Chinook HC1B Helicopter Model AA34212 by Corgi Lot #2543 (Sale Order 536 of 645) 1:72 scale model new in box with stand. This issue is SOLD OUT. Ravaged by Civil War, Lebanon required the presence of a UN peace keeping force which in 1983 comprised elements of the US, British, French, and Italian armed services. To support the British forces, known as BRITFORLEB (British Forces Lebanon), Chinook helicopters, including ZA705/EZ of 7 Sqn, RAF Odiham, were fitted with extra long-range fuel tanks and additional self-defense equipment before flying out to the Beirut in September 1983. As well as providing logistical support for the British troops, the Chinooks were heavily involved in the evacuation of British civilians and service personnel from Beirut up to the completion of the mission in March 1984 RAF Chinooks operating over Lebanon were distinctive by the large union jacks displayed on the tail and underside as featured on this model. Corgi's 1:72 scale Chinooks are some of the most sought after models in 1:72 scale. The most notable feature of this model is the rotor blades, which are geared to turn in opposite directions. Two sets of rotor blades are included, one with dropping blades for ground display and another with blades that are curved upwards for in-flight display. The model has steerable front wheels and a large nose canopy, which allows for easy viewing of the cockpit interior and crew figures. The rear cargo ramp is accurately articulated and easy to configure, and when fully opened reveals a large cargo bay. A variety of delicate antennas as well as air inlets on the rear nacelles are featured in each release.

Designed to meet a US Navy requirement for an all-weather amphibious helicopter, the Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King first flew on March 11, 1959. Originally a submarine hunter-killer, the Sea King has since been used in a variety of operations, from search and rescue, executive transport and communications to anti-ship and airborne early warning. Douglas A-1H Skyraider HA2903 by Hobby Master Lot #2546 (Sale Order 542 of 645) 1:72 diecast model new in box with stand. Issue is SOLD OUT. Designed by Douglas' chief engineer Ed Heinemann, the A1 was first flown on March 18th, 1945. Used in Vietnam for close air support and for providing cover for combat rescue missions, the Skyraider was valued for its ability to devastate enemy ground targets. It had four 20-mm guns installed in the wings, and could be equipped with additional combinations of bombs, mines, gun pods and rockets. The Skyraider was large for a single-engine, single-seat low monoplane-its bigger-than-average fuselage had plenty of space for modification and could be used for carrying passengers, medical provisions or heavy cargo.

Fokker DR.1 Scale Model by Corgi Lot #2547 (Sale Order 543 of 645) 1:48 diecast scale model new in box with stand. This issue is SOLD OUT. Josef Jacobs (May 15, 1894 – July 29, 1978) was the joint 4th German flying ace with 48 victories (equal with Lt. Werner Voss) during WWI. After achieving his first two victories flying the Fokker E.III (Eindekker), he transferred to Jasta 22, where he achieved 3 officially claimed and many more unclaimed victories until August 1917, when he became Commander of Jasta 7. Lieutenant Jacobs went on to fly the Fokker DR. I Triplane rather successfully in Jasta 7 from early 1918 onwards, with his aircraft finished in a distinctive black scheme. Lt. Jacobs victory tally slowly rose, until at 24 victories (achieved on July 19, 1918), he was awarded the coveted Pour le Mérite. Jacobs remained with Jasta 7 until armistice. His final victory tally was 48 enemy aircraft and balloons. Corgi's 1:48 scale Dr.Is capture the unmistakable lines of the real aircraft, including ailerons that extend beyond the upper wing-tips. Fine gauge wire represents the structurally significant bracing wires found on the actual aircraft. Additionally, the mold faithfully replicates the complex contours of the entire aircraft, simulating a stretched fabric covering. A detailed pilot figure sits behind the twin Spandau machine guns. Up front, the propeller and engine are nicely detailed and free to rotate in unison behind the cowling. The model rests on rolling rubber tires that accurately reproduce the gray color vulcanized natural rubber takes on after prolonged exposure to sunlight.
