An exquisite and elegant set of Württembergische Metallwaren-Fabrik (WMF) silverplate cutlery and serving utensils, ca. 1950s Germany: - 6 dinner forks - 6 salad/dessert forks - 6 pastry / Vorspeisen / fish forks - 6 fruit knives with stainless Friodur-Prozess Henckel blades - 6 dinner knives with stainless Friodur-Prozess Henckel blades - 6 large soup / small serving spoons - 1 large serving spoon - 1 casserole / serving spoon - 2 small sauce / condiment/sugar shovel spoons - 1 fish knife - 1 butter knife - 1 cake serving knife - 1 large ladle - 1 gravy / pouring ladle - 1 original leatherette/piped linen lined tray for forks and knives Estate fresh from the family home of a German immigrant spouse of a US Army serviceman, we find a lot of fine German items in the Augusta area due to Ft. Gordon. Lovingly polished a while ago by me with Wrights Silver Cream, everything came up nicely after a long time of disuse, though needs it again. A very nice and uncommon set of WMF which is very collectible and popular mid century flatware. Very pretty and simple Art Nouveau pattern with no engraving. All correctly marked and rich in silver as is most WMF plate. All information above believed to be but not guaranteed correct, to the best of this veteran auctioneer's knowledge.
