If you are a serious collector and traveled from show to show then you have heard of Trevor Turner. We are honoring his legacy by offering his collection of artifacts to the world. This meticulously curated assemblage spans decades of passionate acquisition and expert-level selection, with a strong emphasis on material, typology, and provenance. Featuring exceptional examples made of Dover chert, white / tallahatta quartzite, obsidian and other iconic regional materials. Many of the points have been classified and curated by source material or geographic origin, with a notable emphasis on the Southeastern U.S.—an area celebrated for its craftsmanship and rare lithics. A number of the artifacts trace back to renowned collectors such as Ralph Allen, Charles Dennison, James Ross Williams, Jr., John Cambron, David Hulse and others of similar stature—now deceased. Their legacy enhances the historical significance and integrity of this collection.

Curated Ancient Native American Artifact from Fusihatchee, Tallapooosa River Valley, AL Lot #30 (Sale Order 33 of 120) These 41 artifacts are from The Archaeological site 1EE191 of Fusihatchee in 1990 and founded by Trevor Turner during an Auburn University dig project. It was located in the Tallapoosa River Valley 12 miles from Montgomery. Inhabited from 1640-1813 by Creek Indians. Ohio Banded Slate Gorget with COA Lot #52 (Sale Order 55 of 120) Originated at Ohio. Small to medium size, almost square shape. Two-hole. Exhibits surface aging coloration and overall patination. Correct type hole drilling. Correct surface manufacture. Correct type of material and manufacture for area found. The one side hole drilling indicates Adena Period origin, with most opposite side drilling indicating Glacial Kame and Hopewell period. Comes with certificate of authenticity. Raymond Vietzen Collection / Indian Ridge Museum Lot #55 (Sale Order 58 of 120) This bannerstone was part of Colonel Raymond Vietzen’s collection at the Indian Ridge Museum in Elyria, OH. He was once president of the Ohio State Archaeological Society. He was involved in many digs in the late 1940s in Illinois. He was highly respected by Native Americans. Few holes, but not many. Has nice metal work on front from what appears to be a locking mechanism that was being added. Most of these trapper's baskets/chests are in poor condition or destroyed and to find one this complete and intact is unheard of.
