1862 Colt Navy Pocket Revolver Owned By Civil War Hero Capt. William Henry Ward SER#9295 Lot #17A (Sale Order 22 of 317) 1892 Colt Navy Pocket Revolver Owned By Capt. William Henry Ward who served with B Company of the 47th Ohio regiment during the Civil War. Capt. Ward received a medal of honor for heroism at Vicksburg Missippi, May 3, 1863. Capt. Ward has a Spencer rifle currently on display at the Smithsonian. This pistol was purchased back in 1965 from Newman Ward, the great grandson. This revolver is all matching numbers, has great action, correct engraved stagecoach robbery scene, and is simply remarkable. The bluing has about 40% remaining, shows signs of age and wear. The hand grips have what appears to be possible vice marks equally on both sides. Upper left grip has a small chip and shows some more wear on the bottom than the right side. The original powder flask is included, showing wear and damage. The spring is broken and the is about a 1/4 hole on one side.
