Among the most sought-after U.S. paper money of the late 1960's are the short-lived "Barr" Notes. These distinctive $1 Federal Reserve Notes bear the signature of Joseph W. Barr, who served as Secretary of the Treasury during the last 28 days of President Lyndon B. Johnson's administration. Barr was replaced when President Nixon chose a successor. Due to Barr's short term, his signature appeared only on the $1 notes of Series 1963B.

1923 Germany (Weimar Republic) 10 Million Marks Post-WWI Hyperinflation Banknote P# 106a, Watermark: Lot #2839 (Sale Order 35 of 1843) 1923 Germany (Weimar Republic) 10 Million Marks Post-WWI Hyperinflation Banknote P# 106a, Watermark: G/D in stars Grades AU Details. In the early 1920s, post-WWI Germany saw its economy spiraling out of control. Hyperinflation started directly after the war in 1918, but truly took over the Weimar Republic from 1921 to 1923. The value of the Mark declined incredibly rapidly. 1 USD was equal to 50 German Marks at the beginning of 1920. Toward the end of 1923, 1 USD was equal to over 4,200,000,000,000 German Marks. At times, denominations of the Mark became less valuable than the paper and labor to print it almost immediately after printing. Thus, denominations of the Mark notes became incredibly large, ending up in the tens of trillions.

1957 **Star Note** $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Fr-1619* Grades vf+ Lot #2955 (Sale Order 121 of 1843) 1957 **Star Note** $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Fr-1619* Grades vf+. When notes are discovered that have been printed incorrectly (such as having the serial numbers upside down, etc.) the misprinted "error notes" are replaced with star notes because no two bills within a certain series can be produced with the same serial number. They are used to maintain a correct count of notes in a serial number run. By their nature, star notes are more scarce than notes with standard serial numbers and as such are widely collected by numismatists. Some of the highest prices paid for modern (post-1928) U.S. banknotes have been for star notes. The note itself is a Silver Certificate. Silver Certificates were redeemable in Silver. One of their most distinctive qualities is the blue Treasury seal and serial numbers. These notes include an additional legend printed on the face that is not present on any other Federal Reserve notes. The legend states that Silver had been deposited in the Treasury and was payable on demand to the note’s bearer.

On June 4th 1963, President Kennedy issued Executive Order 11110, ordering that silver certificates be phased out. No one knew it would be his last executive order, and no one knew that it would make these 1957-B Silver Certificates sought-after collectibles today. His order caused folks to take notice and save a small number of these 1957-B $1 Silver Certificates-they were only 14% of the total 1957 Silver Certs printed. These silver certificates feature George Washington, a blue seal, and the following wording: “Silver Certificate This certifies that there is on deposit in the treasury of The United States of America One Dollar In silver payable on demand”

The cameo proof finish features mirrored background elements and frosted raised elements. The proof cents are also struck in a special composition of 95% copper and 5% tin and zinc. Group of 3 United States Special Mint Set in Original Government Packaging! From 1965-1967 with 15 C Lot #2998 (Sale Order 154 of 1843) Group of 3 United States Special Mint Set in Original Government Packaging! From 1965-1967 with 15 Coins Inside!. In response to a nationwide shortage of coinage, the Treasury Department announced that no proof set or mint sets would be produced for collectors. In their place, so-called Special Mint Sets were issued featuring examples of each denomination carrying a finish superior to the standard circulation strikes, but not up the quality of proof coinage. Starting with 1965 Special Mint Set, each of the set contained the Kennedy Half Dollar, Washington Quarter, Roosevelt Dime, Jefferson Nickel, and Lincoln Cent. The standard composition of the traditionally silver coins was changed starting this year. Rather than the previous 90% purity, the half dollar was struck in 40% silver. The five coins of the set were produced at the San Francisco Mint, although as with all coinage issued for this year mint marks were not used. Packaging for 1965 consisted of the five coins and a blue mint token sealed in a single plastic cellophane wrap. This was protected between two pieces of cardboard and placed within a white envelope with a notation of the contents. For 1966-1967, rather than the previous cellophane and white envelopes, the coins were mounted within a rigid plastic holder with a blue background. This holder was placed within an outer blue cardboard box. Special mint set coins typically have a uniformly brilliant or proof like finish. A minority of examples will display cameo contrast with design elements frosted against a proof like background. These cameo or deep cameo examples are prized by collectors and command premiums.

1923 Germany (Weimar) 20,000 Marks Post-WWI Hyperinflation Banknote P# 85b, Watermark: G/D in stars Lot #3003 (Sale Order 156 of 1843) 1923 Germany (Weimar) 20,000 Marks Post-WWI Hyperinflation Banknote P# 85b, Watermark: G/D in stars Grades xf+.

Original Sealed 1958 United States Mint Proof Set Lot #3022 (Sale Order 169 of 1843) Original Sealed 1958 United States Mint Proof Set. Original sealed 1963 United States Mint Proof Set Tennessee Valley Hoard. Original sealed 1963 United States Mint Proof Set Tennessee Valley Hoard. Once in a lifetime collection We are proud to bring to auction the greatest proof collection of the late 1950s and early 1960s. This collection may contain some of the only unopened mega boxes of unopened proof sets still in existence. In all my years in numismatics I have never seen a collection like this one. The collection includes 3 unopened mega boxes as well as approximately 7 mega boxes that have been carefully opened but the sets inside remain pristine and unopened as they were when they left the philadelphia mint over a half century ago. Finding cameo and deep cameo proofs from this era is near impossible u less you pay full retail and buy them already holdered. All of the sets at coin shows have been examined and have virtually no cameos. The only way to get the same odds of finding one of these valuable cameos is to buy an unopened set. Many sets today that are purported to be unopened have a actually been opened and resealed or put into a fresh envelope and sealed. This 100% original lot is guaranteed to be unopened from the day it left the mint. We will cover your laboratory costs and pay you 10x your cost of the set if the carbon dating on this set shows that the glue is not from the late 1950s 1960s. A true once in a lifetime opportunity
