Important Documented Saxon Quill Polychrome Reliquary Cross, Circa 1750 Lot #1 (Sale Order 1 of 324) Important and well provenanced cross of the Cloister Marienthal, Saxony circa 1750. Beautifully decorated and carved in wood with polychrome painted sunburst rays and an interior under glass. Heavily gilded and painted in white with elegant floral patterns in the German fashion. The interior of the cross under its original curio glass with a complex series of jeweled pierced filigree over a lace background. The cross features inscription in Latin on paper reading (Romani, Celsi, Magn, mansuet, aucundini, candida, adriani, urbani) or roughly (The noble Roman, the great man, of the great Aucundini, of the city of Hadrian). The base with a curio window for a reliquary and hinged tray accessible from the rear.
A post envelope circa 1950 and included documents. An included letter translated to English later details information from circa 1951 including quotes the Cross as being the collection of (Frau Gisela Heink, from Riesa, on the River Elbe in Saxony, East-Germany). The letter further states and translates the cross as per a chronicle from the Cloister Marienthal located in Saxony-Lausitz, Germany as being made circa 1750. At the time and currently the cloister belongs to the Catholic nun's order of the Listerrienser. When the nuns had to escape temporarily during the Napoleonic wars around 1800, the Cloister's secretary was likely given the cross. The secretary August Felix Heink a brother of Margaretha Williamson's great grandfather. The cross has remained in the family collection until 2024. Kloster St. Marienthal is the oldest nunnery of the Cistercian Order of Germany to maintained unbroken occupation of its house since foundation, circa 1234. Size: 17 1/2" H x 8 1/4" W. Condition: Good with some wear commensurate to age and use. Looseness to sunburst rays. Loss to some polychrome paint.. Large Chinese Cloisonne Pot w/Birds Lot #2 (Sale Order 2 of 324) Beautifully detailed antique Chinese cloisonne pot with cloisonne birds to each side of the shoulder. Baby blue background with periwinkle framing allow for bright yellow, green and red details to shine. Four panels depicting a variety of scenes including a vase full of blooming flowers, birds by a bonsai tree and more. Birds on the shoulders are black with a navy blue feather tip. An absolute lovely example of craftmanship at its finest. Size 14" H x 18" W. Condition: Good condition throughout.

Spanish 'Carabinieri of the Kingdom' Sword w/Scabbard Lot #9 (Sale Order 9 of 324) Fine Spanish officers sword of the 'Carabinieri of the Kingdom'. Handle in gilded brass with the coat of arms for Spain absent the fleur de Lis to the center. Probably circa late 1860s or the Regency of General Espartero. The guard with an octagonal panel reading (CDR) meaning (Carabineros del Reino) and decorative quillion matching in design to the remainder. Good leather scabbard with brass matching mounts and the top mount featuring the coat of arms for Spain that was used to attach to a Baldric. Size 38 1/8" L, blade 30 3/4" L. 19th C. Steel Indian Elephant Goad Combination-Dagger Lot #32 (Sale Order 32 of 324) Indian elephant combination-dagger, known as ankus or Indian elephant goad from South India, 19th century. Carried by a elephant driver (Mahout), the pointed tip and dual elephant trunk shaped protrusion to the face is double edged and inlaid in silver decoration. The shaft has a series of iron rings and at the base features a pommel in brass. Carved brass pommel is in the shape of a lion head with a smaller lion protruding in pierced carving. The pommel can be unscrewed from the shaft revealing a stiletto like four sided blade for puncturing. Size overall 18 7/8" L, blade 6 1/2" H x 5 1/2" W. Condition: Very good with detail remaining to the inlay throughout under original patina.

Ornate well carved antler bone handle with fine detailing of a humanoid figure riding or being consumed by a zoomorphic beast. Handle with a natural resin pastiche section. Double-edged blade well formed and engraved with scrolling patterns from the ricasso and upper section to the tip, highlighted in white pigment. Forward section of the blade with a rounded tip and two pierced curlicue sections. Double scabbard in very ornate detailing consisting of a wood construction with long braided rattan belt. Affixed over the openwork panels additional multi-colored strands of bead bands in geometric chevron patterns. Zoomorphic horn handle with an intricately carved pommel in complex scrolling and decoration. Tightly wrapped and resin coated twisted fiver grip. The uppermost haft of the blade and ricasso heavily inlaid in silver scrolling and a long series of brass inlaid circles (some absent). Exceptional Philippine (Moro) Chainmail Cuirass Armour, 19th Century Lot #116 (Sale Order 115 of 324) Philippines Archipelago, 19th century or earlier. Comprised of a brass links in several sizes, thick brass plates, iron, and buffalo horn to the interior of the forward chest plates. This heavy and high quality armour has seen minimal restoration and repair with many of the original links remaining. The plates of heavy brass are riveted together throughout with even the lower links that come to a series of upside down triangular peaks are almost all intact. Links are butt end and the larger heavy links affix to the plates while series of smaller links affix to each of the large forming a tightly woven pattern. Half hunter watches were made so hunters could quickly check the time with the half exposed face, without having to open the entire face. Including the exposed face is a secondary pointer on the hour hand to quickly assess the time. Several silver marks to the piece on the dial and reverse of the face plate.
