1973-1974 United States Mint Set Lot #2436 (Sale Order 29 of 1849) 1973-1974 United States Mint Set. Although first struck in 1971, the Ike dollar did not appear in a mint set until 1973 — and oddly enough, it would turn out that the only place to find said Eisenhower would be within the year's uncirculated set as none were produced for circulation. With a production of less than 1.8 million, the 13-coin 1973 mint set claimed the lowest output of the 1970s. An already low mintage coupled with the dismantlement of complete sets for individual Ike dollars means that far fewer remain intact for collectors today. We've paired the desirable 1973 mint set with the next 13-coin 1974 issue for a total of 26 coins; each contains Philadelphia and Denver specimens of the cent through dollar as well as an additional San Francisco penny.

Group of 2 United States Mint Set in Original Government Packaging! From 1997-1998 with 20 Coins Ins Lot #2444 (Sale Order 32 of 1849) Group of 2 United States Mint Set in Original Government Packaging! From 1997-1998 with 20 Coins Inside!. Each 1997 Mint Set includes uncirculated examples of the Kennedy Half Dollar, Washington Quarter, Roosevelt Dime, Jefferson Nickel, and Lincoln Cent. A total of ten coins are included, comprised of one example each from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. Additional tokens are included with large sized mint marks “P” and “D”. Packaging for the annual set was updated for the outer illustrated envelope. Against a marbled background was the title “The 1997 United States Uncirculated Coin Set”. Within the envelope were a certificate of authenticity signed by the Director of the Mint and two mylar packs containing the coins. The coins and token from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints were packaged separately. In many ways, the 1998 Mint Set represented the end of an era. The 1998 Mint Set contained the final Washington Quarters before the obverse design would be modified and the reverse would feature five different annual designs commemorating the states. The other coins included were the Kennedy Half Dollar, Roosevelt Dime, Jefferson Nickel, and Lincoln Cent. The ten coins were packaged in two separate mylar packs with tokens representing the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. The outer envelope depicted the circulating coins against a blue background and specifically displayed the reveres design of the quarter. The envelope carried the title “From the United States Mint… The 1998 Uncirculated Coin Set”. An additional message was included at the bottom of the envelope: “This collector’s set includes two 1998 Washington Quarter Dollars. This is the last time the heraldic eagle reverse will appear until at least 2009.”

Per Ron Guth of PCGS : The Braided Hair half cents boast some of the lowest mintages of any U.S. coin types and are among the best values, as well. Every date in this type boasts a low mintage. By way of comparison, the mintage of the any Braided hair Half Cent is almost a fraction of the mintage of the 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent (a far more valuable coin), making this an excellent value.

***Auction Highlight*** 1916-p Standing Liberty Quarter 25c Graded xf40 BY SEGS (fc) Lot #2546 (Sale Order 119 of 1849) ***Auction Highlight*** 1916-p Standing Liberty Quarter 25c Graded xf40 BY SEGS. The 1916 Standing Liberty quarter is the first issue in the series. These coins were not struck until the last two weeks of 1916, and they were released in January, 1917. The mintage is consequently very low, a mere 52,000 coins, making this issue the lowest mintage by far in the Standing Liberty quarter series and indeed one of the lowest mintage U.S. coins of the 20th century. The 1916 Standing Liberty quarter is rare in all grades and has always been a very high demand coin. Today, even extremely low grades sell in excess of $1,000. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

Proof ***Auction Highlight*** 1859 'French Head of Liberty' Pattern Half Dollar 50c Judd-241 Pollock Lot #2547 (Sale Order 120 of 1849) ***Auction Highlight*** 1859 'French Head of Liberty' Pattern Half Dollar 50c Judd-241 Pollock-297 Near TOP POP! Graded pr64 cam BY SEGS. James Longacre's so-called "French Head of Liberty" design for the half dollar. It is uncertain where the "French Head" name came from, as the portrait is obviously modeled after the Apollo Belvedere in Rome. The reverse displays 50 CENTS encompassed by a cereal wreath that is very similar to that introduced on the issued 1860 Seated dime, although much larger in scale. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Both silver and copper examples were struck with from this die pairing. It is believed that around 50 silver examples exist today. This is an all-brilliant example with good depth of reflectivity in the fields and thick mint frost over the devices. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

1957B $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades Choice AU/BU Slider Lot #2552 (Sale Order 124 of 1849) 1957B $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades Choice AU/BU Slider. On June 4th 1963, President Kennedy issued Executive Order 11110, ordering that silver certificates be phased out. No one knew it would be his last executive order, and no one knew that it would make these 1957-B Silver Certificates sought-after collectibles today. His order caused folks to take notice and save a small number of these 1957-B $1 Silver Certificates-they were only 14% of the total 1957 Silver Certs printed. These silver certificates feature George Washington, a blue seal, and the following wording: “Silver Certificate This certifies that there is on deposit in the treasury of The United States of America One Dollar In silver payable on demand”

Group of 2 United States Mint Set in Original Government Packaging! From 1974-1975 with 26 Coins Ins Lot #2556 (Sale Order 128 of 1849) Group of 2 United States Mint Set in Original Government Packaging! From 1974-1975 with 26 Coins Inside!. Group of 2 United State Mint Set from 1973-1974 included a total of 26 coins struck at three different mint facilities. In 1973, for the first time, dollar coins were included in a government packaged uncirculated coin set. The 1973 Mint Set included the Eisenhower Dollars struck at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints, notably the Eisenhower Dollars were not issued for circulation, creating a low mintage key date for the series. These two additions raised the total number of coins per set to thirteen. Each Mint Set contained three Lincoln Cents (P, D, S), two Jefferson Nickels (P, D), two Roosevelt Dimes (P, D), two Washington Quarters (P, D), two Kennedy Half Dollars (P, D), and two Eisenhower Dollars (P,D). Due to the increased number of coins included in each set, the plastic disc which had been packaged with sets for the prior five years was dropped. The five Denver Mint coins were included in one cellophane with red edges. The six Philadelphia Mint and one San Francisco Mint coin were included in a separate cellophane with blue edges. Both were placed between light cardboard within a white envelope with markings indicating “U.S. Mint” and “197_ Uncirculated Coin”.

***Auction Highlight*** 1874-p Gold Liberty Double Eagle $20 Graded ms62+ by SEGS (fc) Lot #2562 (Sale Order 134 of 1849) ***Auction Highlight*** 1874-p Gold Liberty Double Eagle $20 Graded ms62+ by SEGS. 1856-s $10 Liberty Head Gold Eagle ms61 SEGS. The 1856-S is a scarce date in circulated grades (irrespective of mintmark variety), where the population reports show it to be concentrated in Extremely Fine and About Uncirculated. Mint State pieces are very rare with 10 examples known. The lustrous surfaces of the present MS61 offering display yellow-gold coloration imbued with traces or red, and a solid strike resulted in strong definition on all design elements. Scattered, minute surface and rim marks limit the grade, yet these do not appear too be all that significant for an MS61. Tied for 6th Finest. We have included another ms61 for your comparison A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

1935A $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii WWII Emergency Currency Grades vf+ Lot #2600 (Sale Order 164 of 1849) 1935A $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii WWII Emergency Currency Grades vf+. A short snorter is a banknote inscribed by people traveling together on an aircraft. The tradition was started by Alaskan bush flyers in the 1920s and spread through the military and commercial aviation.[1][2] During World War II short snorters were signed by flight crews and conveyed good luck to soldiers crossing the Atlantic.[3] Friends would take the local currency and sign each other's bills creating a "keepsake of your buddy's signatures". The General Hoyt Vandenberg short snorter was started in June 1942 flight over the mid-Atlantic. The Harry Hopkins short snorter was collected on July 25, 1942, by an aide of Franklin D. Roosevelt at a London Conference. The D. Ray Comish short snorter was collected January 1943 at the Casablanca Conference by Dixie Clipper. The Averell Harriman short snorter was collected by him at the January 1943 Casablanca Conference as well. The General George S. Patton snorter signatures were also collected at the Casablanca Conference. The Yalta short snorter signatures were collected on February 4–11, 1945 by Steve Early at Yalta, on the Crimean Peninsula. The Note at hand is a WWII Short Snorter Signed by 13 Different Soldiers During WWII. Not Only is this a very Cool "Short Snorter" But its on a Rare $1 Hawaii. 1935a $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii, Signatures of Julian & Morgenthau Grades. It was the darkest days of World War II, just after Pearl Harbor. Everybody in Hawaii was sitting on pins and needles. Were the Japanese preparing a massive invasion of the islands? If they did invade, they could use the millions of dollars in currency on the islands to buy war material. To thwart this, these $1 Federal Reserve Notes were sent to the islands. Each has a large HAWAII printed on the reverse. If the Japanese did invade, the currency would be demonetized. After the threat passed, most of these "Hawaii" Notes were destroyed. Today they're hard to find.

The 2006 Mint Set continued the use of the new satin finish that had been introduced for the product in the prior year. This year also marked the “Return to Monticello” for the Jefferson Nickel, which saw its original reverse design restored, paired with a new obverse design from Jamie Franki. Each set would include a total of 20 coins with a face value of $5.82. Satin finish examples from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints were included for the Sacagawea Dollar, Kennedy Half Dollar, Roosevelt Dime, Jefferson Nickel, and Lincoln Cent. Continuing to be a highlight of the annual coin set were the five State Quarters. The 2006 releases honored Nevada, Nebraska, Colorado, North Dakota, and South Dakota, which were the thirty-sixth to fortieth states to join the union. Packaging remained within a similar style with the coins included in four different mylar packs. Two represented coins from the Philadelphia Mint, while the other two represented coins from the Denver Mint. These were placed along with a certificate of authenticity into illustrated outer envelopes, which featured depictions of the Liberty Bell and the mountains of Colorado. Get your hands on this never opened 2006 mint set!
