If a mount is less than 10 years old with average quality, it will grade a 6. We try to not only clean and repair minor damage to the older mounts, but also to restore them to their original appearance, or even better in some cases. We try to auction items as best we can, at a Grade 7 to Grade 10 as much as possible.Â

A couple of these would be worth restoring. The Hemphill just needs the tip replaced.Â

(11) Authentic Paleo Points and Tools Arrowheads in Display Case Lot #89 (Sale Order 88 of 606) On the top row are two very then Paleo Knives, with a Folsom Point in the middle. The Folsom is very old and quite worn down from use, and was probably under water at one time. Just below it is a Clovis Point that also was heavily used. To the left of the Clovis is a small Plainview. In the middle, at the bottom just under the Clovis is a spent Scottsbluff. To the left and right of the Scottsbluff are two Paleo Dart points. Far left in the case is a large Drill and to the far right is a snap Base Sedalia Point. These Artifacts are G-5 to G-7.5 in grade. One or two of these might be from the Late Archaic Period, and all of the rest are definitely Paleo.Â

He had sharp spikes on the top and sides of his head, along with a nutty club for his tail. This Dino peacefully fed on grass and plants, but when attacked by a Raptor or T-Rex, Ankylosaur was a formidable opponent. This tooth has part of the root at the top, and four clover like and pointed parts of the tooth to cut and chew plants with. This type of tooth is very hard to find.Â

It was a plant eating herbivore that stood about 3 1/2" to 4 feet tall. Eggs from this Dinosaur have been found in Mongolia and China. This egg is missing a small amount of its shell covering which is very common. Fossil eggs are much more harder to come by at this time because of new exportation laws in China.Â

Spinosaurus egypticus Dinosaur Fossil Hand Claw Lot #183 (Sale Order 182 of 606) Spinosaurus was the Dinosaur with the huge sailfish type sail on his back, and a big Alligator like head. He was the Star in the Movie Jurassic Park 3. An early Cretaceous Period Dino, Spinosaurus hunted along the river banks for fish, and anything else he could catch. An adult grew to 65 feet or more from nose to tail. This hand claw is Museum quality and it was recovered from Morocco in the Kem Kem Basin. This claw measures 8 7/8" long over the top curve, and 7 2/8" on a straight line. It has about 8 to 10% restoration which is fantastic considering that the average Dinosaur Fossil that is found, is only 30% complete. A Claw like this one normally sells for $ 3,000 to $ 7,500.00 at the better Fossil Auctions.Â

All of these Artifacts were recovered in Kentucky, and Southern Ohio. These relics are good enough in quality to make most collectors happy. The Dovetail in the middle is nicely beveled and looks quite a bit like a Lost lake. The flint on a couple of these is quite attractive. There is no modern damage or restoration to these points.Â

At the time of harvest, this pair weighed 132 1/4 pounds. Now the tusk we have 61 x 60 pounds, or a total of 121 pounds. These tusk measure 65" x 63 1/2" long. The circumference at the thickest part is 16"around on both tusk. One tusk had a bullet fragment about the size of a dime near the base. This caused a crack that traveled about 115" or 16", but the crack is fairly thin and hardly noticeable. The tusk are almost perfectly even, and these make a truly fantastic decorative pair.Â
