This 1:8th scale working model, completed by SAPOR Modelltechnik of Ingolstadt, Germany, is scratch-built, and is the singular prototype for an edition of 25 copies. The livery is unique to this particular model, i.e. the black wheels and blue racing stripe.

Completed in brass, cast aluminum, leather, glass, etc. The model is fully functional, in that it is electrified. The engine turns over, the clutch and transmission function in forward and reverse, the lights work, and the spark advance/retard mechanism functions from the steering wheel hub, as does the starting throttle. The brakes are fully functional with brake shoes operating inside the brake drums. The differential is also fully functional.

This item is more a miniature AUTOMOBILE than a model. A custom model case and transformer are included in the sale.

The approximate weight of the model and its custom case is 26 lbs. A custom travel case is also included.

This bronze sculpture vividly depicts the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR that won the 1955 Mille Miglia driven by Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson. Nesse noted that his goal in creating this piece goes beyond simply seeing Moss at ten-tenths, indeed it is to literally feel that glorious, ragged edge! Sir Stirling Moss was presented with the #1/18 copy of the bronze at the 1988 Mille Miglia Awards ceremony.
