1913 Case 30-60, Sn. 882

Lot #1 (Sale Order 1 of 65)

You can't get much rarer than the 30-60 Case! Case had been playing with the idea of an internal combustion tractor as early as 1894. After nearly 20 years of on again and off again experimentation, they introduced the 30-60. The first Case tractor and the start of a long and successful line of Case tractors whose heritage continues today. There were 493 of these tractors built from 1912 to 1916. Only 5 of these tractors are left in existence!!! Two are owned by shows, two in tightly held collections and this tractor - possibly the only one you will ever have the opportunity to purchase. The 30-60 is a heavy tractor (28,500 lbs) and has 6 foot drive wheels. These tractors were built very heavy, even using some of the Cast steam engine components in it's construction. The “dainty” 10” bore and 12” stroke turns at only 350 r.p.m.’s turns out incredible lugging power. Each stroke of the crankshaft was a power stroke that brings a unique sound and ambiance to the tractor. There were two speeds forward and one in reverse. As they say, hindsight is 20/20 – a new 30-60 could be bought F.O.B. Racine for all of $2,500 with a 5% discount for cash! George acquired this tractor from the Sig Jacobsen collection and was owned by John Tysse and Harold Ottaway before that. The tractor underwent MAJOR restoration which included a total rebuild of the engine, new sheet metal, cab and radiator reworked, and of course a professional paint job. George has used this tractor at many shows! Even though it is one of the rarest and most prominent tractors in the entire hobby, it is not a static display. It has been in the field and on the belt many times, being used for its intended purpose. This Case 30-60 is to the tractor hobby what the Duesenberg is the automobile hobby. 1918 Huber Model 35-70, Sn. 559

Lot #2 (Sale Order 2 of 65)

Huber Manufacturing of Marion, Ohio produced some of the finest machines of the era. They were well known for quality engineering and dependable tractors. Of all the tractors in the line, the 35-70 was the king! The earlier model was known as the 30-60 but was later rerated to the 35-70. There are just three of this size Huber tractors known. One is an earlier model 30-60 that is owned and shown at the Rollag Show. There is one other 35-70 held in a Kansas collection. This tractor makes the last of three known in the world! When you think of a “big” prairie tractor – this is just about as big as it gets! Eight foot rear wheels and 5 foot fronts set this tractor high in the sky! The operators platform resembles more of a porch than it does a space for the driver. The 95 gallon tubular type radiator is imposing when standing at the front of the tractor. The four cylinder engine has a 7” x 8” bore and stroke. This tractor was acquired from the famed Oscar’s Dreamland collection and was in poor condition upon it’s arrival. The tractor underwent an extensive restoration that included a total engine rebuilt. The crank underwent a complete rebuild to repair several cracks after years of use. The restoration was long, extensive and expensive. What this has produced is the finest Huber Prairie Tractor in existence – bar none! You will have ONE opportunity to own this tractor!

1918 Rumely Oil Pull Model 30-60, Sn. 1887

The Rumely name is a famous one in tractor circles and the 30-60 Model E is the crown jewel! Every Rumely man has dreamed of owning one of these giants. So named because of it’s unique oil cooling design, the sound of the Oil Pulls is distinctive and one they can call their own. Proven on the belt and never questioned for it’s pulling power, the 30-60 was used widely in the wheat fields of the northern United States and Canada. This particular tractor has been put to work at many shows by George on sawmills and other belt work. The tractor was $4,300 brand new with the two cylinder 10” x 12” bore and stroke spins around at a leisurely 375 r.p.m. It weighs in at right around 26,000 pounds. This particular tractor has a great history as it was one of the last owned by “Rumely Bill” Krumwiede and was reportedly one of his favorites. The tractor has been said by many to be one of the nicest mechanical 30-60’s known. The tractor is tight and has probably not seen a lot of work in it’s life. Minor things like rebuilding the ignitors and some carburetor tune up is all that has been done the tractor since bought by George.

1923 Avery Model 45-65, Sn. 27088

The Avery 45-65 was first introduced as the 40-80 but was later rerated in 1920 to better reflect the actual horsepower ratings. This tractor is one of the later examples with the automotive type radiator that replaced the older round radiator design on earlier Avery tractors. The big four cylinder horizontally opposed engine was touted in Avery sales literature as having the ability to easily pull 8 to 10 bottoms or 18 disc plows. This particular tractor was acquired by the Schaaf Museum by private sale in Pennsylvania. It underwent a meticulous restoration within the last 2 years. It is truly a piece of mechanical art that has underwent a full, immaculate restoration. It runs as good as it looks and is an easy tractor to start and operate. A professional, immaculate restoration makes it stand out anywhere it has been shown!

1918 Aultman Taylor Model 30-60, Sn. 3068

Lot #5 (Sale Order 5 of 65)

The Aultman Taylor 30-60 may very well be one of the most well known Prairie tractors with it’s distinctive look and sound. Aultman Taylor introduced gas tractors in 1910 and the 30-60 initially had a square radiator. Later sometime around 1914 the trademark tubular radiator was introduced. The tractor was always at the very top of the Aultman Taylor line. It’s a tractor of impressive proportions with 90 inch drive wheels which sets it nearly 12 feet in the air. The full canopy makes it seem even bigger. The power plant is a four cylinder 7” x 9” bore and stroke which consistently put it at the top of it’s class in the day. This particular tractor is mechanically superb with an older restoration. The tractor was acquired from the Kuiper Collection and has been a staple at the Will County Threshers show. It has routinely pulled 10-12 plows at the show in demonstrations. It is always ready to go to work – and the show!

1925 White Tanker Truck, Sn. 127750

In 1909, White introduced a line of cars powered by gasoline engines. The last White steam cars were built in 1911. Meanwhile, White had become one of the world's leading manufacturers of heavy-duty trucks. The company discontinued its automobile lines in favor of truck production after the 1918 model season, although passenger cars remained available by special order for a time. This truck is hard to describe in words! It's a piece of mechanical art! Originally bought from the Van Horn Truck Museum in Iowa who found it in the dry climate of northern Minnesota. George has always considered this White as the best restoration they ever did on a truck. The rebuilt engine has this jewel running as good as it looks!

1933 Buick Series 57 Sedan, Sn. 2682928

Lot #7 (Sale Order 7 of 65)

1933 was a year of style changes for Buick, but due to the depression, it was also the worst sales year since 1915. The new V shaped grill gave the Buicks a real art deco look that is widely admired today! Class permeates this car! Impeccable restoration both cosmetically and mechanically. You can barely hear it run when standing next to it! This car was bought locally and has been in the collection for a very long time. It underwent a complete 7 year restoration. The motor was rebuilt and the frame off detail was put into this car. You have to see this one to appreciate it – wonderful in every aspect!

1919 Atlas Topp Stewart Four Wheel Drive, Sn. 1085

This Topp Stewart was originally purchased by a township near Caspian, MI in 1919 to build roads and was then sold to a local farmer for plowing use who owned it until 1985. It was then part of the Krause collection where it underwent a full restoration. The lineage of this 90 year old tractor can be traced all the way back to the first owner! It’s powered with a 4 cylinder Waukesha engine that sounds very “throaty”! It is truly a unique experience to operate the tractor, a true idea that was far ahead of it’s time! Ever wanted to own a one of a kind? Here it is – the only known example of a Topp Stewart 4 Wheel Drive! There is only one chance to own this one!

1923 Avery Model 25-50, Sn. 26036

The 25-50 was one of the most popular tractors sold by the Avery company. There were two styles, the early model with the round radiator and the later model with the automotive style radiator. This early example was painstakingly restored to a level never before seen by us! This tractor was bought privately in Idaho and has been completely rebuilt from one end to the other, including extensive engine work. It is equipped with a rare factory option Contractor’s Canopy and starts and runs as well as it looks. We very, very rare describe a tractor as perfect – this one is as close as it gets! You truly have to see this tractor to appreciate it!

1920 Tillsoil Model 18-30, Sn. 176

They just don’t get a whole lot more rare than the Tillsoil 18-30! This tractor was reportedly engineered by engineers from Hart Parr that wanted to give it a try in Canada. You can certainly see the influence of Hart Parr designs in the tractor. It’s got a sound all it’s own! It’s just one of around 5 known with three in museums in Canada. This tractor came from an advanced Kansas collection a few years ago. It went under a frame up restoration with an engine rebuild that has it running as good as it looks. A truly impeccable restoration to an exceptionally rare tractor!

1922 Diamond T Model U, Sn. X14652

Lot #11 (Sale Order 11 of 65)

Diamond T started out manufacturing automobiles, just as most truck companies did. In 1911 they made a switch to trucks and became one of the best known manufacturers of all time. They were, and still are, admired widely for their high quality and stylish lines. Early advertising touted them as “The Nation’s Freight Car.” This model U 2 ½ ton stake truck was professionally restored from the ground up. It has had a complete engine rebuild, all new wood and an immaculate paint job. This is a striking vehicle that was both a AACA Junior and Senior division winner. Rare to be offered for sale and even rarer to find in this kind of quality condition.

1939 Gmc Afr Series Coe, Sn. 752339

You can hear this one coming! The GM diesel engine sounds great and is responsive and full of power! This super rare cab over GMC AFR 752 was later repowered to an ADF diesel. It's one of only 4 AFR's built in 1939. This truck came from Colorado and was previously owned by Dr. Bill Comcowich of ATHS fame. It has been driven to numerous truck shows and is road ready. Jump in this truck and drive it away!

1953 Mack Model W-71st, Sn. 1015

This super rare Mack was owned by renowned truck collector Dr. Bill Comcowich and has been a staple at numerous ATHS shows over the years. It was driven on a Memorial Convoy honoring its past owner on a long distance trip. This truck is in great mechanical condition – jump in it and drive! This truck was actually used in an instructional video on double sticking. Built from 1953 to 1958, there were only 217 W-71’s built, making it a super rare truck. The 275 h.p. Cummins super charged engine will make this truck work and run with the best of them! Long thought of as one of the true classics of the Mack line, this may be one of very few opportunities you will ever have to own a W-71.

REO stood for Ransome E. Olds, the maker of what has been advertised as “The Toughest Truck Ever Made”. Starting in 1905 in the automobile business, trucks became a major part of the line in 1910 and then were exclusive in 1936. Reo styling is unique! They set the stage for “streamlining” and have a very art deco feel to them. This great looking truck underwent a professional restoration and is a past AACA winner. The truck runs great and is ready for any show or parade.

1950 Mack Garbage Truck - Refuse Getter, Sn. A30h1109

Lot #15 (Sale Order 15 of 65)

This truck is a local workhorse! The refuse bed can be traced back to it’s original owner, the Village of Shorewood, Wisconsin. It saw continuous service in and around the city of Chicago until 1972. The Leach Refuse unit is now mounted on a 1950 B model Mack truck. This entire unit went under an extensive restoration by Chicago Disposal and was used as a promotional truck in parades and demonstrations. This is a rare body and a difficult restoration. 1923 Buick Series 230 Model 55 Sport Touring, Exceptional In Every Way

The Model 55 was what every young man of the era wanted! It was the sporty version of the touring car he could load all of his friends up in and stroll through the city. The Sport Touring was one of the pricier models that year, costing an “enormous” $1,675, while the Model T Ford was just This car was originally owned by Old Cars Weekly founder Chet Krause. It is an older restoration, but very, very nice. It has always had great care in climate controlled facilities and can be shown or driven. Beautiful runner!

This tractor was purchased in South Dakota several years ago. It is essentially the same tractor as the round radiator version, but later. The tractor was in very good condition when it came into the collection. A mechanical inspection proved that some minor tweaking and the subsequent cosmetic restoration brought it up to its present condition! A great runner and easy starter!

1917 Mogul Model 10-20, Sn. Bc5645

International Harvester produced thousands of tractors in its Mogul line. The model 10-20 is a hard to locate model, much rarer than the 8-16. This example came from central Illinois and has had the engine rebuilt and new sheet metal installed. Included with this tractor is a very hard to find original plow guide. It runs great and is ready to go to the field.

Wow! That's all we have to say about this totally original tractor. Purchased in the dry climates of Kansas several years ago, you can still see the original decals all over this tractor. 1918 Winther Marwin 4 Wheel Drive Stake Truck, Sn. 1144

Martin P. Winther, an engineer with the Jeffery Company of Racine, Wisconsin, began building trucks in 1917. This was one of the earliest four wheel drive trucks to date and was made to navigate the primitive Wisconsin roads. This truck came from the Krause collection and has underwent a professional restoration.

Henry Ford offered the Model T in two colors - light black and dark black! Of all the different models of Model T's available, the little Roadster was the sportiest and most fun to run around in. Recent updates to this little car include a new interior, new tires and electric start, a great original car that is ready to go.

1926 Linn Halftrack Logging Truck, Sn. 1313

These giant trucks were built to replace the steam log haulers that were popular in the northwoods of the United States. This model 626E is one of only around a couple dozen left in existence. George has actually taken this truck to shows and loaded it down with logs - putting it right to work. Talk about a show stopper!

1917 Avery Model 8-16, Sn. 8393

This was the smallest tractor in the Avery line until the introduction of the 5-10. This small 4,900 pound tractor was purchased in Nebraska and went under a complete, ground up restoration. It starts and runs well and has been exhibited at several shows. It has all the same look and feel of the big ones, in a small easy to haul tractor!

1917 Avery Model 5-10, Sn. 9351

Lot #32 (Sale Order 32 of 65)

This tractor was actually Avery's answer to the cheap little tractor that Henry Ford started producing in 1916. Upon its introduction it was only priced at $295. The little four cylinder engine and friction drive transmission went through a total restoration and is immaculate. Originally bought in Nebraska, starts and runs great.

1926 Baker Model 25-50, Sn. 1115

Lot #33 (Sale Order 33 of 65)

The Baker was one of the most under-rated tractors of all time. Marketed as a 25-50, it actually showed as a 43-67 when tested at Nebraska. They were exceptionally well built and known for their quality as well as the power. This particular tractor is the only known factory blue Baker. The painstaking restoration was fully documented showing the original blue paint and pinstripes. The Wisconsin engine makes the tractor even more desirable! When found, the tractor was still belted up to a sawmill in Southern Indiana. Incredibly impressive and a perfect restoration!

1928 Minneapolis Threshing Model 39-57, Sn. 292114

Lot #34 (Sale Order 34 of 65)

There were reportedly 12 of these tractors ever built. This is the later version of the 30-50 that was re-rated to show the true horsepower. This was the end of the "Great Minneapolis Line" before it became part of Minneapolis Moline. One of just a few known with in immaculate restoration. Originally part of the Richey collection from Ohio, the restoration is less than a year old!

1926 Minneapolis Threshing Model 30-50, Sn. 8669

Only around 9 of these tractors were built toward the end of the Minneapolis Threshing Machine Company line. It was the predecessor to the 39-57 and was later re-rated to show the correct horsepower rating. This is the earlier version and tagged as the 30-50.

1916 Duplex 4 Wheel Drive Truck, Sn. 69384

This very early example of a four wheel drive truck was bought locally. It is also the only known example of a Duplex truck! The engine and drive train have been rebuilt and it is just waiting on a cosmetic restoration. One of the rarest trucks at the auction!

1926 Rumley Oilpull Model M, Sn. 1699

This 20-35 model M Rumely was professionally restored down to the smallest detail. It is part of the "Lightweight" line and is big enough to use on the thresher, but small enough for easy hauling. This tractor was bought as-is and is a pleasure to operate.

1920 Eagle Model 12-22 Model F

The Eagle tractors have a sound of their own! This fine example was part of the Krause collection and was tuned by one of the hobby's finest old iron mechanics! It is well restored and is a rare find by any standards.

1928 Lauson Model 25-45, Awesome Runner, Top Notch Mechanical Tractor

George was particularly proud of the Lauson and loved the smooth 6 cylinder engine. Previously part of the May collection, it has always had excellent care. This tractor was used on the belt frequently and had even ran nearly 60 h.p. on a dynamometer.

1918 Sawyer Massey Model 11-22, Sn. 797

All Sawyer Massey tractors are hard to find and this little 11-22 is no exception. With a sound all of its own, they are a pleasure to drive and operate. This tractor was bought as-is from a Texas collection and is an older restoration.

1928 Ford Model A Snowmobile, Sn. A322877

This super rare Ford Model A has a RARE aftermarket snowmobile attachment. Everything still works just as it did with the original owner in northern Minnesota when he needed it to navigate the snowy backroads. Exceptionally hard to find in this condition, runs great.

1953 Ford Customline, Sn.

This great looking car was restored about 6 years ago and sports a V-8 engine and a three speed transmission. It is equipped with deluxe wheel covers, a factory sun visor and has great chrome. It is a good rust free car that is a great Sunday driver!

1936 Dodge Model Lc Pickup, Sn. 8133986

You have to love the lines of this little pickup! The new "Fore-Point" lines were introduced in '36. It was purchased as-is and has a good restoration, runs great and is even decked out with period looking whitewalls. Some minor cosmetic restoration has been done and the brakes have been recently overhauled.

1962 Chevrolet C10 Pickup, Sn.

This pickup has underwent a recent restoration that included a new bed and a lot of extras. It has great chrome, V-8 with a 4 speed transmission, air conditioning, power steering and lots of pizzazz! Pickups are on the rise, buy this one while there is still time!

A fabulous restoration makes this Huber jump out in a crowd. The crossmotor 4 cylinder engine runs great and starts easily. This tractor originally came from Arizona and was professionally restored.

This tractor ran great when it was purchased from an Illinois collection. The Schaaf crew did some minor tuning and repainted the tractor as well as replacing gas tanks and some other sheet metal. A good, solid crossmotor ready to be used for plowing or parade.

This tractor was one of the earliest pieces of iron in George's collection. It was bought many years ago in Minnesota and has always been a great runner. Even though not exceptionally rare, it holds a spot in his heart from the many hours spent at the controls!

This is a very rare, early example of the 25-50! Known as the "Drop Hood" version, there were only 7 ever built! Later tractors had a larger gas tank and the hood was then raised to the top of the radiator. This was originally part of the Marhanka collection and underwent a complete professional restoration - near perfection!
