous ornate presentation sword is from the “OUAM- Order of the United American Mechanics”. Founded in Philadelphia, 1845, OUAM is a nativistic, patriotic, political and benevolent secret society. Formerly known as the A.M.U., they quickly changed their name to the OUAM in 1853. Established in 1886 as OUAM Loyal Legion. This sword is Manufactured by Raymond S Whitlock, New York. It dates, Circa late 19th century to early 20th century. It has an ivory handle, and the blade has the members name inscribed into it (M. Bauer Jr.), along with ornate etched designs on either side of the blade. The brass hilt and blade are in excellent condition, with a nice rich patina to the scabbard. Overall length is 37.25”. Photo’d and referenced in “The American Fraternal Sword” by Hamilton, Marino and Kaplan, pg 137/8

RARE German Walther AC41 2nd Variation, P.38 - 9mm - Matching Serial numbers

This firearm is said to have been taken by Patton's 5th Army Tank Corp in WWII during the invasion of Germany. This weapon has matching serial numbers on the magazine, the trigger pull frame, and the slide. Has brown, hard plastic (bakelite?) Grips. It has the tiny number "359" stamped on about 5+ different places. This piece is in very nice condition, with a great paina. It appears as if the little metal tag on the magazine that hangs off, has been soldered at some time.

This Pistol comes with a black soft carrying case. This firearm does require a Background Check.

One is numbered 15, and the other is 24. Has label on back, Framed by Wanamaker - New York , Philadelphia, London, Paris. Heavy tanning to both, but no rips or tears. The outer area, of the paper has mildew on one of them, but not over the image. Even though the images have darkened from age, you cannot help but stare at these charming pieces. the detail work is stunning and intricate. Though the artist is unknown, their talent was evident.

This Unique lamp measures 9" T x 5 1/4" W x 4"D. It has 99% original paint, with very minor chipping. It has a cast man, holding a jug in one hand, and handing water to a man seated on a camel. There are no dents or bends, and it has a lovely patina. It looks to date from the 1920's or 30's. I believe the cord is older, but not original. This is such a great piece and has a well made look to it.

The Footed Jewelry Box has a Deep Red Velvet Lining, and measures at 6"W x 4.5"D x 4"T. These pieces are in excellent condition, with no chips in any of the glass, and no rust on the decorative metal work.

Antique Silver Turkish Jambiya Dagger With Solid Silver Scabbard Late 1800's to Early 1900's

This unique 20th Century Islamic Silver Dagger, with Sheath is hand forged from Silver with a Middle Eastern descent, most likely Turkish. The handle is made of carved wood, with a black stained color, and a carved silver pommel tip. The hand guard and sheath are uniquely carved with intricate designs. The steel blade is curved to custom fit the sheath. This lovely antique blade is in good condition, with worn areas from age, on both sides, also appears to have a worn wooden area underneath handle guard where, may have had a silver piece originally. Over all length 16” and blade is 8”.

This US Navy ships Gyro-Compass Repeater is a Mark XV, Model 0. The Piece is marked by the manufacturer, around the face, "The Sperry Gyroscope Co., Inc., of New York, Patented 1919". The condition of this gorgeous piece is fabulous. It plugs in and works, and has a lovely patina. It does have some green fleck patination throughout. It measures at 56"T and the base is 15" in diameter.

This adorable little peanut machine looks to be from the 1930's. It has a Glass bowl that is in excellent condition. It has an affixed tray, with a turn knob on the side and a coin slot that says 5 cents. It has "Patent Pending" on the metal top. The Finish is worn, and it has a rough patina, but works nicely. It does needs a key, which means, as you can probably imagine, since I mentioned it is working, there will be a few shiny new nickels included in this lot. It measures 11.5" tall, and the under tray is 8" x 10".

This Circa 1880's or 90's cherry with brass fittings ladies lap desk is a wonderful find. The box opens into a desk with a pen compartment at one end, with little cubby holes for storage. The green felt lining covers a wood writing surface, that lifts up on both sides to reveal a nice hidden storage compartment. The exterior has a drawer on one end. Measuring at 20" X 9.5" X 5", It is the perfect size. The Finish is very nice, and the overall condition is great with a few minor spots of veneer missing on the inside around the frame, but does not detract whatsoever.

This US Navy Navigational Sounding Machine, is marked, "Type H.N.S., Bureau of Ships, 1941, model 18-M-6, Serial number # 3626." It also has the US Navy inspector marking stamp. This Machine was made by John E. Hand & Sons Co., Philadelphia. The dial facing is porcelain covered. It is in overall wonderful condition. It measures 37"T x 17"W.

This Antique "The Pullman Company" Crumb Scoop was used in the Dining Train Car. This silver plate crumb scoop is 12" long, and is made by "International Silver Co. - #05016." It has one small ripple, and a small ding in the edge area.

The Silver Plate Sugar Spoon, marked "R.F. & P" came from the dining car of the Richmond, Fredericksburg, & Potomac Railroad Company and measures 3 1/3" long. It is made by the International Silver Co.

The next one is a 25 cent note, with heavy wear to the edges, signed New York, w/ no visible date. It measures at 3.5"W x 1 3/4"T. The last bill is a 5 Cents Note, Postage Currency, dated July 17, 1862. It Shows an edge clip, crinkling and light image, with tiny hole. These are great pieces of history!

This is a great little piece, with a frame size of 18" x 14". The Image is 15" x 11". I believe the medium is oil on canvas board. It has a linen mat. It is in nice condition, with no blemishes or abrasions. Cesare Ricciardi lived from 1892-1973, and was from Pennsylvania. There are several similar works on Ask Art that have sold at auction houses around the country.

This is an antique photo album that measures 5.5" x 4". There are antique photos in this album, as well as what we believe are reproduction photos. I believe most of the ones of historical value are not in fact authentic, and those that are common, are in fact authentic. Please bid as if they were not authentic, and for the album. There is a possibility that one is real, but I am uncertain. Album binding is loose, but in otherwise good condition, nice brass clasp. Oval Facia piece is in poor condition.

Pair of Vintage Hand Carved Wood Alaskan Native American Indian Masks w/ Shells, teeth, hair

This unique pair of hand carved masks are both believed to be from Alaska. The back of the first one, says “Tlinget Warrior in Alaskan Yellow Cedar, By Ray Fairweather Raven, Peck Juneau, Alaska" written in pencil. It has shells for teeth, and a little wire hanger to hang the mask from. It is hand carved and hand painted. Measurements: 7.5” x approx 6”. The second mask is also hand carved, appears to have real hair (horse?), and has two eye holes drilled through, with a small wire hanger on the back. Teeth appear to be some kind of jagged bone or tooth? There is no makers mark found. Measures: 6.5” x about 4.5”

Spanish Atocha Shipwreck Cob Type Treasure Coin - Piece of Eight, Silver Eight Reales w/ Original ID

This Silver Spanish Cob Type Piece of Eight was found on the Shipwreck of the Atocha, 1622, that sank off the Florida Keys. The Atocha was discovered by famous treasure hunter Mel Fisher in 1985. This treasure coin still has the original authentic coin ID card that it was given when it was discovered. The coin has a denomination of Eight Reales, and was minted between 1598 to 1621, during the reign of Phillip III. the coin was minted at Potosi, where most of the Atocha coins were minted. This loose coin has a weight of 23.5 Grams, and an Origin # that can pinpoint exactly where the coin was found on the wreck site. The Certification, or TSI # is 85A-260251. With a call to the Mel Fisher Museum in Key West, they can print a certification for this coin and ID Card.

The Diamonds have an average quality of I-1, and a color grade of J. Two of the mounted stones appear to be hand-cut. The ring has a mounted weight of 7.6 Grams of 14K Solid Gold. The Ring has a diamond cut finish row down the center, while the rest of the band is a polished finish.

Author or Publisher of that series is E. Flammarion. No date found on. The fifth and last book is, "Des Fontaines le Grands Ouvrieres Francais". All have foxing and extensive wear to the bindings, but appear to be otherwise complete. Measurements 9” wide x 12.25” tall. All are approximately same size. Most of these books have lovely, etchings, engravings, & plates within, in both color and black & white.

Rare Vintage Dopey Ventriloquist Doll made by The Ideal Novelty & Toy Co. - Snow White & 7 Dwarfs

This RARE Vintage Dopey Ventriloquist Doll was made by The Ideal Novelty & Toy Company, of New York. They produced this large Dopey doll, with movable mouth and chin as a ventriloquist toy in 1938. The figure has a cord and ring which operate Dopey’s mouth. The only dwarf that doesn’t speak in the movie. The Condition overall is fair, but complete. He does have cracking and crazing to his body and hands, clothing has wear and is faded, shoes are present. Buttons are still present, and doll is complete from what we can tell. String for jaw is still attached, but the string needs to be tightened. Marked on the back of his neck “Ideal Doll”. Measures at 22” tall.

Auction Records on the “Worthpoint” show an identical one, in slightly better condition, sold for $898 on Aug 19 2008. Called the Ideal “Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs” Dopey Ventriloquist Doll.

The Anti-tarnish bag says, “Julius Goodman and Son - Memphis, Tennesse.” The bottoms of both pieces are marked “sterling”, with hallmarks and the number “366” imprinted and the number “5036” is hand etched into the bottom. Both appear to be in good condition. No dings. These have a lovely patina, and have not been cleaned, but have no major oxidation. The weight of the creamer is 5.095 troy ounces, and the weight of the sugar is 5.97 troy ounces. Both pieces are approx. 3.5” to 4” tall, 4.5” to 5” wide.

RARE 1740's German Double Barrel Flip-Over Flintlock Jaeger Rifle w/ ornate workmanship - Weapon

This very rare Splendid German 1740’s double flintlock Jaeger rifle, with turnover barrels is just exquisite in style and design. The turnover (wender) system is attributed to an unknown Dutch Gunsmith. This beautiful flintlock is constructed with two iron barrels, 28.75” in length, that incorporates dual priming pans, striking steels, and feather springs, with one main cock, giving the gunman more than one shot. But in hunting, the barrels were often loaded with different shot giving the hunter a choice of projectiles for different game. When one barrel was fired, the latch lever in front of the trigger guard is then pulled, allowing the barrels to be manually rotated, revolver like. A very ingenious technological achievement in firearm evolution. The line of the swivel joint is marked by the rear edge of the silver band decorated by a zig-zag line between the cock and the flashpan. The barrels of this antique rifle are in excellent condition and still have the barrel makers name etched on them, along with original bluing still on the barrels. Attached, along the side of the barrels and held down by brass fixtures, is the original brass tipped ramrod. The beautiful wood stock is hand carved on both sides with plain design brass furniture completing the guns design. One side plate and the butt plate have minor rubbing. This is an exceptional piece in quality and condition.

Antique Religious Crucifix Cross with Rare Skull & Crossbones - inlaid Wood

This lovely crucifix cross measures 1 ¾” w x 3 ½ ”t. The crucifix is made of a brassy type metal with inlaid wood. It has the figure of Christ, with the Skull and Cross Bones mounted on the inlaid wood.

There have been many types of crucifixes through history, but those bearing the symbol of the skull and crossbones are somewhat rare, as this symbol was only used up until the late 1800’s, early 1900’s, depending upon where they were made. The skull and crossbones, at the feet of Jesus, symbolized his victory over death. It was to remind Christians that Jesus Christ was crucified by the Romans at “Mount Calvary” (Latin Calvaria - Meaning Skull) or “Golgotha” (meaning the hill of skulls), and then rose from the dead on Easter Sunday. This symbol was used on all crucifixes, until it became popular with pirates, and thus gained negative connotations.

This lot consists of four Vintage Native American Indian – Alaskan - Carved totems. The first one is made of resin, with no markings on back or bottom. It has hand-painted detail work, and at first glance, it looks like wood. Measures approximately 9” tall. The Second totem is made of wood, and has a paper label on the bottom that says “Made in Alaska” with a little bear emblem. It is hand-painted, carved out of wood, and measures approximately 5.5”. The third totem is a bit larger, and measures 11” tall, is hand carved wood, and has detachable wings that push up into a groove. It has an identical paper label as the Second one, that says “Made in Alaska” with the bear, but is also hand signed “Patrick Seale, C. 1991”, and also has another sticker that says “a gift from Skagway Alaska”. It is hand painted, and in good condition. Fourth totem is resin. It has had a glue repair on the bottom, and has a couple of minor chips. Displays nicely, and measures at 11”, with no makers marks.

Signed three-dimensional Capodimonte, Made in Italy, Framed Art with Porcelain Roses. This beautiful piece has pink and purple detail work on the roses with a bit reddish hue to them. They look so real, you will actually want to bend over to smell their sweet aroma. It is in excellent condition, with no discovered major breaks, chips, cracks, or repairs. After thorough investigation with a black light, only a few itty bitty flea bite spec nicks, which would not even be seen by the average person, have been found. For a piece of this size, it is rare to find in such lovely condition. It is signed, “J. Mollico” on the front, in the bottom right hand corner, and has the Capodimonte Stamp on the front bottom left hand corner. The Porcelain Piece measures 16” long and 13” wide. Overall framed measurements 29” tall by 24” wide. Framed in faux board wood finish frame in good consition, with linen stock matting. Back has no markings, and has a hook to hang from.

RARE 1784 El Cazador Spanish Salvaged Shipwreck Silver Eight Reale Encrusted Coin Clump - Four Coins

Now is a great opportunity to own a rare shipwreck salvaged four coin clump, that contains Four Silver Eight Reale Spanish Screw Press Bust Dollars from the El Cazador Shipwreck, that were salvaged in the 2002 expedition, and are still in rare, encrusted form.

The Shipwreck That Changed America. On January 11, 1784, the Spanish Brigantine of War, El Cazador, sailed from Vera Cruz, Mexico, to New Orleans carrying 450,000 pesos of silver coins (today’s approx. value of $200 million). The King of Spain, Carlos III (1759-1788), had intended the coins on board to be used to redeem the nearly worthless paper currency that was then in circulation, in Spanish territorial Louisiana.

The El Cazador never made her destination, when the vessel, crew, and cargo sank into the ocean, disappearing without a trace. The ill-fated treasure was to have stabilized the Spanish monetary system in colonial North America. After the loss, Spain’s North American Holding weakened severely. The King of Spain was forced to either sell or trade Louisiana.

In 1800’s, a reluctant King Carlos IV (1788-1808), Conveyed Louisiana to France’s Napoleon. Three years later in 1803, Emperor Napoleon sold Louisiana to President Thomas Jefferson for $15 Million. With the loss of the El Cazador, the destiny of the United States was changed. The territory owned by the United States size was instantly doubled

This fabulous piece is in very nice condition, and has been gut tanned, and has a handpainted Star & Crescent Moon on the front. It has Peachish Gold Feather that hang from Metal Cone Bells, and little brass bells that attach to the drawstring. It also has clumps of hair tied with sinew across the entire back. It is very soft. The bag measures at 7.5" x 8.5", plus the tassels, and feathers that add another two inches.

This lot includes a collection of 3 various sized Manillas. Each measures in varying measurements of approximately 3" in diameter. All are in wonderfully preserved condition with fabulous patina.

Contrary to popular belief, these were not used as shackles for slaves, rather they were a form of currency that tribes accepted in trade for their prisoners from rival clans, who then became slaves. Often found throughout Europe, and the Carribean, on shipwreck sites, as well as dug in parts of Africa. These Bronze relics open a window to the different forms of currency used throughout the world during the 1800's.

Antique 1850's Allen & Thurber Double Action Percussion Cap Pepperbox Pistol Gun

This Allen & Thurber Six barreled self cocking percussion pepperbox is a magnificent piece. Made in the USA, the term "Pepperbox" was given to pistols with four or more barrels arranged in a circle that rotate around a central axis. This piece is in great working order. It features a 5 1/8" ribbed barrel with nice patina, lightly faded etching on the metal stock, and richly patina'd wooden grips. This pepperbox is in original working condition. Partial Ethan Allen patent mark is slightly visible on top of hammer. On the side of the hammer the name Allen and Thurber is slightly visible. Overall length is 9".

Ethan Allen patented a double-action firing mechanism and for many years their reputation exceeded that of the famous Samuel Colt Revolver. Reference; "Arms & Weapons" by Tarassuk & Blair).

This Pirate Treasure Cob Piece of Eight Coin came from the Spanish Treasury Fleet of 1628. It is a Silver Four Reale, and was minted in the early 1600’s, during the reign of Phillip III, in the Mexico city mint. It has a grade of good. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, depicting the full story.

The Brief Story of the Spanish treasury Fleet from 1628, is…On May 20, 1628 Dutch Privateer Piet Heyn, organized the largest pirate expedition ever undertaken, and succeeded in apprehending three Spanish Galleons outside of the Havana, Cuba Harbor. Upon capturing the Treasure Fleet, and during the return voyage to Holland, the Spanish Galleons struck a reef outside the Grand Bahama Banks, and sank with a Total Loss. Discovered later by treasure salvagers in the 1960’s, these coins slowly found their way to the private market.

This lovely piece measures at approximately 29.75"W x 49.75"T. It is painted by Joachim (Joe) K. Loeber, who was born in Germany, and lived in the US most of his life. An Artist, and Teacher, He was well known for his Atocha Shipwreck Series, and his painting of the Famous Treasure Salvor Mel Fisher. This painting is from that series, and is called "The Guard". This piece comes with an Artist Bio, and an Essay written by the artist. This piece came from his personal estate. The colors are wonderful, and rich. It depicts the Atocha Shipwreck, with a huge treasure coin, and a large shark guarding it. It has something that was added to the paint to add texture, with a grainy, sand like feeling to it, which has flaked off in a few areas near the bottom right side. It is hard to even notice this, at first look, as there is so much going on, and with it having a three dimensional look to it anyway.

This Beautiful complete Middle Eastern, Persian / Balkan Flintlock Rifle is a good example of how the weapons trade flourished around the world. The British were extraordinary makers of barrels and gun locks. Their work was often sold and traded to foreign countries, who would then make their own wooden gun stocks to complete the weapon. The lock on this Flintlock is made by Master Gun Maker, James Leigh of the British, East India Company, from 1805 to 1831. “Leigh” is etched on the back of the lock plate, along with the touch mark insignia of the British East India Company, (#4 on top of VEIC) about the date 1805. This rifle has nine brass barrel bands along the stock, with two belt hooks that are also attached to the stock. The fancy carved wood stock is in great condition, and the butt stock is made of custom carved Horn. This design is a well known look for Eastern style weapons. The iron barrel extends out to 41 ½ “, and is in great condition with its original metal ram rod underneath. Reference, “Boarders Away II” by Gilkerson, p. 247 & “Gun Makers of London” by Blackmore, p.132.

It is in Nice condition, otherwise, and the paper company labels are still present. The leather carrying strap is broken on one side, and needs to be mended. Overall dimensions are 12" x 12". If only this little beauty could talk...

It appears to be an oil/acrylic on canvas. The White peacock is symbolic of rarity and beauty. The condition is excellent, with a carved ornate, muted metallic frame.

Antique Nautical Ships Air Vent - Great for Display!

This Ships, or large boats, air vent was used for bringing fresh air down below the deck. It has yellow paint on the exterior, and blue on the interior. There are a few red paint blotches on it, as well as some paint flaking, which only add to the wonderful patina, and aged look from years at sea. It has two handles on either side, and measures at 26" Long with an opening at the top of 12" in diameter.

This charming lot includes a pair of Engravings by Huquier, and are of scenes painted by French artist, Jean Antoine Watteau (1684-1721), noted as one of the most brilliant painters of the 18th Century. Jaques Gabriel Huquier (1725-1805), himself was a well noted Engraver during the 1700's. The subjects of these works are Infantry Soldiers, with Swords & Rifles. This pair is in good to fair condition with some dark splotches, on the tops of each image, where it looks like they were affixed to the mat. Also some toning has happened over time. One has a small hole, and a very light crease, and the other has a dark spot. They are complete, and lovely, nonetheless, but could simply use a good cleaning.

Both artists are listed artist, whose works have sold in fine auctions all over the world. One of Watteau's pieces sold through Sotheby's in '97 for $1100. His work is very detailed, and life-like.

1740 Hollandia Dutch Shipwreck Spanish Silver Treasure Screw Press Pillar Coin - Silver 8 Reale

This Dutch Shipwreck Coin, is a Spanish Silver Screw Press pillar dollar, with a denomination of Silver Eight Reale. It is Dated 1741., and was minted in the Mexico city mint, during the reign of Phillip V. The grade of this coin is fine. This Coin has an accompanying Certificate of Origin, and was recovered from the Dutch East Indiaman ‘Hollandia,’ which sank off the Isles of Scilly, on her maiden voyage from Amsterdam to Batavia, in July 1743, with the loss of all hands. She was carrying a cargo of silver for trading in the Far East. Her displacement was approximately 700 tons, her length 150 feet, and she carried approximately 40 guns. The wreck was discovered by Divers in September of 1971.

It has the early silver fitting throughout, and amber brown composition (bakelite) twist grip. There is a very tiny chip out of the handle about halfway up. The Scabbard has a pebbled finish and is mounted with two suspension loops. It measures at 14.5"L & the Sheath is 11"L. This Officer's dagger is pictured on page 203, of "Warman's 2007 World War II Collectibles". Excellent Condition with wonderful patina.

This Dutch Shipwreck Spanish Silver Screw Press Pillar Dollar, is a Silver Eight Reale Coin, Dated 1736. This coin was minted in the Mexico City Mint, during the reign of Phillip V. The grade of this coin is very fine, especially for a shipwreck coin. This Coin has an accompanying Certificate of authenticity showing that it was recovered from the wreck of the Dutch East Indiaman (VOC) Rooswijk, which sank off the English coast, on the treacherous Goodwin Sands, with the loss of all in the month of December 1739.

Vintage Alaskan Native American Indian Blackstone Carving of a RARE Narwhal Whale w/ Ivory Horn

This piece is an Alaskan Eskimo, Northwest Coast, American Indian Carving of a Narwhal, with a carved twisted ivory horn coming out of his head. He is mounted on a carved horn / antler stand. It is artist signed on the bottom, "PA C. 76".

The narwhal (Monodon monoceros) is a medium-sized toothed whale that lives year-round in the Arctic. One of two species of whale in the Monodontidae family, along with the Beluga whale, the narwhal males are distinguished by a characteristic long, straight, helical tusk extending from their upper left jaw. Narwhal have been harvested for over a thousand years by Inuit people in Northern Canada and Greenland for meat and ivory and a regulated subsistence hunt continues to this day. While populations appear stable, the narwhal has been deemed particularly vulnerable to climate change due to a narrow geographical range and specialized diet.

Inuit legend, the narwhal's tusk was created when a woman with a harpoon rope tied around her waist was dragged into the ocean after the harpoon had struck a large narwhal. She was transformed into a narwhal herself, and her hair twisted around in the water until it became the characteristic spiral narwhal tusk.

This Silver Eight Reale Cob Coin is Dated (16)”80”, and was minted during the Reign of Carlos II, in Potosi. It has a grade of Fine, with the Assayer Mark “V”. This piece comes with a “Certificate of Authenticity of An Historical Artifact” documenting its historical merit, and is artifact Number 7268134.

The Story of the “Treasure of the Consolacion 1681”. In April of 1681, a fleet of Spanish treasure galleons were to leave the port of Lima, Peru, with the last few years of minted gold and silver coins from Potosi mints. The Santa Maria De la Consolacion was delayed in Chili, forcing the rest of the fleet to leave the port, and leaving the Consolacion to finish the journey to Panama alone.

Upon leaving Peru with the Consolacions new cargo of treasure alone, the ship was sighted by pirates, and the Captain decided to ground the ship. Tragically, the ship struck a reef off the island of Santa Clara within the bay of Guayaquil, Ecuador, which was nicknamed by the Spanish, “Isla de Muerto” ( Island of the Dead ). The galleon was soon evacuated and set on fire to prevent any pillaging. Neither pirates, nor returning Spaniards were able to recover all of the sunken treasure.

These came from the Richmond Washington Line Railway Dining Car. Both are silverplate, are marked with the RWL logo on the fronts, & and have original patina. The bottom of the teapot reads, "International Silver Co. Silver Soldered 05007 8 Oz." and the bottom of the sugar reads, "International Silver Co. Silver Soldered 05090 10 Oz." The teapot is 6" x 7" x 3", and the sugar is 5" x 4.5". both have some corrosion on the inside, but we did not want to attempt to clean, and ruin their patina. We will leave that to the new owner.

RARE 1770-1783 Henry Nock Brittish Brass Barreled Naval Flintlock Blunderbuss w/original Bayonet

This is a fine example of a sea serviced Brass Barreled Blunderbuss, with its original Bayonet still attached. As with most service weapons, the likelihood that they survived was uncommon, but in this condition and with the bayonet still intact, very rare indeed. The Lock Plate makers name "H-Nock" is etched on the side of the lock, and etched on the barrel is the word "London" along with the barrel makers touch mark and proof mark. The Blunderbuss still has its original Ivory tipped Ram Rod, which appears to have a minor repair, with the wormer still attached at the end of it. This Flintlock is in Great Original working condition.

336-323 B.C. Ancient Coin of "Alexander the Great" Silver Tetradrachm

During the reign of “Alexander the Great “, many new foundries were opened in order to support his high payroll demand for the armies fighting and marching their way across Europe, in his campaign to conquer the world. This fine example of a Tetradrachm is rare, in it’s quality and condition, compared to many of the Alexander coins found on archaeological digs around Europe.

The Obverse side, has the Bust of Hercules, wearing the skin of a lion over his head. The Reverse side has the figure of Zeus, enthroned, holding a scepter in one hand and “Winged Victory” Bird in his other. This coin was minted between 336-323 B.C., during the Reign of Alexander the Great, III. It has a grade of Fine, and was minted in Macedonia. This coin comes with a “Certificate of Authenticity of An Historical Artifact ” documenting its historical merit, and is artifact Number 8143026.

This adorable lot includes 1 Metal Elephant that pushes a circus barrel, and comes in his original box. He is made by "ONO T-N" in Japan, measures 7"L and is in great condition. He winds up and works great! Next we have Mr. Fuzzy Elephant, measuring in at 6", he is in good condition, and appears to need a key (not present) to wind him up. He has a tag that says, "Made in Japan". And Last, but certainly not least is our friend, Mr. Donkey who measures at 6.5" and has eyeballs that just look too real... when you wind him up his tail swing, his ears move, and his eyeballs go back and forth. Works great, and marked, Made in Japan.

Antique Pair of Stunning Bronze Lady Figural Lamps by L.F. Moreau - French Scupltures of Ladies

Both superb pieces are stamped and signed "L.F. Moreau, Colleccion Francaise". These exquisite lamps are in excellent condition, with very minor paint chipping in obscure spots, I would say paint is at 99% or better. They are very heavy, and measure at 36"H, w/ shades, & 17" Dia. One frosted glass shade does have chipping around the rim, where it screws into the socket, but cannot be seen when screwed in. The Moreau's are listed artists w/ extensive auction records to validate their quality and expertise, through Askart, and Worthpoint.

A bit of history for you; L&F Moreau were two brothers who were part of the Moreau dynasty of sculptors from Dijon France in the 19th century. L&F Moreau were perhaps best known for creating highly ornate clocks and garniture sets in both bronze and spelter. The L stands for Louis Auguste (1855-1919), known for bronzes and metal sculptures. The F stands for Hippolyte Francois (1857-1930), a painter and sculptor. Both of these men were each well-known artists and today are listed in the various important art guides (Davenports, Who's Who, etc.) and their work commands high prices and they have exceptional auction records -- their bronzes commonly bring upwards of $10,000.

They were nephews of Mathurin Moreau, who was perhaps better known and the family tree of this dynasty appears below. Their L&F Moreau studio was their business partnership which produced spelter copies of both of their bronze sculptures (spelter is a bronze-like Pot metal that is lighter weight than bronze and made primarily from zinc). It's important to note that L&F Moreau also individually produced bronze and spelter pieces and signed them Auguste and Hippolyte ... but those signed with L&F Moreau marks were produced by this partnership studio. There is much confusion about the Moreaus and many people think that these were more members of this impressive family than there were ... because of the way they used their middle names and initials!

Original Antique Mid-1400's Iron European Tri-barrel Hand Cannon w/ remnants of Original Wood Pole

This is a fine example of the earliest form of a firearm. Approximately around the Early 1400's, with the advancements in black powder, hand cannons were created. They usually consisted of a single iron tube barrel with a touch hole and a straight handle. It was held in the left hand and a match in the right, with a wooden pole inserted in the rear socket for a handle. This unusual example is a tri-barrel, and was designed to increase firepower. Having three barrels instead of one, decreased production costs, as well as increasing your chances of hitting your opponent.

The condition of this piece is all original, and the barrels appear to be welded to the tiller socket rather than cast. The three reinforcing rings keep the barrels together and allow for more strength. The condition of this weapon is exceptional given its age, with a fine patina. The ones that need keys seem operable when moving their parts. Also included is a drum that was just a extra part in the collection that we didn't know what it went to, so I included it in case these guys wanted to start a band!

This Spanish Cob Type, Silver Piece of Eight Coin is a superb example of a Silver Eight Reale. It is very rare, as it has been dated twice, with a Full date of 1671. This coin was minted during the Reign of Carlos II. It has a grade of Fine, and was minted at the Potosi mint with the Assayer mark “E”. There is a “Certificate of Authenticity of An Historical Artifact” documenting it’s historical merit, and it is artifact Number 2135614.

This lovely pair includes a decanter with a ship on one side, and a crest on the other. It measures at 9.75"T x 7"W x 5"D. It is signed on the bottom by the maker, Vista Allegre, Portugal, 1824. Has Gold Leaf accents, and a pressed brass finish top that is attached to a cork. The inscription "V Centenario Da Morte De D. Joao II, Serie Especial" is marked on the bottom.

Also included is a very Nautical themed Vase that measures 11.25"T x 4.8"W. It also is marked on the bottom, Vista Allegre. Inscribed, "V Centenario Do Tratado De Tordesilhas 1494-1994, Edicao especial" on the bottom. It also has a lovely non-glazed porcelain seal on the front of a soldier.

Early 1800's European Naval Cutlass Short Sword - Antique Pirate Blade

This early 1800's European naval cutlass is very simple and elegant in style. It has a sturdy iron hilt with a round hand guard and a small curled over quillon. The knuckle guard is round, simple in decoration, and flat. The grip has a solid ribbed design. The blade is slightly curved, and the sharpened edge is dull from age and use. One large fuller runs along the top side of the blade. For a sword that was naval and used primarily for fighting it's condition is exceptional, with slight nicks on the blade edge and a nice rustic patina on the blade. Over all length is 31 1/2".

Swords like this one were the weapons of choice for boarding and defending the ships during up-close battle. Reference; "Swords and Daggers" by Wilkinson).

This absolutely stunning Custom Antique Miquelet Lock Flintlock Italian Pistol is almost indescribable with this limited space to write. The photos cannot even begin to describe the quality workmanship that has been put into this gun. The Miquelet Lock itself has three dimensional faces and etched carvings in every direction of view. The Lock is in excellent working condition, with beautiful patina. All the brass furniture throughout the pistol is etched and carved in very high relief, with classical scenes of faces and animals. In every direction you turn to examine this antique pistol you will see another face looking back. From the three dimensional mystical gorgon looking faces on the butt cap, and the other amazing detail work, there is always something new to find every time you examine it. The burled walnut wood stock has a stunning rich tone to it. Under the trigger guard, there is a very minute hair line age crack that does not affect the structural integrity of the firearm, whatsoever, but we still wanted to mention. The barrel stock is carved almost the entire way down to the bore tip. This amazing weapon comes with the original ram-rod. The barrel is in great condition with the same beautiful patina as the lock mechanism, with nice brass work at the bore tip. Very rarely do you see a weapon of this caliber on the market. It will be a superb addition to any collection. The barrel Length is 12 ½”, and the overall length is 18 ½”. The photographs of this piece, cannot even begin to do justice of the true quality of it in your hands.

US Military Calvary 1839 Dated Flintlock Pistol R. Johnson Model 1836 - Weapon Firearm Gun

This Military Antique Flintlock Pistol is dated "1839" and touch marked "R. Johnson" (Robert Johnson) "Mid Town Connecticut" (Middletown, Connecticut) on the lock plate of the weapon. Robert Johnson was one of the last manufacturers of the 1836 Model U.S. Army Flintlock Pistol. It still made its way into the category of a "Sea Service" pistol by adding a belt hook on the side plate. This handsome well-balanced .54- Caliber Army Pistol produced between 1836 and 1844 by Robert Johnson and ASA Waters. There were only 41,000 of these pistols made. There are barrel touch marks that read US/EB/P. This pistol is in fine working condition. The wood stock also has two touch marks with letters in two circles. Flintlocks like this one have been known to have been used in the civil war and found on battle sites along the east coast. The overall condition of this Flintlock is in excellent condition, with a beautiful rustic patina. Overall Length of pistol is 14". Reference; "Boarders Away II" by Gilkerson, pg 275

RARE Mid-1700's 9 Foot Unknown Shipwreck Iron Cannon - Spanish, European salvaged from the ocean

One of our largest (and heaviest) items of this auction is a highly prized Rare Mid-1700’s 9 Foot Iron Shipwreck Cannon. This fully intact, and perfectly patinated, cannon was found on an unidentified shipwreck site some 27 years ago. The cannon has been in a private collection ever since. It has slowly been stabilized, without removing any of the sea encrustations from inside the barrel, for authenticity purposes. As you can see from the photos, everything about this cannon is well defined. From the reinforcing rings, muzzle, and right down to the side trunnions. Even the cascabel, on the base, is in superb condition. Everything you could want in a ocean salvaged Iron Cannon; Size, Condition, Age, Shipwrecked, and Rarity.

The origin of this cannon is most likely European, dated from 1750-1780, probably most likely Spanish, because of its design, shape, and characteristics. This piece is so rare, because most iron objects dissolve very rapidly at the bottom of the Ocean floor, not to mention, storms and wave action over 220 to 250 years, adding to the deterioration. Cannons like this one, and of this size, rarely survive in good enough condition to be salvaged, and go through the very costly expense of the ADV 5 year process of cleaning and stabilizing iron cannons, making this a highly prized piece. The measurements of this cannon are: Overall Length 105”, Width on outer edges of center trunnions is 23”, Height at Muzzle is 12”, Weight approx 4,000 to 5,000 lbs., Height at Center of Cannon is 14”, At base of Cannon is 19”. Please Note that the trunnions are in Great condition making this cannon easy to be displayed on a custom carriage.

This set-up is for display only, as we do not recommend for use in your pool party next summer. This absolutely lovely pair of doors came out of the Presbyterian Church, built by Henry Flagler, in St. Augustine, Florida, in the 1970's where they had been stored for the previous 70 years or so. They were originally designed to be in the conservatory?, but were eventually removed. Given to a private individual that was working on the building, in the 1970's, they were since kept in storage until a recent Estate Liquidation. They have a commanding presence at 86.75"T x 29"W x 2"D. The cast metal inserts measure at 16.5"W x 47"T. they have a wonderful old lock, and door bell that have a Makers mark, "Oct 23, 1860, Taylor S. Patent". Have a great patina and would make a wonderful addition to any architectural salvage collector.

Antique Wood “Dead Eye” recovered from the English Channel, from an unidentified Shipwreck, dates circa 19th century. There are two Dead Eyes in this auction that were found by the same salvage diver in the same year. This Dead Eye is made out of Lignum Vitae trade wood, which is very hard and dense. “Dead Eyes” were carved to be used as pulleys, to attach the rigging and sails to the old ships and galleons, before the invention of the wheel pulley. It Measures 8.5” wide and 5” in depth. With a flattened band pattern circling the outside. This Rare find is in great condition with customary wear and gorgeous patina from the ocean environment.

This great pair of Native American Indian Staffs are both hand-carved wood. The longest one measures at 23.75"L, and carved like a totem, with a birds head as the point. The second one measures at 16.5"L and is carved to look like a spear, with a band of very worn leather around the neck, and a pair of mother of pearl circle accents on each side. Both are in nice condition.

Rare Cased Model 2 .28 Caliber Colt Root Revolver Pistol in Box w/ Flask, Bullet Mold, Tin, & More

This cased model 2, .28 Caliber Colt Root Pistol is serial number 37XX, and was manufactured in 1855, the very first year of production. It comes with an original Wooden Colt Case with tan lining. The Root has approx. 30% Bluing, 85% cylinder scene, and 35% varnish on the grip. The color is some blue, and a smooth gray overall. The pictures show pretty well the overall look, but as photos vary the colors may not be exact. This piece is gorgeous, and must be seen to appreciate the quality. The serial number matches on the barrel, frame, and cylinder. The action is crisp and tight and functions as it should. Grip screw is missing.

The case bottom has most likely been relined and a couple of the partitions are a little loose. However, there are no cracks in the lid. The case also contains a Colt's Patent .28 caliber iron bullet mold, and eagle on the hump powder flask, which has been cleaned, an Eley cap tin, and a non-colt screwdriver.

The gun is described as accurately as we can, trying to be as modest as possible. Look at the photos and decide if she is for you!

Antique Nautical C. Mid 1500's Shipwreck Spanish Steel Rapier Blade 1681 "Chaperon" w/ Catalog

In 1681 a Spanish Galleon, Nao Ship, “Chaperon”, Commanded by the Marques de Bienes, had taken on treasure and set sail from Porto Bello. It was struck by a storm that scattered many ships to various places near, the coast of Panama. The merchant ship Chaperon sank at the mouth of the Charges River with eleven men lost, and all of its treasures. This salvaged steel rapier blade was one of the few lucky steel artifacts to survive the shipwreck. The few steel blades that were conserved, was because of the mud from the river, which prevented the deterioration of the iron and steel artifacts. This steel rapier blade is 41” in length x 5/8” wide. These blades are very rare, as many of the few that were found, di not many survive the cleaning an preservation process. These blades were said to have been prepared for trade, because the Spanish Military stopped using this length of rapier at the end of the 1500’s. This blade was manufactured in Toledo, Spain in the mid 1500’s, and predates the wreck by at least 100 years. The rapier is in Shipwreck rustic condition and was conserved by one of the salvors of this wreck, and coated with a satin clear sealant. This artifact comes with a “Treasure Quest” Publication, dated July-August 1998, inclusive of an article documenting the Shipwreck Salvage efforts.

Antique Spanish Document Written in 1584 For Purchase of Female Negro Slave - Historical Archives

This Gorgeous Spanish Document was part of an incomplete set of official business documents found in Central America. This letter was written in 1584, and describes the purchase of a Female Negro Slave for 450 Pesos. The document has been notated in the margin, where the purchase is detailed in the document. The Beautiful Calligraphy and Large amount of Signatures is not only incredible to look at, but distinguish that this must have been a very important document. These Documents were probably intended to be stored in Spanish Archives in Bolivia but, did obviously not make it. The Spanish document is mounted in a double paned enclosure, one side glass and one side plastic, set into a rustic wood frame measuring 17 ½” x 14 ½ “ wide. The document is approximately 12 ½” high x 8 ½” wide. Gorgeous patina, and amazing condition for a piece of this age.

This 2.54 CTW Estate Diamond Ring mounted in 14K two-tone gold is Heart Stopping Gorgeous!. It is mounted with 7 large round brilliant-cut diamonds and with 4 smaller round brilliant-cut diamonds set under and surrounding the center solitaire diamond.

The center solitaire diamond has an approx measured weight of 1/2 carat. The diamond has a clarity of (SI-2) with a near colorless color of (G-H). The 4 surrounding round brilliant-cut diamonds are approx one-fifth total measured carat weight. The diamonds have an average clarity of (SI-2), with an average near colorless color of (G-H). The two round brilliant-cut side diamonds of the solitaire stone have an approx total measured weight of .74 Cts. The diamonds have an average clarity of (SI-1) and an average near colorless color of (G-H). The 4 matching round brilliant-cut diamonds in the matching band have an approx measured total carat weight of 1.30Cts. The diamonds have an average clarity of (SI-2) with an average near colorless color of (G-H). One of the end diamonds in the band, has a very small fleabite chip on the very edge, but is very difficult to see.

This mounting is made of two individual rings soldered together. One ring has a very unique custom four prong mount with four two prong diamonds. Mounted underneath the two side diamonds are four prong set. The matching band has four, four prong set diamonds. The ring is made of two-tone 14K gold. The tops of the mountings are made of white gold and the shanks are made of yellow gold. The ring has a total mounted gram weight of 6.5 Grams, and an approximate total mounted diamond weight of 2.54 Cts. This antique diamond ring has a total appraised value of $6,500 US dollars. This commanding piece is in Excellent Condition, and measures at 87.5"T x 19"D x 29"W. It is complete, and has come from a non-smoking environment. It has 9 hanging silver chimes, and 3 gold tone Weights, and a gold tone pendulum. The face is two-tone, and says, "Howard Miller, Germany". It has the rotating pictoral scene, depicting the Moon & Sun. It works beautifully and sounds divine, with all the highs and lows. It has beveled glass accents, and has a door on either side for maintenance. It is registered Serial # 227950. The original paper label is on the back, and reads, "Model 610-158, Directions for No. 195 Triple Chime, Cable Driven Tubular movement". Wood is a deep rich hue, with a burled walnut fleck finish. It is much prettier in person, than the photos can capture. Would blend well with light or dark woods.

A Black Hat signed "Schmo" with arms and feet, that needs a key to wind (not present), but appears to be in working condition. Salvaged 1784 El Cazador Spanish Shipwreck Silver Eight Reale and a One Reale Encrusted Coin Clump

This is the most unique coin clump in the collection that we have to offer. This clump contains one silver Spanish Eight Reale Screw Press Bust Dollar, and a rare One Reale Silver Screw Press Bust Dollar, that are still encrusted, just as they were found when salvaged in the 2002 expedition of the El Cazador dive season. For your info, there is a huge demand for One Reale Coins from the El Cazador, and very few were found, when compared to the amount of the Eight Reale Coins salvaged.

The Shipwreck That Changed America. On January 11, 1784, the Spanish Brigantine of War, El Cazador, sailed from Vera Cruz, Mexico, to New Orleans carrying 450,000 pesos of silver coins (today’s approx. value of $200 million). The King of Spain, Carlos III (1759-1788), had intended the coins on board to be used to redeem the nearly worthless paper currency that was then in circulation, in Spanish territorial Louisiana.

The El Cazador never made her destination, when the vessel, crew, and cargo sank into the ocean, disappearing without a trace. The ill-fated treasure was to have stabilized the Spanish monetary system in colonial North America. After the loss, Spain’s North American Holding weakened severely. The King of Spain was forced to either sell or trade Louisiana.

In 1800’s, a reluctant King Carlos IV (1788-1808), Conveyed Louisiana to France’s Napoleon. Three years later in 1803, Emperor Napoleon sold Louisiana to President Thomas Jefferson for $15 Million. With the loss of the El Cazador, the destiny of the United States was changed. The territory owned by the United States size was instantly doubled.

1679 Dated Pirate Attacked Spanish Shipwrecked "Consolacion" Silver Treasure Cob Coin - 8 Reales

This Spanish Cob Type Shipwreck Silver Eight Reale Coin is Dated 16(79), and was minted during the Reign of Carlos II, in Potosi. It has a grade of Fine, and the Assayers Mark “V”. This coin comes with a “Certificate of Authenticity of An Historical Artifact” documenting its historical merit, and is artifact Number 179-8189.

The Story of the “Treasure of the Consolacion 1681”. In April of 1681, a fleet of Spanish treasure galleons were to leave the port of Lima, Peru, with the last few years of minted gold and silver coins from Potosi mints. The Santa Maria De la Consolacion was delayed in Chili, forcing the rest of the fleet to leave the port, and leaving the Consolacion to finish the journey to Panama alone.

Upon leaving Peru with the Consolacions new cargo of treasure alone, the ship was sighted by pirates, and the Captain decided to ground the ship. Tragically, the ship struck a reef off the island of Santa Clara within the bay of Guayaquil, Ecuador, which was nicknamed by the Spanish, “Isla de Muerto” ( Island of the Dead ). The galleon was soon evacuated and set on fire to prevent any pillaging. Neither pirates, nor returning Spaniards were able to recover all of the sunken treasure.

The center emerald-cut Columbian emerald measuring 14.5mm x 16.2mm has an approx mounted weight of 20 carats. This vibrant medium light green emerald is very clear and rare for its large size. You literally have to see it, to believe the beauty of it. It is vibrantly alive. The necklace contains thirty-six, round fancy-cut diamonds, that are pave set throughout the pendant. Antique Late 1700's, Early 1800's Precussion Cap Kentucky Style Rifle "Warranted" Etched Gun Firearm

This late 1700's to Early 1800's Kentucky style rifle was converted from Flintlock to percussion cap sometime during it's extensive history. The barrel is octagular and measures 37 ¼" long. The word "warranted" is etched on the side of the lock plate, along with Decorative Etching on the plate as well. The ramrod appears to be a replacement, and there is old minor damage to the barrel stock (small chip in the wood, as photo'd). Overall length of the rifle is 53". The rifle is in overall good condition, with a fabulous patina.

Unmarked or partially marked secondary martial rifles were made by a great many well known professionals, as well as unrecorded, backwoods gunsmiths in varying degrees of quality, size and shapes. This British Navy Brass Ships Lamp is in new condition, painted gray, with a red lens. It is marked, "All Round Light Red - BT-400 - Cert No. BT" and also "IP56" It has numbers written on several places of the red lens. Overall measurements are approximately 14" and if you extend both handles on the top and bottom you can add another 5 to 6" each. On the inside of the lamp, we found a paper document from Denmark, that certifies the lamp from 1979. It states that, "This lantern complies with "The International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972." It is hand signed. Very nice addition to the piece. Great Condition!

1740 Hollandia Dutch Shipwreck Spanish Silver Spanish Silver Screw Press Pillar Dollar Treasure Coin

This Dutch Shipwreck Coin, is a Spanish Silver Screw Press pillar dollar, with a denomination of Silver Eight Reale. It is Dated 1740., and was minted in the Mexico city mint, during the reign of Phillip V. The grade of this coin is fine. This Coin has an accompanying Certificate of Origin, and was recovered from the Dutch East Indiaman ‘Hollandia,’ which sank off the Isles of Scilly, on her maiden voyage from Amsterdam to Batavia, in July 1743, with the loss of all hands. She was carrying a cargo of silver for trading in the Far East. Her displacement was approximately 700 tons, her length 150 feet, and she carried approximately 40 guns. The wreck was discovered by Divers in September of 1971.

Mid 1700's to Late 1700's Revolutionary War Period Iron Cannon Bar Shot Antique Ammunition - RARE

This fine example of Iron Bar Shot has been conserved and is in great condition. Approx 9" in length and 2 ¾" wide at ends. Revolutionary period of 1750-1780's.

Along with invention of new weaponry, ammunition would see it's evolution as well. In the days of the sailing ships, all types of cannon shot were developed to inflict maximum damage from the cannons. Among them, was Iron bar shot, designed to take down the mast and rigging of opponents vessels, and to inflict far more damage than that of typical round cannon balls. They were made mostly of iron, and have been dug up and found on shipwrecks from around the world. Finding Bar Shot in decent condition is quite rare because of its iron metal content, it did not usually survive the elements. Most Bar shot that has survived is usually land found, as was this fine artifact.

This vintage Ships Binnacle is all original, with matching parts. The Compass is made by C. Plath, of Hamburg, Germany, with the company logo on the brass compass ring. It is Serial number #2405. The Binnacle is a gorgeous hard wood, with a nice rich color, and the condition is very good. It has 3 little wooden hatch compartments that open up, and both the green and red ball are present. The Binnacle is missing it's name plate, but should be made in Germany, as well. Overall Dimensions are; 60" Tall and 32" in diameter.

This Dutch Shipwreck Spanish Silver Screw Press Pillar Dollar, is a Silver Eight Reale Coin, Dated 1737. This coin was minted in the Mexico City Mint, during the reign of Phillip V. The grade of this coin is very fine, especially for a shipwreck coin. This Coin has an accompanying Certificate of authenticity showing that it was recovered from the wreck of the Dutch East Indiaman (VOC) Rooswijk, which sank off the English coast, on the treacherous Goodwin Sands, with the loss of all in the month of December 1739.

The denomination of this Gold Coin is Two Escudo. This coin was minted between 1598-1621, during the Reign of Phillip III. It has a grade of fine, and was minted in Seville, Spain. This late 1700's Revolutionary War period Iron Spontoon was carried by infantry officer's as a staff weapon, it's iron head derived from the style of a pike. This is a fine example of a well preserved spontoon. It measures 19 ¼ in length and 2" in width. The socket is in excellent condition.

Spontoons were used in European armies until the first half of the 19th century. Most were shaped like this one, with a broad head, shaped like a pike. Reference; "Arms & Weapons" by Tarassuk I Blair, pg. 447

Antique Early 1800's Japanese Matchlock Rifle Firearm

This primitive 19th Century Japanese Match lock rifle was brought as near to mechanical perfection as possible in the hands of the Japanese. Gunsmiths forged it of brass, with an Iron Pan and a wooden stock. The iron barrel on this matchlock is octagon, and of very good quality and demonstrative of the remarkable high standard of Japanese metallurgy. Weapon measures 52 ½" overall length and the ram rod is not original. This is a very unique matchlock and is in great condition.

Firearms were introduced into Japan by the Portuguese in 1543. Never very popular in warfare, firearms were used more for sport and hunting. The matchlock mechanism was used with guns and pistols up to the middle of the 19th century.

Antique Early 1800's Matched Set of British Brass Screw Barrel Box Lock Flint Lock Dueling Pistols

This matched set of Brass Box-Lock Flintlock Pistols are a Fine RARE example of how two pistols can remain together for almost 180 years. Both pieces have the makers touch mark on the bottom of the guns (a crown with the letter F under it). One pistol has a (1) marked on the under side of it, but the (2) on the other gun is not visible, and appears as though it could have been worn off. Both pistols have the visual and proof touch marks, as well as "London" Engraved on each side. The Silver inlay on both guns is intact and in great condition. Both Flintlocks are in fine working condition, with the minor exception of one pistol missing the top claw that holds the flint in for firing. Both barrels unscrew easily, and measure 8 ¼ in length. These pistols have beautiful patina and were a very popular model pistol of British Firearm owners in the early to mid 1800's. Reference; "British Pistols and Guns", Glendernning

Vintage Colt Root - Model 6 Revolver Pistol Firearm Weapon

This Model 6 Colt Root Firearm is serial number 10XXX, manufactured in 1866. The serial number matches on the barrel, frame, and cylinder. The Root has approximately, 40% Bluing, 80% cylinder scene, and 65% varnish on the grip. The action is a slight bit loose, and does not hold at half cock, but does hold at full cock. Overall this is a great example of the model 6 Root.

Alaskan American Indian Seal Skin Bag/Pouch, Inuit Ulu Knife w/Caribou Handle, & Ivory Utensil

This fabulous lot includes, a handmade antique Seal Skin Bag or Pouch that has white beaded accents edging the top and opening, red wool? accents at the top of the pouch, and a thick linen? type fabric backing. There is a small area of missing beads at the opening of the pouch. Has a Blue string tied at the top, as if it was used to hang it. Bag is in excellent condition overall for it's age, with very minor wear. It measures, approx. 8"T x 6.5"W. PLEASE NOTE: JUST FOUND... We were looking inside this bag, and found a small handwritten note that says, Side 1 - "This came from Alaska. Uncle Hugh Becket brot it to me one one of his trips home - he was a Yukon - miner about 1898" Side 2, "This is in Mary Bicket Starks handwriting (other side), Bicket & Becket are the same name. Grace Stork Akins grandpa Bicket (Mary's Father) changed his name to Bicket when he came to North America. All of his brothers did not change their name from Becket." Very Neat!

Next we have a primitive knife with a bone or horn handle. It has a paper taped to it that says, "Woman's Knife Inuit Ulu Knife with Caribou Handle". The metal blade is shaped like an eye, and is metal, with very rustic patina, but in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. The handle appears to be bone or horn? The measurements are 5.5"L x 3"T.

And finally, we have a ivory or bone? carved blade or utensil that is very smooth, and looks as if they were carving to be a blade or have a sharp edge. It measures at 4.5"L x 5/8" W.

European Short Sword C. Mid-1800's Modeled From Roman Gladius Short Sword

Broadly based on the Roman Gladius Short Sword, this great representation and very popular short sword, was used in many European countries during the middle of the 1800’s. The hilts were commonly made of brass, with grips that had a ribbed textured design. The pommel is plain, with round circle designed quillions. This double edged short sword was often used in the artillery division and was eventually copied by the U.S. and used here during the civil war. This short sword is in great condition, with a nicely patinated blade, with a small nick in the tip. The hilt is in great condition with very minor scratches, and still has the original leather strip attached between the hilt and blade. Over all length of this European short sword is 22 ½ inches.

It appears to be complete, and has a alligator finish to the body. the wood writing board, appears to have either been stripped or replaced, showing a beautiful golden oak color. It is very heavy, and seems to have it's guts. The earpiece is marked, "Stromberg Carlson Mfg. Co. Rochester Pats. June 12 - Nov 27 94". The mouthpiece is marked, "The Williams Telephone & Supply Co., Cleveland, OH". When you turn the crank handle, the bell tinkles nicely. Wood case is in good condition, but could use a good cleaning. This Browning Arms Company, 12 Gauge or .28 Gauge Shotgun is in Excellent Condition. It measures at 44.5" Long, with a vented barrel length of 28". It is a model 525, and has extensive engraving on the receiver plates. It has a gold adjustable pull trigger. The markings on it read, "Browning Arms Company, Morgan, Utah & Montreal, P.Q., Made in Japan / Miroku" on one side of the barrel, & "Invector-Plus Citori Special Steel 12GA - 2 3/4" ". The number 525 is marked on the bottom of the satin grey receiver. This gun is absolutely gorgeous. The quality, craftsmanship, and condition are all superb. The adjustable stock is a satiny walnut, that just pops out at you, and also has an adjustable shoulder pad, to customize the fit. It has a full pistol grip, with checkerboard stock. Comes with a Plastic Box of Seminole Chokes for 12Ga. to include; Skeet, IMOD, FULL, IMP CYL, MOD. It also has two plastic Tubes that say, 1/4 Imp. Cyl. & 1/2 Mod. with Chokes, or tubes in them. Also includes extra barrel tubes to change it to a 28 gauge.

This antique percussion pistol is in beautiful condition and is in fine working order. This is a great piece depicting the Evolution of American Firearm History.

This 1850's American single shot, muzzle loading percussion pistol is of particularly small size, which took its name from its maker J.H. Derringer of Philadelphia (1786-1868). It was very popular as a pocket pistol from the 1840's. This 2 ½" barrel version, made for A.J. Plate, became infamous from the Lawsuit filed by Derringer's family for infringing upon Derringers name and style, with the same walnut checkered stock and the fine engraved silver mountings. It has a 14K Yellow gold clasp (stamped) bar design, engraved and beaded with pinch slide bar forming the clasp. This bracelet is hand-made with six squares 18 x 18mm, Cloisonne on one side (floral design), and Mosaic inlaid on the front side. Stones present are turquoise, grey feldspar, golden feldspar, natural pearls. These are all set into mosaic squares that are 24K gold gilded overlay on base metal, and knotted on silk. There is an appraisal included from Madalyn's Direct Diamond Importers, of St. Augustine, FL. It Appraises the value at $3,500, on 7/23/02. This is a lovely antique one-of-a-kind piece. Antique Wood “Dead Eye” recovered from the English Channel, from an unidentified Shipwreck, dates circa 19th century. There are two Dead Eyes in this auction that were found by the same salvage diver in the same year. This Dead Eye is made out of lignum Vitae trade wood, which is very hard and dense. “Dead Eyes” were carved to be used as pulleys, to attach the rigging and sails to the old ships and galleons, before the invention of the wheel pulley. It Measures 8.5” wide and 5” in depth. With a rounded groove pattern circling the outside. This Rare find is in great condition with customary wear and gorgeous patina from the ocean environment.

This Shipwreck Spanish Cob Coin, from the “Consolacion” is mounted in a custom 14KT Gold Bezel Pendant. The denomination is a Silver One Reale, Dated (16)”76”, and was minted during the Reign of Carlos II, in Potosi. It has a grade of Fine, and the Assayers mark “E”. This piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity of An Historical Artifact” documenting its historical merit, and is artifact Number 3379514.

The Story of the “Treasure of the Consolacion 1681”. In April of 1681, a fleet of Spanish treasure galleons were to leave the port of Lima, Peru, with the last few years of minted gold and silver coins from Potosi mints. The Santa Maria De la Consolacion was delayed in Chili, forcing the rest of the fleet to leave the port, and leaving the Consolacion to finish the journey to Panama alone.

Upon leaving Peru with the Consolacions new cargo of treasure alone, the ship was sighted by pirates, and the Captain decided to ground the ship. Tragically, the ship struck a reef off the island of Santa Clara within the bay of Guayaquil, Ecuador, which was nicknamed by the Spanish, “Isla de Muerto” ( Island of the Dead ). The galleon was soon evacuated and set on fire to prevent any pillaging. Neither pirates, nor returning Spaniards were able to recover all of the sunken treasure.

RARE Salvaged 1784 El Cazador Spanish Shipwreck Silver Eight Reale Encrusted Coin Clump- Six Coins

This is the best coin clump offered in this auction, due to the number of coins in the clump, the more coins, the rarer they get. This coin clump contains Six Eight Reale Spanish Screw Press Bust Dollars from the El Cazador Shipwreck, that were salvaged in the 2002 expedition, and are in very rare encrusted form.

The Shipwreck That Changed America. On January 11, 1784, the Spanish Brigantine of War, El Cazador, sailed from Vera Cruz, Mexico, to New Orleans carrying 450,000 pesos of silver coins (today’s approx. value of $200 million). The King of Spain, Carlos III (1759-1788), had intended the coins on board to be used to redeem the nearly worthless paper currency that was then in circulation, in Spanish territorial Louisiana.

The El Cazador never made her destination, when the vessel, crew, and cargo sank into the ocean, disappearing without a trace. The ill-fated treasure was to have stabilized the Spanish monetary system in colonial North America. After the loss, Spain’s North American Holding weakened severely. The King of Spain was forced to either sell or trade Louisiana.

In 1800’s, a reluctant King Carlos IV (1788-1808), Conveyed Louisiana to France’s Napoleon. Three years later in 1803, Emperor Napoleon sold Louisiana to President Thomas Jefferson for $15 Million. With the loss of the El Cazador, the destiny of the United States was changed. The territory owned by the United States size was instantly doubled.

This Rare H&R .410-12M/M Shotgun is a sweet little gun. It is in fairly good condition for it's age, with a few dings, nicks and chips in the wood out of the stock. Has original black butt plate, w/ H&R logo. Stamp on side of gun says, "Harrington & Richardson Arms Co., Worcester, Mass., USA Pat Feb 27.1900" which the stamp looks as if it is a possible double stamp, as if it is a bit blurry because it was a manufacturer double hit. Very nice though. The interior bore is in very nice condition, and the outside could use a good clean, but we believe the gun is still operational. It has a hole in the end of the barrel, where it looked as if a very long time ago, there was a site. Serial number is 77131. Measures 41" Long. They contain the traditional features of short blades, two or three short fullers, a turned down shell guard and simple D-Shaped knuckle bow. The grip is leather over wood. This sword is in great condition especially for a weapon used in everyday life. There are minor nicks in the blade with a nice patina throughout the sword. This sword was found in an attic in St. Augustine, Fl, which was founded by the Spanish in 1565. Overall length 39"

During the Reign of “Alexander the Great “, many new foundries were opened in order to support his high payroll demand for the armies fighting and marching their way across Europe, in his campaign to conquer the world. This fine example is rare, in it’s quality and condition, compared to many of the Alexander coins found on archaeological digs around Europe.

The Obverse side, has the Bust of Hercules, wearing the skin of a lion over his head. The Reverse side has the figure of Zeus, enthroned, holding a scepter in one hand and “Winged Victory” Bird in his other. This fabulous little lot has a Mechanical Racing Trotter, in original box, Trademark Mikuni, Made in Japan. He measures at 7.5"L, and when you wind him up he works. The string reins that connects the rider to the horse, have broken from age, and needs a simple replacement. The Mechanical Hippopotamus , made by Yanoman, Made in Japan, comes in the original box. This thing is too cute... when you winde her up she chomps and rolls along. there is supposed to be a butterfly hooked the the metal wire poking ou of the top, that is missing, that she is trying to catch, also her tail looks like it used to be longer. Measures at 6"L and runs nicely.

You could be taken for a ride with this little Merry Go Round Carousel Bank, with a bit of surface rust , it could use a good cleaning. It has some original red paint left, and is missing the hole cover where the change comes out of the bottom. Measures at 4.5"W x 4.75"T. No makers mark found.

Larger Late 1800's Religous Antique Crucifix Cross Pendant w/ Rare Skull & Cross-Bones

This lovely larger crucifix cross measures 2 7/8" W x 5 ½” Tall. The crucifix is made of a brassy type metal with inlaid wood. It has the figure of Christ, with the Skull and Cross Bones mounted on the inlaid wood.

There have been many types of crucifixes through history, but those bearing the symbol of the skull and crossbones are somewhat rare, as this symbol was only used up until the late 1800’s, early 1900’s, depending upon where they were made. The skull and crossbones, at the feet of Jesus, symbolized his victory over death. It was to remind Christians that Jesus Christ was crucified by the Romans at “Mount Calvary” (Latin Calvaria - Meaning Skull) or “Golgotha” (meaning the hill of skulls), and then rose from the dead on Easter Sunday. This symbol was used on all crucifixes, until it became popular with pirates, and thus gained negative connotations.

This machine pays one line, and takes up to 3 quarters per play, for up to 3 times the payout. $80 in quarters are included in the machine, for testing purposes. This machine works, and is a lot of fun! The photos shown are of it lit up, and you will notice one photo is of one line-up, then we took another photo of another line-up to show the wheels turning. Great Showpiece! We thought it might be identical to the Model 803, except this one has the 3 coin slot, rather than just the one. Vintage Pre-1938 .25 ACP German Mauser W.T.R.-6.35 w/ 2 Magazines & New Gun Grips

This is an original German Mauser from the early 1920's, which has the grip screws on the rear, making it a pre-1938 version of this model. It has the original magazine clip and an after-market magazine. Overall condition is good, with normal wear, as shown in photos, for a gun from this period. Has brand new Mauser grips on it.

In the 1920's Mauser brought out their W.T.P., Westen-Taschen-Pistole, which means Vest Pocket Pistol. It is a well made and finished gun, very compact, and comfortable to shoot. The WTP has a magazine safety that prevents the gun from being shot with the magazine removed.

This Firearm does require a Background Check.

They are described as, Numerous rectangular & square-shaped step cut natural Emeralds, exact weight 20.30Ct. Clarity is I-2, type III, medium light, moderately strong, very slightly bluish green color, (GIA vsblG 4/4), cut is good.

This Antique, Tintype image is believed to be shot post mortem, and is of an unidentified Yankee Officer, and mounted on CDV stock with Connecticut back mark. It measures at 4"T x 2.25"W. Back reads, "Miniatures. Taken by J.L. & H.A. Jordan, Main Street, near State St., New London, CT". This has been mounted in a protective plastic Card Holder Case.
