The barrel shows 60-70% original blue, there is an area of bright cleaning where pits were removed, extended 2 3/8" back from the muzzle and is approx 3/4" wide, otherwise barrel is near excellent. Ejector rod housing shows 70% thinning blue, cylinder shows 70-80% blue with a light index line, frame shows 50-70% model case hardening, back strap and trigger guard show 50% blue drifting to brown, grips are goodwith some slight edge wear, markings are sharp, action crisp, bore near excellent, front sight slimmed just a slight amount, hammer shows most modeled case hardening. A really good first generation which would improve with some touch upblue at the left front area where cleaned.

Unknown model number, 9 passenger-inside, circa 1975. Very good-plus condition throughout. Rear boot leather has dryness cracks and some minor tears. Has older,appropriate lamps and hitch equipment for four-up. One of the men's urinals is missing from under the front seat. In Feb 2010 all leather on rear boot, front side panels and curtains was replaced. Originally reassembled for Fritz Meyer of Lincoln City, Oregon in 1975-76. Oral history has it that Mayer took some acquired state coach parts to Frizzell to use in the construction of this coach. Mayer also requested that Frizzell install men's and ladies toilets under the two main interiorseats. Mayer provided antique bed pans for this purpose. The missing men's urinal has been missing since 1980 when Mayer brought the vehicle back to Oklahoma City. Mayer also requested that some very unusual and inappropriate scenes be paintedon the doors and that Wolverton Mountain Express be painted on the door headers. The vehicle arrived back in Oklahoma City in 1980 to be stored and protected from a bankruptcy situation in Oregon involving Mayer. The coach was stored

The serial number is on the interior of the action. The metal surfaces remainin fair to good condition showing a medium to dark brown patina finish, scattered light to moderate erosion surface pitting and some slightly heavier areas of pitting at the rear top of frame and trigger guard. The stocks are well-worn and showmany small dings, mars and scratches but are sound and generally good overall and the original butt plate is retained. There are three notches cut toward the rear of the butt; the marking in the wood is of the correct style but cannot beguaranteed absolutely.

Mid 19th Century Clip Point Bowie Knife measuring approx 12 1/2" in length with 7 1/2" blade. Simple Lot #361 (Sale Order 373 of 616) measuring approx 12 1/2" in length with 7 1/2" blade. Simple military style configuration with reinforced brass ferrule, brass triangular guard, wood broom handle type grip secured by brass rivets and shows pewter inlays of diamond andovoid shape. The blade is lightly hand engraved and etched. The etching barely legible and appears to read "Defender of a Pat" (most likely defender of the patriotic). The blade shows some pitting, edging, and wear, and is fair to good. The mountshow a deep patina. The wood grip is good. The pommel of the knife shows a pewter-inlayed are with a hole drilled in the center which may have been for a carrying ring, now lost. A very interesting knife of the Civil War Era which hasdistinct similarities to Hicks and Rifleman's Knives.

This particular example shows correct sight, trigger guard, and butt with trap and would be difficult to detect if not a firearms experts. 70-80%original blue, good markings, good action, very good bore.
