The 1953 $2 red seals are getting more difficult to come by especially in higher grades. Beautiful design, bold inking with deep embossing gives these notes super eye appeal. Strike is usually decent on this issue and luster is often very nice. This is an Average example of the coin. They are a little unusual in that someone thought a troy pound contained 16 troy ounces (a troy pound is actually 12 troy oz) so the "One pound" medallions they mint contain 16 troy oz, their "half pounds" are 8 troy oz and "quarter pound" means 4 ounces. This beautiful silver art round contains 8 troy oz ("one half pound") .999 fine silver minted as a proof. The round is lightly toned with a mirrored background and still sealed in plastic.
