Here’s a unique opportunity to buy – and share – a whiskey that’s normally only available to industry insiders.
Jackson Purchase Distillery (JPD) is offering one new fill (not yet aged) 53 gallon barrel for auction in support of the Ken Tenn EMS for buying equipment and other necessary items. Ken-Tenn is a community-supported, nonprofit emergency medical and ambulance service that serves Fulton County, KY and South Fulton, TN.
JPD is one of Kentucky’s fastest-growing distilleries, with all of its production currently snapped up by labels looking for the highest-quality whiskey to include in their own products. This auction will be a rare chance for bourbon lovers to purchase JPD’s whiskey for themselves.
The distillery donated this barrel to Ken-Tenn during Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman’s visit to dedicate JPD’s first traditional rickhouse. It contains a premium mash bill of 70% corn, 20% rye, 10% malted barley. The whiskey entered the barrel at 120 Proof and is aging in a traditional white oak barrel with number 4 char. All corn used by JPD comes from local farmers in Jackson Purchase area.
The winner’s purchase includes aging in one of JPD’s new rickhouses, as well as bottling and labeling. Once the 4 year aging process is complete, the barrel will yield about 175 bottles, making it well worth the wait. The winner will also receive a custom barrel top signed by Master Distiller, Craig Beam and Asst. Master Distiller/Plant Manager, Terry Ballard.
