What Does Grade A/B Mean?
Member Returns: Items may have been returned for various reasons, such as buyer’s remorse, incorrect size/color, or incomplete shipments. Returns can be new and unused, but if any portion of the packaging has been opened, the product cannot go back on the sales floor and instead is liquidated. Some items may have been lightly tried or partially used. While Costco conducts a visual screening, they do not fully test items—thus some may be damaged, missing parts/manuals, or otherwise incomplete/non-functional.
Unsold Merchandise: When product inventory becomes too low for standard Costco displays, the warehouse may liquidate that inventory. These items are typically in new or near-new condition but still categorized as Grade A/B.
