Massive, impressive and wonderfully fragrant agarwood carving known by many different names and one of the most valuable woods fetching as much as $100,000 per kg. Rightly dubbed "The Wood of the Gods". This particular piece is expertly carved throughout depicting monks and elders among trees, a boy gifts fruit to an elder with is father looking on with shield and spear in hand. Custom base is intricately detailed throughout with blooming cherry blossom trees and layers of land. Size 9" L x 8" W x 10 1/2" H, weight 1235g (2.7 lbs.)

Fragrant and dark colored wood elegantly carved in a solid form with the agar wood base separately. The scene carved to all sides features a scenic background and scholarly figures or wise men with numerous additional figures. Additional names and grades are often called aloeswood / eaglewood / gharuwood / oud / Oudh. Oud / agarwood forms in the heartwood of Aquilaria tree once they become infected with a particular type of parasitic mold. The samplings are used in the production of the finest fragrances in the world.. Condition: Excellent condition without any signs of obvious wear, damage, or splitting. Gorgeous Early Korean Celadon Crackle Glazed Bowl, Cranes

Wonderful early Korean green crackle glazed ceramic bowl with beautiful painted details throughout the interior and exterior of the bowl. The interior includes a centered trio of bloomed flowers surrounded by a repeating ruyi boarder and finely five cranes in flight around the interior walls of the bowl. Exterior also expertly decorated with flowers, foliage and repeating banding to the rim. Size 4" W x 2" H, weight 218 grams. Condition: Wonderful and well preserved condition with one area of impact to the outer body.

Shell with a characteristic steed in stride with a stippled background design. Straight double edged blade with diamond cross-section. Size 34" L, blade 28" L, weight 732g. Important Mexican Revolutionary War Sword, by Hermenegildo Aragon 1909

Important Mexican Revolutionary War (1810-1821) sword by one of the finest swordsmith families Casa Aragon signed by Hermenegildo Aragon, Ejutla de Crespo 1909. Gilt brass eagle head pommel. Snakeskin wrapped grip with gilt twisted wire. Guard with a downturned quillion and pierced openwork with raised loop to one side. Stippled with floral motifs. Slightly curved machete-sword blade with double edged and etched panels. Etched to both sides with scrolling and one side of an eagle fighting a serpent surrounding the inscribed poem "Si Me Picaz No Me Muero, Te Agarre Como Valiente, Con Los Filos De Mi Acero, Nada Nos Queda Pendiente" which translates to " If it stings me, I won't die, I'll grab you like a brave man, with the edges of my steel, nothing is left for us". The reverse etched with the inscription in Spanish "Por Hermenegildo Aragon Y Hermano, Ejutla Junio 9 De 1909" translating to the name of the finest sword maker of the period "Hermenegildo Aragon & Brother based in Ejutla de Crespo June 9th, 1909.

Casa Aragon has been producing fine blades in Mexico since 1750. Their workshop originally based in Ejutla de Crespo started moving to Oaxaca around 1905 making this example from the old workshop extremely rare as one of the last machete sword produced from the original location. Hermenegildo famous for his unique method of tempering steel so well it could be bent into a circle without breaking. Size 34" L, blade 29" L. Provenance: Ex-Arizona Collection, Ex-Texas Collection

Mexico, important Mexican generals sword with scabbard, circa 1883-1918. Fantastic custom sword for a general or high ranking officer with a long single edged blade profusely etched with scrolling and decorative patterns including two (WK&C) hall marks and a serial number # 4150. The reverse etched to the ricasso "Armeria Americana Mexico" and flanked by two large panels of scrolling with the Spanish coat of arms between. Very unusual scalloped guard with two downturned quillion all nickel plated. Nickel plated steel scabbard with two belt loops. Lightly dinged. Size 39" L, blade 31 1/4" L

Armeria Americana Mexico (founded 1867) owned and operated by Arsene Combaluzier born in Ardeche, France 1840. Arsene during French Intervention of 1862-1867 had been enlisted with the Castagny Brigade of the French Expeditionary Force in Veracruz. During the conflict Mexican General Porfirio Diaz was captured and taken prisoner under the supervision of Arsene Combaluzier. Having sympathized with General Diaz and the Mexican cause for justice he helped General Diaz escape prison. Altering the course of Mexican History. General Diaz would later become president of Mexico in 1876. As a reward for the actions of Arsene he was granted by President Diaz Mexican Citizenship and the sole exclusive ability to import arms into Mexico.. All-original Landsknecht Katzbalger arming sword, circa 1540. Short and wide double-edged blade with a very shallow fuller to the back section (very sharp). Marked to the ricasso with an armorers mark. Obvious signs of age and delamination. Distinctive S-Shaped figure either guard in steel with spherical quillion ends. Original leather grip over formed wood core with later repairs or sealing to prevent cracking(Sections of the underside visible). Pommel a semi domed cap with single spherical end, notched at the pommel on one side. Size 28 1/2" L, blade 22" L. Condition: Good condition overall commensurate with age and use. Age of Sail, spanish colonial cup hilt rapier with engraved broad blade. Large straight double-edged blade with central shallow wide fuller. Etched to the blade with partially legible inscription reading to one side "Viva La,â€¦" and the other a date with possible reference to a King Ferdinand VI. Each surrounded by scenes of crowns, scrolling, double-headed eagle, and other heraldic symbols. Solid cup hilt guard with heavy roped steel edge. Well marked to the ricasso at either side with hallmark stamps. Wide straight quillion with flared scalloped ends. D-shaped hand guard with matching decoration. Turned steel twisted wire grip. Spanish Colonial Embossed Bilbao Sword, 18th c.

Iberian Peninsula, Spain, Spanish Colonial period 18th century Cup hilt Rapier. Straight double edge blade 1 1/8" wide at ricasso. Single fuller to the first portion of the blade engraved at either side with crosses and various patterns surrounding the Latin words (O mater dei memento mei) meaning (O Mother of God, remember me). Guard with a very attractive embossed bowl with pierced sides and the embossing reflecting foliate or floral motifs. Crossguard very wide straight quillion with multiple bars at either side and a single D Shaped Bar over the grip. Pommel hand peened with the grip wrapped in finely wound copper wire in four panels. Size 44 1/4", 37" to base of bowl to the tip.. Condition: Typical wear commensurate with age and use. The engraved blade clearly visible. Typical very minor looseness to bowl.. African bronze sword 10th-16th century probably from the lower Niger bronze industry cast in bronze lost-wax technique. The sword is a wide double edged diamond shaped blade with incised geometric patters to the patinated green surface. The tang has a tapper inward, triangular base to the grip as a crossguard, and with a heavy bronze wire grip to the handle which has an ornate loop design to bronze wire. The top of the handle conical with another looped design to the tang. Note the incised decoration to either side of the raised central ridge of the blade appears to be bands of cross hatch demi-circles in opposition. Size 27 3/4" L, blade 22" L. Impressive & monumental antique flintlock wall or swivel gun, circa. 1740-1760. Probably Dutch manufacture. Heavy 45.25"L, 1.5" W smooth-bore octagon-to-round barrel with fixed swivel post mount. Note pitting from exposure to the elements and oxidization. Huge flintlock 8 6/8" W which is unmarked and probably of Dutch form. Steel trigger guard of a wide flat form. Steel side plate and barrel band at muzzle. No butt plate or ram rod. The stock is solid with typical wear and scratches from use. Original flintlock configuration and in good mechanical order. Size 65.5" overall.

General Luis Alejandro Bassecourt y Duprie (1769-1826) was a French born Spanish military commander, Governor of Barcelona, and Captain General. He participated in the Peninsular War and was promoted to captain in 1805 after the Dos de Mayo Uprising. In Andalusia he was promoted to brigadier August 1808. He fought alongside the Duke of Albuquerque and participated in the battles of Mora and Consuegra February 1809, Battle of Medellin March 1809, Battle of Talavera July 1809, and in August at the Battle of Arzobispo. Promoted to lieutenant general 1815, lieutenant colonel of the 2d Regiment of Infantry Guards 1819. Ferdinand VII of Spain appointed Bassecourt governor of Barcelona in 1823 and second-in-command of the Captaincy general of Catalonia 1824. The same year he was appointed Captain General of Valencia and Murcia. In 1825 he was promoted to captain general of Granada and captain general of Aragon.. Struck with a hammers mark to the lock plate reading "LA, SRI, ATE, CVI" under the Spanish crown. Fantastic original finish browned barrel with engraved tang. Octagonal to round with transitional chiseled and gilt band. Flared blunderbuss muzzle 1.5" opening. Inlaid with three gold fleur de lis, the Spanish cross, and silver inlaid series of fleur de lis to the base of the barrel. Two makers marks including a lower example of the rampant lion. Above a hallmark reading "AGN, YTV, RRL, OZ" under the Spanish Crown. Trigger guard frame also hallmarked and gilt "AL, BER, DT" under the crown. Walnut stock in original condition. His mother Royal Highness Princess Dagmar Castenskiold and his father Jorgen Castenskiold titled Master of the Royal Hunt. 1949 Christian became the only member of the Royal family to do so immigrated to the US. Shortly after Christian was married and then drafted to the United States Army where he served just before the Korean war, previous he served in the Royal Danish Guard as an Officer. Antique British Military 3rd Model known as the India attern brown bess flintlock service musket, circa. 1790-1810. Round steel barrel is approximately 38.75" long with a .75 caliber. Marked to the barrel with two large British Royal Armory Tower proofs. Lock marked "TOWER", a "CROWN" over "GR" (King George III). The lock is in its original flintlock configuration. Brass regulation furniture has been recently polished with the trigger guard missing the front of the finial. Stock was branded with a regimental designation on the left side of the comb and then later scratched out. Size larger 54". Condition: Barrel surface porosity and pitting w/dark age patina and the touch hole has been re-bushed. Exceptional cased brace of Percussion Belt Pistols by "RICHARDSON, CORK" with accessories circa, 1835-1845. .50 cal. steel octagon 3.25" barrels with Birmingham proof marks and captive ram-rods mounted on an under mounted rib. Each pistol has a side mounted steel belt hook. All steel parts are engraved and case hardened retaining approximately 95-98% original fire blue and case hardened finish. Side mounted percussion hammers. Stocks are in excellent to near factory new condition with exceptional micro-checkering and each has a silver oval wrist escutcheon. Pistols are 8.5" overall length and in good working order. The original period box has brass corners, reinforcing stripes, single swing hook in the front, and a decorative brass escutcheon in the center of the lid. The interior of the box has been professionally restored/re-lined in the correct English green baize. Central crest in a gilt brass with red to the pierced opening of the crown, four lances with flags of Spain with the royal crest, and a central silver highlighted symbol of two flags and crossed swords. Spike undoubtedly original with a monogram to the base. Underside reveals a spectacular condition original green painted interior with felt brims and beautiful folded silk and leather liner. Philippines Archipelago, 19th century or earlier. Comprised of a brass links in several sizes, thick brass plates, iron, and buffalo horn to the interior of the forward chest plates. This heavy and high quality armour has seen minimal restoration and repair with many of the original links remaining. The plates of heavy brass are riveted together throughout with even the lower links that come to a series of upside down triangular peaks are almost all intact. Links are butt end and the larger heavy links affix to the plates while series of smaller links affix to each of the large forming a tightly woven pattern. Philippine Moro Round 'Taming' Shield, 18th-19th C.

Philippines Archipelago, Southern Philippines, Mindanao 18th or 19th century. Constructed of wood cane (rattan) and red / black pigment with some looseness to the connection points and original material. The shield has a deep reddish black pigment over the wood construction and has a typical Moro round shape with a raised central point. Behind the central knob the 5 point star of Islam is inset in brass. The reverse carved all from one piece with a larger circular round opening for the arm to secure and another carved handle for grip and maneuverability. Excellent example of a shield in a very good state of conservation. Staff and their finials represent reference to proverbs, this staff depicts a famous proverb known as " The food is for the one who owns it, not for the one who is hungry ". Additional copper inscription where the body and spout meet. The Ayyubid dynasty was the medieval Sultanate of Egypt and was established by Saladin in 1171. Qing Dynasty 1644-1911. Masterfully carved example of white and brown jade from a single natural stone, the carver worked to show a feline "Kitten" with white jade and another from the same stone carved from spotted brown jade mimicking a feline of the same litter with different pattern. The white feline, slightly larger is resting with the brown and spotted feline for warmth. The piece shows age well and has an old but still brilliant polish with no rough edges or sharpness at all. The lot also includes a old tag from a Hong Kong Antique Gallery which the Hong Kong Export Association stamped with their wax seal. 1 7/8"W. On the reverse of the mirror, a five clawed dragon chases a flaming pearl among waves and swirling clouds. Edge of the frame is painstakingly decorated with individual blooming flowers. Chinese, (Kangxi Period 1661-1722). Very Fine slender gu drinking ritual shaped vase with archaistic motifs painted in blue & white. The vase has a slightly bulbous center with lightly flared base and rare very widely flared top rim. The vase illustrates an earlier style of archaistic\ type decoration often seen on bronze with the animal mask taotiet which is painted to both sides. The lower rim also has two thin bands of blue lines which appear on the foot of the vase. Painted in porcelain cobalt blue or Jingdezhen ware.

Exclusively used by chiefs and court figures with innumerable European brass embossed panels, appliques, tacks and "Mpeaboo" gold weight shaped decoration over the wood with hide seat bottom. The top of the chair decorated with two finials known as "Ntuatire", often in a eagle talons form. Among chieftain the more chairs (Asipim) an Akan chief posses the more powerful they are.
