Tag# 218: A.P. Casey inspected U.S. Colt S.A. Calvary Mod. Serial no. 18,925, .45 Colt cal., original 7 1/2" bbl., blue/casehardened finish, origl one pc. Walnut grips. Made in 1875. All proof and inspection marks are in agreement with size and locations, depicted in John Kopec's book, "A Study of the Colt Single Action Army Revolver." Accordingly, the serial no. is in range used by the Cavalry of Idaho militia during the Nez Pierce Indian Wars. This gun was purchased by the seller over 40 years ago and reportably came from a family in Cottonwood, Idaho, which was passed down in the family for 80 years before the sale. Condition: Very Good to Fine. Retains approx. 15% of orig. blue in protected areas with moderate service wear, and bal. of a pleasing gray-brown patina. Case colors are visible on frame and hammer with very good origin. Grips showing partial outline of inspector's cartouche. Some slight pitting on left of muzzle and small parts of cyl. but nothing out of ordinary for issued gun of this age. Mechanical condition is very good with tight action and good serviceable bore. OVERALL, A VERY GOOD EXAMPLE OF A RARE AND DESIRABLE U.S. COLT WITH IDAHO ROOTS AND A BOX OF ORIGINAL 1874 CARTRIDGES AS WERE ISSUED DURING THAT ERA.

Tag# 219: Rare, U.S. marked Smith & Wesson First Mod. Schofield Revolver. Serial No. 1390. In .45 Schofield cal. With 7" bbl., original blue finish and walnut grips. Made in 1875, this gun was one of the first models inspected by Samuel B. Lewis with much of the recognizable cartouche on left grip panel and an L inspectors stamp on flat of bbl. lug, as well as back of cylinder below corresponding serial number. This gun reportably came from Grangeville, Idaho, and was purchased over 30 years ago as part of a Nez Pierce Indian Wars collection by seller. This and previous 1875 Colt could possibly have been used during the battle of White Bird Hill. All features and inspection marks are correct, in accordance with both John Kopec's and Roy Jink's books describing this model. Condition: Very Fine. The gun retains approx. 70% of orig. thinning blue on frame and bbl. with most wear on backstrap. Cylinder has blue in flutes with most turning brown patina. Strong traces of orig. case colors on hammer and trigger guard. Some slight pitting at front 1/2" of right side around bbl. frame screw. Trigger pin appears to possibly be field replacement. Overall, an exceptional example of a First Mod. Schofield Smith & Wesson in great mechanical condition, with strong bore and of historic importance. Complete with box of original cartridges.

Tag# 220: Smith & Wesson New Mod. Number 3 Target Revolver in .44 S&W Russian cal. Serial No. 26669. Made in the early 1890's with all orig. 6 1/2" bbl, blue and casehardened finish, original black hard rubber grips properly numbered to the gun. The No. 3 Targets were the premier 19th century target gun. The bbl., cyl., and frame are all properly numbered with approx. 90% original "striated" thinning blue which is typical of S&W's of the era. 50% case colors on the trigger guard and hammer. The rear sight is adjustable and is mounted on the barrel catch. Grips are excellent. This would be a wonderful addition to anyone's S&W collection.

Barrel lengths are 4”, 6”, and two of them are 8” with one being marked on the side of the barrel shroud with "THE SIXGUNNER.” This very rare sixgun shoots .45 Winchester Magnum, .460 Rowland, and .45 ACP loads using moon clips. Condition is excellent and the gun case also holds a cleaning rod and the Dan Wesson barrel wrench as well as several interchangeable front sights. There are special cuts in the underlug, as well as polished highlights. Cuts are also carried out on the main underlug which encloses the ejector rod. Finish is satin stainless steel and grips are Hogue pebble grained rubber finger grooved grips. This is the most powerful production revolver ever produced.
