The unique and elaborate piece is centered by an all-felt mushroom surrounded by felt leaves and grasses upon which is seated a fantastic felt and silk caterpillar smoking an authentically-detailed hookah pipe. The pipe has been hand-carved out of wood and embellished with genuine 22-carat gold leaf. Gazing up in wonder is a diminutive one-of-a-kind all-felt Alice, fully-jointed and measuring just 11_" tall. Alice's face is delicately hand-painted and she features a meticulously hand-knotted mohair wig. Alice is outfitted as per the original colored Tenniel illustration in a beautifully tailored Victorian costume of silk and cotton batiste with tiny hand-cobbled leather slippers. These items are mounted on a felt-covered molded papier mache base measuring approximately 23" in diameter. The overall height of the piece is approximately 24". 24" "Goldilocks & the Three Bears", One-of-a-Kind Doll and Bear Set by Berdine Creedy 3000/5000 Lot #48 (Sale Order 48 of 59) The exceptional work of this beloved and vivacious doll artist, now celebrating her 10th anniversary in doll-making, is a reflection of her own positive personality. Yet rarely are collectors offered the opportunity to own a handmade porcelain doll of grand 24" size by Berdine Creedy. Goldilocks is that exception, and she is so beautiful. With porcelain head and limbs, cloth body with poseable interior armature, glass eyes, and human hair wig, Goldilocks wears a lovely silk dress with lace trim, as delicately created as all of the Creedy costumes. 21" Queen, "Life Is But A Dream", One-of-a-Kind Alice in Wonderland Set from the Alexander Doll Comp Lot #49 (Sale Order 49 of 59) Inspired by the characters of Alice in Wonderland, the Alexander Doll Company has created a one-of-a-kind showcase set of four characters from the childhood story. At centerstage is the Queen of Hearts, 21", with sleep eyes, whose imaginative costume includes a Swarovski-crystal decorated crown and 21" scepter. There are two Alice's, one 16" and one 9", and there is a charming 6" rabbit. Costumes are in the classic Alexander style of brocade, satin, velvet, silk, taffeta and fine cotton. This set will become the center stage of one important Alexander doll collection.

12" "Phoebe" from The Princess and the Frog Prince by Catherine Mather 800/1400 Lot #50 (Sale Order 50 of 59) The well-admired Australian artist, Catherine Mather declares that in her art she can remain a "forever child", and in this 12" romantic all-porcelain interpretation of the fairytale Princess seeking her Prince Charming who just happens to be disguised as a frog, she splendidly fulfills this fantasy.. Made in a limited edition of only 15, of which this is #7, "Phoebe" is all-porcelain, slip-cast, her long copper-colored mohair braids are handmade, and she wears a surcoat of gold silk brocade, an under skirt of pale turquoise silk georgette, turquoise silk slippers, and a conical hat of coral pink and gold tulle veil. Of course, she carries a porcelain frog who is wearing a gilt crown, a clue to his real self.

24" "Ann Bearie" a vinyl doll by Joann Pohlman from Dollmaker and Friends 200/500 Lot #51 (Sale Order 51 of 59) The artist, Joann Pohlman, describes the costume of this pretty doll as "bears, bears, bears all over" and, indeed, wearing the most unique costume of the day, you could truly say that "Ann Bearie's" dress is bearly there. Yet somewhere under those bears, 24" vinyl "Ann Bearie" is wearing an ivory dress with apron.

"Baby Little Bo Peep" is a one-of-a-kind artist doll by Charlie Dale 300/1000 Lot #53 (Sale Order 53 of 59) Charlie Dale presents this one-of-a-kind vinyl artist doll, "Baby Little Bo Peep", a baby doll created with a number of artistic processes commonly known as "reborning" to achieve a life-like appearance including realistically weight body and German glass eyes. The baby dress is made of hand-dyed satin and has almost 100 hours of hand sewn French silk ribbon embroidery that is highlighted with glass seed beads. The pinafore, slip, undershirt and pantaloons are made entirely of antique laces and trims, and the bonnet is trimmed with silk roses. Accompanying the doll is a scrapbook of photos and swatches concerning her creation and costume.

"Little Red" has a polymer clay head and limbs, and cloth body posed for sitting. She has glass brown eyes and wears a pretty dress, velvet cape, and antique fabric apron. She owns not only the wolf rug, but also a basket with some eggs and a wooden book.

14" "Make a Wish", One-of-a-Kind Doll by Wendy Froud 1000/2000 Lot #55 (Sale Order 55 of 59) The illustrator of the children's book, The Faeries of Spring Cottage, and the creator of many dolls and figures for films ranging from The Empire Strikes Back to The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, Wendy Froud has established herself at the forefront of artists creating mythical figures. Her "Make a Wish", appropriately named for its unique place in the CAAF venue, is hand-sculpted of FIMO, hand- painted by the artist, and appears on a special armature base. She has Persian lamb hair, her dress is pure shot silk and her delicate wings are of painted fabric with wire frame.

27" "Mariella" by Hildegard Gunzel with One-of-a-Kind Costuming. 700/1200 Lot #56 (Sale Order 56 of 59) A beautiful 20"doll, "Mariella", is the first sample of the well-known German artist's new line of resin dolls, just being introduced in 2006, and hand-painted by the artist. "Mariella" has a swivel head, quality glass eyes, human hair wig and leather shoes. Only 250 "Mariella" dolls will be created, but this one is unique as she is wearing a dress created especially for the CAAF auction.

"Gigant" is marked with the famous green heart on his chest., and has the Martin trademark cloisonnŽ pin on his body.
