Lot #6 (Sale Order 5 of 606)

A taxidermy mount that is average quality will be graded a 5 to 6 depending on its age. If a mount is less than 10 years old with average quality, it will grade a 6. We try to not only clean and repair minor damage to the older mounts, but also to restore them to their original appearance, or even better in some cases. We try to auction items as best we can, at a Grade 7 to Grade 10 as much as possible.Â

This is an older mount that has faded some from direct sunlight. The mount is clean and in excellent condition except for the color fade. The antlers are a beautiful natural walnut color. The rack will gross 165 give or take an inch or two. The H-1's are 5" x 4 6/8" around. This mount will grade an 8 on a 1 to 10 quality scale.Â

This skull is clean and in excellent condition. All of the teeth are present, except for the two tiny teeth that Fish and Wildlife take for their studies and aging of the Bear. Two of the canine teeth have cracks which is common for older Bears. The skull has no cracks, repairs, or bullet holes.Â

This skull is an older one, however it is in good condition missing only a few teeth. The tusk are all in excellent condition with no breaks or cracks. Both of the upper Tusk will measure over 10" long. The skull has no cracks, repairs, or bullet holes.Â

Black Feral Hog/Wild Boar Shoulder Taxidermy Mount

This mount is clean and in very good condition. The taxidermy quality grades a nice 8.Â

(16) Authentic Spear Points and Arrowheads in New Display Case

Here we have mostly G-5 and G-6 field grade types. This is a decent size serrated eccentric near the bottom left side. Also a large Hemphill at the middle right, and a Lost Lake Spear Point at the bottom center. Also a couple of Archaic Drills. A couple of these would be worth restoring. The Hemphill just needs the tip replaced.Â

(19) Authentic Great Basin and Columbia River Gem Points and Arrowheads in New Display Case

Lot #88 (Sale Order 87 of 606)

In this case are some high quality Gem Points that were made from Chalcedony , Agate, and even Petrified Wood. Others were made from Jasper and good quality Flints. There are three small Daggers and a Drill, along with some translucent and semi-translucent points. Most of these were recovered from Washington, Oregon, and North California. Others were found in Idaho and New Mexico. There are three very nice Obsidian Points here also. About three of these artifacts are valued to $ 100.00 to $ 150.00 each.Â

(11) Authentic Paleo Points and Tools Arrowheads in Display Case

Lot #89 (Sale Order 88 of 606)

On the top row are two very then Paleo Knives, with a Folsom Point in the middle. The Folsom is very old and quite worn down from use, and was probably under water at one time. Just below it is a Clovis Point that also was heavily used. To the left of the Clovis is a small Plainview. In the middle, at the bottom just under the Clovis is a spent Scottsbluff. One or two of these might be from the Late Archaic Period, and all of the rest are definitely Paleo.Â

Eggs from this Dinosaur have been found in Mongolia and China. This egg is missing a small amount of its shell covering which is very common. Fossil eggs are much more harder to come by at this time because of new exportation laws in China.Â

Spinosaurus was the Dinosaur with the huge sailfish type sail on his back, and a big Alligator like head. He was the Star in the Movie Jurassic Park 3. An early Cretaceous Period Dino, Spinosaurus hunted along the river banks for fish, and anything else he could catch. An adult grew to 65 feet or more from nose to tail. This hand claw is Museum quality and it was recovered from Morocco in the Kem Kem Basin. This claw measures 8 7/8" long over the top curve, and 7 2/8" on a straight line. It has about 8 to 10% restoration which is fantastic considering that the average Dinosaur Fossil that is found, is only 30% complete. A Claw like this one normally sells for $ 3,000 to $ 7,500.00 at the better Fossil Auctions.Â

The flint on a couple of these is quite attractive. There is no modern damage or restoration to these points.Â

This set of African Elephant tusk weighed 91.5 pounds when the Bull was harvested. Now they weigh 39 1/2 x 38Â Lbs. As a set that's a total of 77 1/2 pounds. These measure 75" x 67 1/2" long. Both the circumference of 15" around. We have learned over the years from ivory experts, that it takes 15 to 18 months for Elephant Ivory to completely dry out to their final weights. Living in a humid area such as Florida or Georgia helps this process slow down, but dry area such as Arizona and Nevada speeds up the process. These tusk are tall and very attractive, and they will make great decor for any home, office, hunting lodge, cabin, etc.

This is our largest set of Elephant Tusk in this Auction. At the time of harvest, this pair weighed 132 1/4 pounds. Now the tusk we have 61 x 60 pounds, or a total of 121 pounds. These tusk measure 65" x 63 1/2" long. The circumference at the thickest part is 16"around on both tusk. One tusk had a bullet fragment about the size of a dime near the base. This caused a crack that traveled about 115" or 16", but the crack is fairly thin and hardly noticeable. The tusk are almost perfectly even, and these make a truly fantastic decorative pair.Â
