Suhl Germany Pre-War 12 ga Dbl Shotgun SN:21281 Lot #521a (Sale Order 208 of 706) BBLs marked "Remo and Krupp Essen" with fluid steel. Shows pre-Nazi era proofs. The action shows chiseled fences around breech and scroll engraving with cocking indicators. The gun has 27 1/2" BBLs, auto ejectors, double triggers. The forend is a replaced Beauertar and the butt stock is raise carved with a duck scene, signed and dated 1975. The BBLs and stocks are refinished and the action shows 50% original case color. The stock has been extended with spacers and Hawkins pad to 15 1/2" pull. Choked extra full and full. Bore is very good +; action is tight. A showpiece of pre-war German craftsmanship, prohibitive to replace at today's prices.

Custom Target on 1878 Borchardt Action Cal .45-70 Lot #523a (Sale Order 211 of 706) SN:19719, This is a finely made rifle, possibly by Niedner. The rifle shows a 33" tapered round BBL which is gold banded at the breech and muzzle. The rifle measures 54" from muzzle to tip of Schutzen style butt. It is nicely stocked in select light colored wood with crisp checkering by hand. There is a mount for palm rest and Schutzen butt plate is cast brass. Old reliable is gold inlaid on BBL and shows Sharps Rifle Company address. The action shows 50% 19th century case hardening. The BBL blue is of more recent vintage. The rifle is fitted with long range tang sight and spirit level front sight. The rifle weighs only 9.5 lbs and is beautifully balanced. This rifle was formerly in the Alexander and Ken Fox collection of SS rifles in Southern CA. Old man Alexander was the best known shooter and collector of SS rifles from 1930-60s in Lomita, CA. Ken Fox acquired the gun in the 60s or 70s and had modern reconditioning performed during that period. Mr. Fox thought the original work was done by Niedner before he tricked out the rifle for his extensive collection.

The S.A. has been professionally reblued with restored action using 2nd Gen hammer. The Bridgeport rig is an excellent 20-30 year old reproduction with correct markings. A great set for cowboy shooter. Belt is about size 40-42.

Full Stock American Kentucky Rifle Cal .45 Approx Lot #603a (Sale Order 336 of 706) SN:NVSN, Of diminutive size, made for lady or young squire. The rifle measures approx 46" and only 12" from the trigger to the butt plate. The rifle shows a conversion from F/L to percussion with fancy engraved patch box and single trigger. Lock plate is secured by two screws and there is an unusual engraving of a hound dog on tang and breech end of BBL that may be a signature. The stock has been refinished and repaired with light to almost no sanding and the forend repaired (showing an old brake). The lock is not working. A classic and showy rifle with a great patch box tat was purchased in the 1950s from an antique store near Hagerstown, PA. and looks Southern PA made.

Wilson page 164 for almost identical engraved pistol which is numbered 317503 and is only 7 numbers away. This Colt remains in original good condition with a patina finish, some light to moderate pitting and normal aging and wear from use. The grips are good, markings are good, all matching serial numbers. The front sight is a period addition of copper blade, probably from a coin. A desirable and original early Colt.

Marked: "ADDRESS COL. SAM COLT NEW YORK U.S. AMERICA" on top of barrel, Colt's patent stamped on left side of frame. This gun is in fair to good condition with patina on frame, hammer and cylinder. There is a screw missing on the frame, the right grip is undersized, there are dings and scratches on the barrel, the action is tight and working. This is a nice reproduction of the Colt 1860 Army.
