1983 PIPER ROGUE KIT CAR | Offered at No Reserve Lot #111 (Sale Order 44 of 204) In the early 1980s, Tom and Bill Piper (grandsons of the Henry Ford of aviation, William T. Piper) worked together to create a kit-car company. They produced a Mercedes-Benz replica and named it the Gazelle. Later, the brothers disagreed within the company, and Bill moved to Kansas to continue building cars. Bill created his version of the kit car and named it the Rogue. With a fiberglass body, a custom-designed box frame, and a Ford-sourced 5.0L V8, the Rogue was a sweet 80s Mercedes-Benz look-alike. The car featured a rack and pinion steering, front disc brakes, and 14-wheels. This Piper Rogue is finished with a cream exterior over a brown interior. The interior features leather seating, a Jensen radio, and Classic Instruments gauges. Power comes from a replacement Blueprint Engines 5.0-liter, Ford-based V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. The engine was replaced in 2018 by Velocity Restoration in Pensacola, Florida. Approximately $20,000 worth of repairs were also completed during the engine replacement. 1963 FORD FALCON | Offered at No Reserve Lot #120 (Sale Order 53 of 204) 1963 was the first year for the Sprint, and it debuted as the company’s trend-setting downsized car in 1960 and was an immediate hit in showrooms. For 1963, the Falcon line continued to use the body shell introduced in 1960, but was updated with a new convex grille featuring a horizontal grid pattern, chrome side trim, and slightly revised taillight lenses, with additional chrome around the inside of the lens, and was offered as either a two-door hardtop coupe or convertible. Lee Iacocca wanted his thrifty compacts to have some excitement and performance, too, so a racier hardtop Falcon body style was added in January of 1963, and for the first time, V-8 power was available in the Falcon lineup. This piece has been tastefully updated with a small block Ford V8 engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. It has an updated interior with a custom instrument cluster, alloy wheels, and traction bars. A good example of a 60s car ready for the street and stoplights. 1982 LAND ROVER SERIES III Lot #138 (Sale Order 71 of 204) Built on April 27, 1983 in Solihull England as Series III, 88 in base, light green LHD export vehicle (A certified copy of the Factory Record issued by British Motor Heritage Trust). It has an original 2.25 Ltr petrol engine and an original syncro gear box that shifts perfectly. The car underwent a meticulous frame on restoration, including upgrades for comfort and safety. Some items in the car were left as original to maintain that retro look we all love. The vehicle has not been altered from its original form other than upgrades. Seller believes this vehicle is unique because our research indicates it has always had a flush front. Unlike most Series III's, this truck has a Defender like bonnet, instead of the shortened bonnet compared to the wings (photo from the 80's to prove it). Initially thought this vehicle was a Stage 1 but it does not have a V8 engine. However, the seller believes this vehicle could have been the first attempts to launch the Defender as they know it (in seller's opinion). About 20 vehicles like this one were exported to the same destination in May of 1983 from England and the ones they have seen look the same (Seller has pictures).. Main restored or replaced items, among others include complete paint job to make it look as good as new (Inside, out and under with the original spec paint). Engine: all gaskets, seals, rings and admission valves were replaced for the new ones. New battery and all new wiring and all seats and roof were reupholstered and seats were upgrade to include head rest. All new items include seatbelts installed on all front seats, original ceiling light, windshield washer bottle, directional wand and wiper/washer switch and original light switch, Euro style lamps with wiring except headlights but including reverse light, LED license plate light, door latches and key barrels, new door and window seals, LR windows, custom fabricated tire holder, custom standard front carpet set, rear acoustic floor mat, and water temperature gauge. 1950 FORD F1 | Offered at No Reserve Lot #146 (Sale Order 78 of 204) Introduced in 1948 as Ford's inaugural light-duty truck line post World War II, the first-generation F-Series marked a significant shift from the older car-based pickups of 1941. Branded as the Ford Bonus-Built line, these trucks featured a dedicated chassis with eight different weight ratings, making it the most extensive truck offering in Ford's history. The range included a ½-ton pickup, panel truck, cab-over engine (COE), conventional truck, and even school bus chassis and body styles. The F-Series' new design showcased a distinctive single-bar grille, a design element that would become a hallmark of Ford trucks for years. This initial success laid the foundation for the iconic F-Series nameplate, which has become synonymous with Ford trucks for generations. The first-generation F-Series introduced several innovations, such as flat, one-piece windshields, integrated headlamps, a wider cab, and optional features like a "See-Clear" windshield washer operated by a foot plunger and additional brightwork. The 1950 models, including this specific truck, notably used leftover 1949 motors due to post-war surplus. This early 1950 model, featuring the unique 1949 engine and the smaller rear window, showcases the transition between design eras. Painted in the original Sheridan Blue, this truck has been meticulously maintained, undergoing thoughtful enhancements such as a refreshed wood bed, side rails, and an exterior respray. This 1950 First-Generation Ford F-Series pickup is a testament to the careful attention and effort poured into its refurbishment. Its striking appearance and practical usability make it a genuine head-turner, giving its next owner countless enjoyable miles ahead. 1974 DETOMASO PANTERA GTS Lot #158 (Sale Order 89 of 204) Alejandro De Tomaso was bathing in the worldwide glory of his Mangusta Coupe when he was approached by Lee Iacocca on behalf of Ford Motor Company to build an Italian designed sports car for the American market after their failed effort to buy Ferrari. Sensing opportunity, Detomaso commissioned Gianpaolo Dallara to design the chassis and chose the American Tom Tjaarda at Ghia to design the coachwork. 17 months later the resultant effort car was sent out to be photographed, as it didn’t have a moniker yet, the photographer wrote Panther on the film canisters. The impromptu name was an instant hit and was Italianized to become the Pantera inch. It was an immediate hit when introduced in the Auto shows at Geneva and New York, it’s space age appearance so different from other new introductions such and the Mercedes 450SL, Buick Riviera, and Toyota Corolla. It was determined that the Pantera would be sold through Ford’s upscale Lincoln-Mercury dealerships and deliveries commenced in the fall of 1971. At an original sales price of $10,000, the Pantera cost as much as two Corvettes, but was still less costly than a Ferrari 246GTS at $12,500, or a 365GTB at $16,500, or half the price of a $20,000 Lamborghini Miura with comparable performance to all three. In the first year, 743 Panteras found a home and the second year the number grew to 2,131 cars 1973 was the beginning of the gas Crisis and runaway inflation, Panteras saw a sales reduction of 1,258 cars in 1973 and 1,112 cars in 1974. To bring more visibility to the Pantera in these challenging times, the decision was made to offer the European GTS only package to the US market and a special run of 150 cars were produced in only three colors, 30 in Yellow Gold & Black, 59 in Dark red & Black, 60 in Silver & Black and a single car in Red and Black. These cars are distinguished as a separate model which is indicated by GT in the VIN number, a passenger side clock in the dash, and the two-tone livery with white letter graphics. All cars came with body matching fender flares in the trunk giving the purchaser the option to install them. The flares looked best with upgraded 10 and 8 Campagnolo wheels and bigger tires, most owners did not elect to spend another $1,600 on top of a then $13,500 price tag. Detomaso and Ford Motor Company parted ways in 1974 as a result of Lee Iacocca’s termination and Henry Ford II desire to rid the company of his influences. From that point until the eventual death of Detomaso, all cars were either imported as gray market cars or sold through others like Amerisport. Detomaso Pantera GTS 7223 offered here is a time capsule like no other, it wears its original Dark Red paint (1/59 examples), original carpets, original seats, and until recently, original tires. With only 5,423 original miles, it had become a car of note for restoration shops to reference as what they were really like when new inch. It has lived its entire life as an object to be admired and looked at, a reference point for perfection. In a series of private collections over the last 49 years, the seller acquired the car last year and set about making it road worthy and safe. While the flares were installed on this car, it never had the proper rare 10 and 8 magnesium Campagnolo wheels until now, so the very dangerous 49-year-old tires were removed and new larger tires on the correct wheels were installed. All fluids, filters, belts, hoses, spark plugs, wires, were replaced with NOS units to maintain as much originality as possible while enabling the car to be driven. The original paint was detailed and ceramic coated, while the bumpers were resprayed to match the excellence of the rest of the car. It’s powered by a Ford 5.8L 351 Cleveland engine mated to a 5 speed ZF transaxle. Horsepower is listed at 300, while top speed was reported to be 160 mph in road tests of the period. The car includes the complete and original tool kit, the owner’s manual, and a Pantera factory parts manual. 7223 represents an opportunity to invest in an original piece of rolling artwork, an automobile always included in every list of superlative cars of our youth. As a younger version of yourself you once dreamed about it, now you have a chance to own it. Odometer shows 5,423 miles. VIN: THGTPS07223 Selling at Public Auction on Saturday, October 28, 2023. 1987 AMERISPORT DETOMASO PANTERA GT5-S Lot #203 (Sale Order 134 of 204) 1 of 38 US Spec GT5-S cars and 1/182 GT5-S cars made in total. This 1987 Amerisport Detomaso Pantera is wickedly beautiful in gloss black, accented by gold. Subdued elegance belies the beast that lives within its finely sculpted all steel body work designed by American Tom Tjaarda at Ghia. The GT5-S was the last ?mass? produced version of the Detomaso Pantera, while all 7,260 Panteras built were mostly handmade, the last two models were completely crafted by hand in Modena, Italy between 1985 and 1990 under the sole supervision of Detomaso after the separation from Ford Motor Company?s Lincoln-Mercury marketing and distribution ended in 1974. American Auto Entrepreneur Kirk Evans received rolling chassis from Detomaso to create US Spec cars, his additions were 5 mph bumpers, proper lighting, internal door guards, and installing a more performance version of the Ford 5.8L 351 Cleveland engine. These sporting higher compression, aluminum cylinder heads and intake, a Holley carb, a hotter cam and delivering about 50+ hp over their European and UK Counterparts at approximately 450 hp. Power is delivered through a German designed ZF 5 speed transaxle and put to the ground using recently renewed Campagnolo GT4 Gold/Clear Powder Coated Magnesium wheels of 15? x 10? in the front with the recently re-released Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires at 285-40-15 in the front and 15? x 13? with 335-35-15 in the rear. With only 17,500 miles on the odometer over 36 years, the car is barely broken in and ready for use. In anticipation of that use, the seller has not only replaced the tires/wheels, but also replaced all belts, hoses, fluids, filters, lines, plugs, caps, rotor, wires, valve covers, gaskets, intake gaskets, and the air cleaner assembly. Lighting was upgraded with Hella H4 Lamp housing using 100W LED lamps. The factory tool kit is complete, the car has both the owner?s manual and the factory parts book. Often cited as the ?Gentleman?s Supercar?, it?s subtle yet sensual styling is far more refined and elegant that the oft compared Countach of the same era, even though they both share the same rear wing. The steel Coke bottle fender flares were an upgrade to the previous GT5 flares which were fiberglass. Its more sophisticated appearance is probably why the Detomaso Pantera is always included on any list of the World?s Most Beautiful Cars. This is a car for people who do not wish to be ignored, nor stared at: it?s for those who know the GT5-S is a superior road car with the looks of a stealthy Panther and the roar of a mighty Lion. Expertly prepared by the seller after spending many years in a private collection, it is now ready to be driven across country or simply parked and lusted after. 1986 DETOMASO PANTERA GT5-S Lot #233 (Sale Order 167 of 204) The Italian built Detomaso Pantera GT5-S was the third iteration of the Pantera designed by Tom Tjaarda at Ghia, and for many it represents the pinnacle of the model's evolution since its introduction in 1971. In 1985, the GT5-S was released with redesigned bodywork using steel instead of fiberglass, thus the S being added to the name. The front air dam was smaller, top speed increased, and the car's overall appearance transformed from track ready to sophisticated hypercar with its sensuous new Coke Bottle shape. 182 GT5-S cars were built from 1985 until 1990, 18 were RHD, 38 were imported into the US to be modified to meet US crash standards and 126 were Euro spec, this car is one of those. It is powered by a Ford 5.8L, 351 Cleveland engine with a Holley carburetor and produced about 400 hp, it is mated to a German built ZF transaxle with 5 forward speeds plus reverse. Torque is rated at 333 lb ft with a top speed of 174 mph. The Campagnolo GT4 wheels are magnesium and have been freshly inspected, stripped, primed, powder coated in the correct Argent Silver and cleared. They measure 15 x 10 in the front and 15 x 13 in the rear. Shod with newly re-released Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires of 285-40-15 in the front and massive 345-35-15 in the rear. This car belonged to a noted collector for many years and was acquired by the seller a year ago; it has led a charmed life being admired for its beauty more than for its brawn as a formidable sports road car which explains why it only has 7,800 original miles. As a result of its' primarily display life, the seller has mechanically refurbished the car back to top form. All hoses and belts were replaced, the gas tank sending unit was replaced, the battery was replaced, the A/C compressor was replaced with all new lines, the brakes inspected and bled, the clutch inspected and bled, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, and wires replaced, wiper blades renewed, and the exterior was finely detailed and given a three-year ceramic coat protective finish. As one of 182 total cars, whether you are buying this for the concourse circuit, visiting your local Cars and Coffee meets or planning to travel across country, chances are that you'll not encounter another Detomaso Pantera GT5-S. It's not a car for the timid, it's simply a beautiful and sensual car hiding a bold nature, raw power, and confidence to spare€¦on four very wide tires. The odometer shows 7,800 miles VIN: THPNDO09414 Selling at Public Auction on Saturday, October 28, 2023.
