Under the Third Reich, the factory was seized from the Jewish Simson family, and was renamed Simson & Suhl. German Contract Bulgarian WWI-II 9mm Semi-Automatic Pistol - FFL # 644C Lot #75 (Sale Order 76 of 276) A rare example of an all original, unaltered 1908 DWM Bulgarian contract Luger pistol. There were exactly 10,000 of these pistol ordered by Bulgaria in the 1908-10 time frame in two different blocks of serial numbers. This specific pistol falls into the second block of serial numbers as it has the small letter "c" suffix. Although produced in fairly large numbers, these are very difficult examples to obtain in original unaltered condition (such as this example) as they saw heavy used in both the WWI and prewar era with most having been rebuilt at least once or twice by DWM and then again after WWII when most of them were captured by the Russians. The chamber is marked with the DWM scroll monogram and unique Bulgarian Crest on top of the front toggle. This crest consists of the Bulgarian Crown over a shield with a rampant lion inside. The right side of the barrel extension is stamped with a single "Bulgarian Rampant Lion" acceptance/proof mark with no other acceptance proofs anywhere. The lower safety lever area is marked "FIRE" and the left side of the extractor is marked "LOADED" both in Cyrillic lettering. It is matching except for the magazine which is 5 numbers off. The pistol frame has the distinctive Bulgarian lanyard loop on the bottom of the rear grip strap. Overall condition is good+ with some light pitting.

Austrian Steyr-Hahn M1912 Nazi-Police 9mm Para Semi-Automatic Pistol - FFL # 6594Y Lot #80 (Sale Order 81 of 276) Here's a Steyr Hahn Model 1912 Pistol that was originally manufactured in Austria in 1919. During the Nazi era, in about 1940-1941, it was reworked for issue to the German Police forces. As part of the rework, the pistol received a new barrel chambered for 9mm Parabellum. To indicate the change, the slide was stamped with "08", the German designation for the 9mm service cartridge. The pistol was also marked with the Eagle/N test proof on the barrel and left side of the frame as well as the Eagle/L Police acceptance on the right. The frame, slide and barrel all have matching serial numbers and the Steyr "K" proof is present on all parts. There are NO import markings as this is likely a WWII "bring-back" pistol. The arsenal finish rates about 92-93% overall with some thinning to the grip straps and sharp edges. There is no significant rust or pitting. The original checkered walnut grips are in excellent condition, free of cracks or chips. The mechanics are in good working order and the bore is very good with bright, sharp rifling.
