The Packing and Shipping Fees are then between the BUYER and the third-party shipper. The BUYER assumes ALL risk of loss, upon delivery to the third-party shipper. Should BUYER reject the third-party shipper's packing and shipping charges, the Item/s will be considered abandoned, and ownership reverts to Auction Co. and/or original Seller with NO REFUND to BUYER, at which time the Auction Co. and/or Seller may resell said item/s and retain ALL proceeds as liquidated damages and related costs of removal or disposal. We strive to satisfy all our buyer's shipping needs; however, we are an auction co, not a shipping company. Our in-house shipping manager tries very hard to find the cheapest and best way to get all purchases to our buyers safe and efficiently. PLEASE DO NOT BID ON ITEMS UNLESS YOU'RE WILLING TO PAY ENTIRE COST OF SHIPPING AND HANDLING. If payment is not made or if credit card is declined, bidder assumes no ownership. Title only passes when payment clears, otherwise the item(s) are declared abandoned by you with no further claims to ownership by you and no return of funds. Registering to bid constitutes your acceptance of all aforementioned Terms: By bidding you agree to be bound by all terms and conditions. No exceptions. This is an absolute auction. All items are sold AS-IS, as pictured, with no guarantees. Any and all items left unclaimed after Monday, February 27th, 2023 will be considered abandoned. |

US Military Krag Bayonet, dated 1899 Lot #25 (Sale Order 29 of 98) US Military Krag Bayonet -1899 listed on the blade with wooden handle, U.S. Model 1892 30/40 Krag Bayonet & Cavalry Leather Scabbard. The M-1892 Bayonet, also known as the Krag Knife Bayonet for it's association with the M-1892 Krag Rifle, was the first standard production knife bayonet adopted by the U.S. Army and produced at the Springfield Armory. Production began in 1894 and continued through 1903. This particular bayonet is dated 1901 on the ricasso. Scabbard is unmarked. Measures 16in with an 11in blade. The US Army stopped issuing the Krag Jorgensen Rifle and bayonet before WW-I when they were issuing the 03-A3 Springfield Rifle (it used a different baynet). The remaining Krag bayonets were "appropriated/aquired" and cut down/modified as fighting knives(also known as 'trench knives') by soldiers during WW-I and WW-II. They were considered extremely effective for close in hand-to-hand combat. Based on the size, I would surmise that the Krag bayonet was modified to make it into a trench knife. I believe that scabbard was the original, and that it was cut down to fit the modifications made to the bayonet.

Every effort is made to have all items shipped within Fourteen (14) days. On rare occasions it may take longer (E.g. near holidays or if a particular auction has an unusually high amount of shipping). Email pmorganauctions@gmail.com with any special shipping/packing/handling requests. Once your item is packed we cannot make changes. NO SHIPPING of Large Items or Furniture. Please consult Patrick Morgan at 717-278-9202 or Dustin Spencer at 717-203-3225 PRIOR to bidding to confirm availability of shipping on larger lots. If a buyer does buy a larger item, the item, at the discretion of the in-house shipping manager, will be taken to a third-party shipper, UPS or FEDEX store, for packing and shipping. Patrick Morgan Auction Services, LLC reserves the right to charge a handling fee, not to exceed $25 per item and based on size, for delivery to the third-party shipper. |
