Early WW2 Early WW2

Early WW2 "Kokubunji/Nagoya" Imperial Japanese Type 14 Nambu Pistol. USMC Iwo-Jima Vet

Lot #4 (Sale Order 5 of 264)

The markings in the top row identify the pistol as a product of designer Kijiro Nambu’s own firm, the Nambu Rifle Mfg. Co., which later merged and became known as Chuo Kogyo. The first symbol in the upper left is the symbol of Nagoya Arsenal, which supervised production. The second symbol just to the left of the serial number is a stylized version of the character Nan or Nam, the first character in Nambu’s name. These pistols were made in the Kokubunji factory and are therefore known by collectors as either Kokubunji Type 14s or “Nagoya Nambus”. The second row shows the date as Showa 14.7 which indicates a year and month production date of 1939. July. In very good overall condition with original factory finish exhibiting normal period wear. Action functions smoothly. Bore exhibits wear and is in good condition. Tag attached to the lanyard loop indicates this pistol was a WW2 USMC soldier bring back and was captured on the island of Iwo Jima by USMC Sgt. Hank Korkoski in February of 1945. (Must Ship To FFL Dealer If purchaser does not have a C&R Or FFL License. If NC resident, a current Concealed Hand Gun Permit or Pistol Purchase Permit is required along with a completed 4473 form.)

WWII SA Political Leader Gorget W/Chain-Both Stamped “RZM M1/128” -Original Storage Case

Lot #55a (Sale Order 60 of 264)

One of the Gorget tabs and both starter chain links are stamped “RZM M1/128” For the scarce and desirable maker "Eugen Schmidhäussler of Pforzheim". The tab that is not RZM stamped is slightly larger in width as is typical with this maker. Excellent detail throughout. The original gold tone finish is still bright exhibiting the original factory lacquer which hasn't darkened with age quite as much as most examples found, most likely due to being stored in the original "leatherette" covered thick cardboard storage case. All 31 rectangular chain links are present and exhibit moderate age patina darkening. The reverse green felt backing is in excellent condition not exhibiting much wear at all. This is a stellar example of a German mid-WWII style Sturmabteilung (SA) Political Leader's Gorget. These would be worn at meetings and even in the field, to make it clear who was of a higher rank. Similar gorgets were used in other parts of the NSDAP organizational structure.

Rare Double Sided Nazi Police Unit/Battalion Pennant/Wimpel Rare Double Sided Nazi Police Unit/Battalion Pennant/Wimpel

Rare Double Sided Nazi Police Unit/Battalion Pennant/Wimpel

Lot #57 (Sale Order 62 of 264)

From an advanced WW2 Nazi Police Collector's estate. This example was acquired many years ago from a WW2 vet the collector stated. The collector is now in his 90's stated this pennant was one of his prized Nazi Police items in his collection! Double sided example has reinforcement stitching at the tip, along the straight edge and has horizontal reinforcement stitching in the corners where the pole ties are. The pole ties exhibit wear and appear to have been cut from the pole. Bevo embroidered Police eagle insignia on each side. The unit/district numbers are bar stitched on each side which was done in the early 3rd Reich period before chain stitching became more common. No reaction to UV lighting. The red base material is a fine wool construction. The swastika is printed onto a fine white wool circle which is stitched to the red wool base on each side. We have had several advanced collector's look at this and response was nearly 100% positive with the main issue being that Nazi Police Unit designated pennants are extremely rare and is almost impossible to compare to other examples. The construction is certainly indicative of 3rd Reich era. In our opinion and having examined in hand, we believe it to be an original period example but please bid based on your own knowledge, expertise and/or research!

Lot #97 (Sale Order 110 of 264)

early die struck example with sharp detail. This badge still retains quite a bit of the original factory silver finish. No maker markings evident but details and reverse pin/catch assembly can more than likely be attributed to the high quality firm of Gustav Brehmer. Original Luftwaffe Flak Artillery Badge award document named to Luftwaffe "Obergefreiten Karl Treuter 1./Lei. Flakabt. 914". The award date of the document is "24.1.44" Fairly unusual for an early war constructed badge to be awarded late war, but is also not so uncommon. The document is signed by a Luftwaffe General der Flieger and is numbered in the lower left corner. Period blue leatherette issue case with "Flak=Kampf=Abz." embossed on the top in gold lettering.

Stellar Example! M1936 SS Officer's Chained Dagger-Rare "Copper" Grip Insignia-Type 2 Chain

Lot #107 (Sale Order 121 of 264)

Acquired from a WW2 Vet estate several years ago by a West Virginia collector and has never been "messed" with. We have had one of our most respected and knowledgeable dagger collectors give this example the thumbs up all the way around! The scarce copper insignia option is only found on these later war grips and always seem to have an anodized scabbard. Motto is crisp. Scabbard is in overall excellent condition and does exhibit a small dent just below the upper scabbard fitting as shown. The type2/B2 magnetic steel chain is in superb condition still retaining a lot of the original black burnish finish. If you only wanted SS Officer's chained dagger in your collection that is a truly unmessed with example, then this is the one!

Rare Exclamation Motto SS Dagger W/Scabbard For EM-"RZM 324/38 SS" Maker-Klittermann & Moog?

Lot #109 (Sale Order 123 of 264)

Rare example in very good overall collectible condition. This dagger was originally purchased from the highly regarded and reputable dealer Thomas Wittmann. Please see the original description as written by Mr. Wittmann and the photos for condition. This RZM 324/38 SS Dagger is a very rare and desirable dagger, of a type that is highly prized among the collecting community. The blade is etched with “Meine Ehre heißt Treue!” with an exclamation point, a feature not typically encountered on SS daggers in general. Some have speculated that these pieces may have been specially presented or attributed to an elite SS unit; However, there is no official documentation that supports this. The maker of these RZM 324/38 pieces is not known with certainty but it has been suggested this was a code for the firm of Klittermann & Moog and is an example that is missing from most collections!

Waffen SS Latvian Grenadier Volunteer Uniform Collar Cut Offs. Metal SS Runic Insignia Waffen SS Latvian Grenadier Volunteer Uniform Collar Cut Offs. Metal SS Runic Insignia

Waffen SS Latvian Grenadier Volunteer Uniform Collar Cut Offs. Metal SS Runic Insignia

Lot #147 (Sale Order 163 of 264)

This type of theater applied metal SS runic insignia when found, is usually attributed to the 15th Waffen SS Latvian Volunteer Grenadier Division. Both collar tabs have a ribbed cloth construction. The metal runes do have the 2 wide prongs for attachment at the top and bottom edges of each rune. Each are still sewn to the cut off collars. The rank tab has a silver thread stripe indicating the rank of SS STURMMANN. The base material under the collars is HBT. There is no reaction to UV lighting These particular cut off collar points are from an older and advance collection. Being theater made and compared to known original examples, the configuration of both tabs appear to be very similar. There are known post war copies floating around out there in the collector's market so please bid based upon your own knowledge, expertise and/or research when determining the authenticity of these tabs.

Small collar device also with locking clasp pin with the same hallmarks. Single dog tag with full length ball chain named to "CARL J GOLDEN" and is Tetanus date stamped "T44". Footnote: In 1938, the Civil Aeronautics Act transferred federal responsibilities for non-military aviation from the Bureau of Air Commerce to a new, independent agency, the Civil Aeronautics Authority. The legislation also gave the authority the power to regulate airline fares and to determine the routes that air carriers would serve. In 1940, President Franklin Roosevelt split the authority into two agencies, the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) and the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB). The CAA was responsible for air traffic control, safety programs, and airway development. The CAB was entrusted with safety rule-making, accident investigation, and economic regulation of the airlines. Although both organizations were part of the Department of Commerce, the CAB functioned independently. After the Second World War began in Europe, the CAA launched the Civilian Pilot Training Program, to provide the nation with more aviators. On the eve of America's entry into the conflict, the agency began to take over operation of airport control towers, a role that eventually became permanent. During the war, the CAA also greatly enlarged its en route air traffic control system. In 1944, the United States hosted a conference in Chicago that led to the establishment of the International Civil Aviation Organization and set the framework for future aviation diplomacy. In the post-war era, the application of radar to air traffic control helped controllers to keep abreast of the postwar boom in air transportation. In 1946, Congress gave the CAA the task of administering a federal-aid airport program aimed exclusively at promoting development of the nation's civil airports.

Black leather name tag with embossed silver Command Pilot wing and General Hackler's name. Double CONMAR zipper pulls function smoothly. It was World War II, and he was a wingman in a P-47 fighter group. He completed a 100-mission tour and was promoted to major before volunteering for a second tour. By the end of the war, he completed 119 missions and received many awards including the Silver Star; Legion of Merit; Distinguished Flying Cross; Air medals; French Croix de Guerre; and Army and Air Force Commendation medals. His flying career continued as a squadron commander in P-51s and F-86s; as a group commander in F-86s and F-100s; and as commander of the 36th Wing in Germany, flying F-105s and F-4s. Hackler was promoted to brigadier general and assigned to headquarters as deputy director of operations for the United States Air Force, Europe. In September 1956, he returned to the United States and was assigned to the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, as commander of the 354th Fighter Day Group. He delivered the first F-100 to the base in October 1956. The following year, he was appointed director of operations for the 354th Tactical Fighter Wing. In this position, Hackler was instrumental in developing a worldwide deployment capability as part of Tactical Air Command’s Composite Air Strike Force. "

SS Podium/Parade Banner-Multi Piece Construction-Bullion Fringe SS Podium/Parade Banner-Multi Piece Construction-Bullion Fringe

SS Podium/Parade Banner-Multi Piece Construction-Bullion Fringe

Lot #224 (Sale Order 247 of 264)

Very well constructed. Black wool base with separate applied white ribbed rayon blend/coarse silk SS runes. Very well articulated twisted silver bullion fringe attached with a double bordered silver bullion band with black ribbed material separating the 2 bands. The ties appear to be silk. The backing material is a coarse ribbed wool material. No reaction to UV lighting. These SS banners/flags etc. are always tough to determine as more often than not they were not RZM controlled. WE tried to research this example and could find no other similar examples WW2 period or post war period. We contacted a few advanced SS cloth collectors and this particular pattern was not a pattern that had been seen. Excellent detail and as stated earlier, very well constructed. We are certainly not stating this is an original period example and are not stating it is a post war example....Excellent display item for sure. Please bid based on your own knowledge, expertise and/or research.
