Finnish Lappland Large Pukka Knife

This very interesting Finnish Lappland Pukka Knife is exceptionally long with a 8" blade and an overall length of 13". It has the traditional burl grip topped in brass, and a nicely tooled leather sheath. The wide blade is etched with the maker (historic J. Marttiini Knife Factory - established after WWI) and a village scene with reindeer. It is a much better than average Pukka, in very good condition.

US Special Forces Presentation Finnish Pukka Knife

A RARE US Army Special Forces Presentation Pukka Knife, commemorating the Finnish/US Spec-Ops hero Larry Thorne/Lauri Torni. The commemorative puukko was made by Iisakki Jarvenpaa Oy in Finland. On the right side of the blade is "Larry Thorne USA 10th SF" on the left side it says "Lauri Torni SA (in a box) SISSI". On the nickel silver bolster it has his service time in both the Finnish and US Army "1939-44-1952-69". The sheath has the US Special Forces shoulder sleeve insignia (patch) and the Finnish Sissi insignia. The butt is serial numbered "15". The blade is about 5" long, has a curly birch handle and is near mint. Only about 140 were produced, and were given to distinguished Spec-Ops personnel. The last one sold years ago went for $725! Larry Thorne was a Finnish WWII Captain who extensively fought the Soviets in the Winter and Continuation Wars, mostly behind enemy lines. He trained and fought with the SS until Finland expelled them. Dissatisfied with post-war Finland, he moved to the USA and eventually joined the US Army Special Forces. Stationed in Europe, Iran and later in Vietnam, he was highly decorated. He was killed on a clandestine mission in 1969.

US Marine Corps WWII Raiders Fighting Knife

This very rare US Marine Corps WWII issue Raiders Fighting Knife is in very good condition with intact guard. Based on the British Sykes-Fairbain and issued to elite Marine units like the Raiders, it was designed solely for knife fighting. They are seldom seen as the zinc handle often deteriorated - making it one of the rarest of WWII daggers. It came from an estate collection where the collector owned it for 45 years as a prized possession. It is complete with a WWII leather 2nd model sheath in very good condition. Even though it does not have the "USMC" logo on the blade (and small numbers didn't have them, or they wore off), it is the consensus of opinion of most of the local experts that this is an original Raider's stiletto. Small numbers of these were also issued to the 1st Canadian Paras in WWII, and like this example were unmarked. Blade is 7" long.

Imperial Japanese Army WWII era Shin-Gunto Samurai Sword

This war souvenir Type 94 Imperial Japanese Army Officer's Shin-Gunto Samurai Sword has a sword-smith handmade blade with a temper. Much higher quality than the later arsenal made swords, this Shin-Gunto is in very good condition with some tarnishing and slight nicks to the blade. Standard tsuba, menuki and wrapping are in very good condition, and it has a frayed Army Officer sword knot. The blade is 29" long and the 40" overall. Scabbard is in very good condition, and has a faded owner's "return" tag attached. Tang has many characters (see photos), but we have yet to ID the Sword smith. Appraised at $1100, it is a much better that average sword and you get to decide the price!

US Military Waters M-1836 Percussion Conversion Pistol - no FFL needed

This 1840 dated US Military Waters M-1836 Percussion Conversion Pistol is in fair to good condition. It was converted to percussion using the Belgian style nipple in the barrel conversion. It is missing the hammer screw and swivel ram-rod, and the nipple is a modern replacement. The metal is worn and the butt-stock is cracked, but the action still works. A fairly rare pistol that could stand some TLC.

An Imperial French 19th Century Percussion Conversion Pistol in fair condition. The brass furniture and wood stock are in good condition, but the steel parts are rusty and lightly pitted (no legible markings on the lock). Ramrod seems to be stuck and the action is a little weak.

Colt Model 1860 .44 Caliber Percussion Revolver - no FFL needed

A very good condition civilian Colt Model 1860 .44 Caliber Percussion Revolver (serial number 88735) that was purchased ten years ago as an original Vermont Civil War era Colt for $1800. Checking it out with our list of experts, it look like an authentic 1860, though it is in near immaculate condition except for finish wear. All lettering, cylinder scene and markings are sharp and correct, and all screw heads look unmarred. Rifling and nipples look near mint, action is tight and there is only a little wear and scratches on the wedge. Grips a crisp with no wear to the finish. There is about 65% bluing wear to the metal, and some mixed tarnish/patina to the brass (but no pitting). Everything checks out and it looks like a good Colt, but minty examples are hard to find! Look at the photos and bid accordingly.

Colt M-1877 Lightning "Store-Keeper" Double Action Revolver - no FFL needed

A nickel-plated Colt M-1877 Lightning "Store-Keeper" .38 caliber Double Action Revolver is very good condition. Nickel is about 60% but blends nicely into the steel. Hard rubber grips are worn but not cracked or chipped. Looks to be all matching with a good bore, and though the cylinder "floats" and trigger hangs up, the action does work in the single and double action mode. This is the rarer "Store-Keeper" model without an ejector housing, and barrel markings are very faint.

An unusual Colt New Service Double Action Revolver chambered for the .44-40 cartridge. It is in good/very good condition with about 40% original finish blended with a brown patina. There is some light pitting around the cylinder gap and top-strap. Hard rubber grips are very good, it has its lanyard ring and the action is tight. The unusually long barrel measures 7 1/2" (longest Colt made on a factory revolver) with a very good bore.

A very nice DWM produced German Weimar Republic Reichswehr 9mm P-08 Luger Semi-Auto Pistol produced in 1921 under the terms of the Versailles Treaty. It has the correct waffenampted, is all matching except for the later aluminum bottom magazine and has 95% original blue. It is not import marked, has very good checkered grips and a good bore. It is regimentally marked on the fore-grip to the 6th Headquarters Staff, and is overall a very pristine example of these scarce inter-wars military pistols.

It later saw service in WWII and was re-stamped by the Nazi Government. It is a 9mm DWM produced pistol and is mechanically tight. It is in near mint condition with 96% original finish and excellent bore. It has beautiful checkered wood grips, very good "straw" on the correct pieces, and a matching wood bottom magazine. All other parts match and this Luger comes with a 1941 dated black leather flap holster (WaA788) with a Nazi proofed loading tool. An opportunity to own a pistol that saw service with three different German Governments and in two World Wars! Consignor paid $3900 for this 10 years ago, and needs to move it - will take 25% less today!

RARE CSA Memphis Arsenal Conversion Austrian M-1842 Musket

Here we have a very RARE CSA Memphis Arsenal (or possibly Columbus, MS Arsenal) Conversion of an Civil War import Austrian M-1842 Musket. Though Austrian muskets were purchased by both the North & South, the drum conversion with a raised central disk on the side is associated with the two arsenals mentioned above. They were often carried out on captured US muskets captured in the Western Theater. The bayonet spring being removed, the German style hammer and the blacksmith forge repaired ramrod are all indicative of Confederate work, as the preponderance of firearms in the Union would have meant such muskets would have been discarded. Also stamped on the stock under the barrel and on the bottom of the barrel are the Roman numerals "XXXX", used by Confederate arsenals to help reassemble conversion muskets. The musket in in good condition and was found in a Richmond, VA attic where it had hung on the wall for over the last 50 years. A rare CS MUsket in good condition and you'll get to decide how high to bid on it.

A Rare CSA Virginia Manufactory Civil War A.B. Barrett & Co. Percussion Conversion Musket in good condition. A few thousand of these early Virginia Manufactory Flintlocks were converted using the Belgian "cone-in-barrel" by AB Barrett early in the war, and even fewer (a couple of hundred?) were rifled like this model. It has a 1817 dated Richmond lock and shows several period repairs and modifications. These Virginia produced long-arms are hard to find in any configuration, but these CSA conversions used in combat are even more desirable.

Using cut-down Springfield Trapdoor Rifles to duplicate the weight and feel of a M-1903 Springfield, a leather padded spring steel bayonet was attached to duplicate the M-1905 bayonet. These Fencing Muskets freed up real rifles and bayonets for combat, while providing a realistic and relatively safe training aid to the troops. This example is in very good condition and is seldom seen today.

RARE Colt-Burgess M-1873 Lever Action Rifle - no FFL needed

This RARE 15 shot Colt-Burgess Lever Action Rifle is serial numbered 1773 and was produced in 1883 - the first year of production. It is chambered for the 44/40 black powder cartridge and is complete with a Colt factory letter. The rifle is in very good condition with 50% original finish mixed with 50% patina. The action is tight and the bore is good. The wood is very good, all markings are clear (including the Rampant Colt), and is an attractive rifle. The Colt Factory Letter shows it sold in 1873 in New York City. According to popular lore, Winchester felt threatened by the marketing of the Colt Burgess. Winchester officials traveled to Colt headquarters with several advanced handgun designs and "asked for advice" on how to market them. Colt got the message, and offered to drop the Burgess if Winchester dropped their handgun proposals. True or not, it's and interesting story and the fact remains that the Burgess is a very rare rifle with just over 3800 produced. Values range from $4500 from Flayderman to $5500 from the Blue Book...though several have gone over $10,000 at auction! Our last one sold for $5000 and wasn't as nice!

This 1895 dated Winchester Lightweight Sporting Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle is a custom model chambered for the unusual 40-65 caliber cartridge. It is in very good condition, there are traces of case-hardening on the receiver, 80% blue of the hexagonal barrel and 90% finish on the wood. Looks like it might have had a tang sight at one time. It is still tight and mechanically fine. The bore is worn but fairly bright and it has a 26" bore. These Winchesters had some of the strongest actions and were popular Sporters up untill the 1930s. Values recently have been between $3500 and $6000 for similar models.

A rare and desirable US Navy Remington Model 720 30-06 caliber Bolt-Action Trophy Rifle in excellent condition. These rifles were developed by Remington just before WWII with just a few produced before the war caused Remington to cease manufacture. The whole stock was purchased by the US Navy with the thought to produce "sniper" rifles to pick off floating mines. Nothing was ever done, and after the war it was decided to use them as trophy rifles for match competitions. The 720 is a modified version of the 1917 Enfield rifle, and is a five shot 30/06. Very high quality, they ended up being prized possessions of those fortunate shooters to be awarded one. This particular rifle was awarded to top US Navy shooter (in shotgun, rifle and handgun in the mid 1970s) Jon Jenkins. It is in near mint condition with all the original and military proofs, as well as the original box! The last of these rifles were awarded out a few years back, and they are increasing in value daily (Blue Book lists them at $5000+). "JFC" cartouche on stock, bolt is marked wth a small 7 on the bottom and the safety lug has a small "D1" on the front flat. Overall condition is very good with metal finish at 85% and a nice single recoil bolt stock with one slightly bruised area. The bore is very good, and is complete with a 1915 RIA '07 sling, nickeled oiler and a "R" Ord stamped sight hood. A very good condition rifle seldom seen without modifications. RARE Transferable/Registered Live German WWII MP-40 Full-Auto Sub-Machine Gun - Class III

The MP 40 (MP designates Maschinenpistole, literally "Machine Pistol"), often called Schmeisser, were submachine guns developed in Nazi Germany and used extensively by paratroopers, tank crews, platoon and squad leaders, and other troops during World War II. This example was brought home from WWII as a war souvenir by a returning GI, who captured it in the Ruhr Valley in Germany. In 1968, it was registered with the BATF and is transferable. It is an operational full-auto MP-40 is good+ condition. Most numbers match, but there are several arsenal replaced parts (notably the trigger guard). Finish is about 60% with scattered light rust and slight pitting. Bore is fairly rough, we haven't tried cleaning it but it looks very worn. The Bakelite grips, sides and resting bar are very nice, but the resting bar has a piece of electrical tape that might be holding it on. The folding stock is fine, the markings ("fxo-41" - C.G.Haenel in 1941) are clear as are the waffenampts. It has a MP38/40 9mm magazine and the muzzle nut. We have not fired it, but looks like it is fully functional. Comes with the ATF paperwork and a notarized letter detailing its history from the soldier. The owner will retain possession until the required BATFE paperwork is processed, and then arrangements can be made to pick up the MP either here or where it is mutually convenient. This is a unique opportunity to legally buy one of these iconic SMGs, and you get to determine the price (many listed in the $22,000-$25,000 range) with you bids! Consignor will be on site Saturday with the MP for viewing.

This rare & near mint German WWII K43 8mm Semi-Auto Rifle was produced by Walther in 1945 and in is very good condition. Germany's answer to the Garand, these 10 shot semi-Automatic rifles were noted for their accuracy - many being employed as snipers. It is a dual lug, all matching 43 with an unsanded laminated stock, correct late war waffenampts, cleaning rod, scope mount, muzzle nut and front sight hood. The magazine looks correct, but we believe it's a reproduction. The finish on both the wood and metal are 90+%, and the bore looks near excellent. This is one of the best K43s we've seen and would be hard to upgrade!

An unusually large (30"x 38")personalized Civil War era Navy Veteran Service Document in good shape with a few water stains. It documents the service Harry Keakans, a sailor in 1861 and on the USS Colorado first at the Portsmouth Naval Yard and then the Gulf Squadron. He was discharged after two years and re-enlisted for two more. Still serving on the Colorado, he participated in the bombardments at Ft Fisher in Wilmington, NC. Damaged, the Colorado was at Brooklyn Navy Yard when Lincoln was shot. Keakans was ordered with the Colorado on a "round the world cruise" to search for the assassins. Honorably discharged in 1867, this print was given to him by his wife in 1893. The image was designed by J.W. Carnahan, 1891, for Monumental Bronze Company, Bridgeport, Connecticut, This large print was sold to finance the Easel Monument Project, which was an 1890s effort to create a memorial to the "Brave Boys in Blue" to be placed in the center of the Union Soldiers and Sailors National Park in 1898. This image is an artifact from an unsuccessful effort to create "a National Monument, dedicated to the Grand Army of the Republic and Kindred Societies." Comes with a patriotic frame, but no glass.

Uncle Tom's Cabin 1st Edition (Hardcover) by Harriet Beecher Stowe. Boston: John P. Jewett, 1852. 2 vols. First edition, 1852 Fifteenth Thousand - which is earliest printing we have seen in years (and was about the second or third week of publishing). Both volumes are in good shape and the front gilt is still bright on the covers of both volumes. The spine of one volume has a ragged piece torn off in the bottom about 1/2" wide at worst spot and about 2" long. The tops of the spines are frayed and all corners bumped and frayed. All pages edges still gilt! The inside of both volumes are very good with some page darkening. Both books are somewhat slanted but binding is still strong in both. Very good condition for these 1852 very early printings of this American classic. Look online and these go for up to $20,000 - here you can pick one up for a fraction of that!

Reference: RIC 81, C 234 IMPGORDIANVSPIVSFELAVG - Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right. PMTRPIIICOSPP - Gordian III riding horse left, raising hand and holding scepter. Gordian III was the grandson of Gordian I and nephew of Gordian II. Little is known about his reign, but in 242 A.D. he embarked on a campaign against the Persian Kingdom which was so successful the Persians had to evacuate Mesopotamia. However, Gordian III died shortly after, through illness or the machinations of his Praetorian prefect and successor, Philip I. Theses coins can go up to $350 each.

The Polaroid Electric Eye camera was manufactured for Polaroid by GE from 1961-1963. It used roll film that was discontinued in 1992, but some people who didn't care about maintaining the camera in original condition have successfully converted the 850 for use with 100 Pack film. The cameras were very heavy, but top of the line consumer models during their era. This example is in very good condition with the case and several packs of film.

The Roos Brothers tailored Ike Jacket has 2nd lieutenant bars, US and Coastal Artillery collar insignia, a ribbon bar with Asiatic-Pacific Campaign (with two stars), Philippine Liberation Medal, Philippine Presidential Unit Citation, five overseas stripes and an Anti-Aircraft Command shoulder patch. There was a patch on the other shoulder - now missing - that was probably the 4th Coastal Artillery. Coastal Artillery units were converted to AA units and sent overseas when the threat of invasion lessened.

Designed to combine combat fatigues with a flotation device, there were three versions of these coats produced in small numbers for the SEALs. This version had built in pockets for extra magazines and ammunition, others were for radiomen and grenadiers. Hard to find in any condition, this coat is missing two of the M-16 magazine pouches (could be repaired) and the inner floatation bladder (can be salvaged from a flight deck vest). These routinely go for up to $1500, bid hard - bid often!
