Orange Crush Bottle Openers with Crushy

Offers are three different Orange Crush Soda bottle openers circa 1930. Two of the openers feature the character or mascot they created to help promote Orange Crush Soda in their early years while the third opener features an image of their famous and familiar embossed soda bottle. The first two openers are both 2-11/16" tall x 7/8" wide and the other one is 3-1/8" tall x 1-1/2" wide. All three have nice detail and shine along with text or graphics on both sides.

Columbia River Mule Ear Arrowhead

Offered is a Columbia River Mule Ear arrowhead found by Frank Buehler at the Wakemap Mound Site. This arrowhead is approximately 2" x 1-11/16" in size and is made from a multi-colored agate. This piece has some of Buehler's reference numbers on one side. Buehler's artifacts were found from the 1930s through the 1960s at Oregon Archaeological Society dig sites in the region. Buehler was a well-known and respected amateur archaeologist, historian, and collector, and all the artifacts from his collection we are offering have not been offered for public sale until now.

Evel Knievel Snake River Canyon Jump Poster

Lot #3 (Sale Order 3 of 365)

Offered is a color poster of daredevil Even Knievel's attempt to jump the Snake River Canyon on September 8, 1974. The telecast was shown on a big screen television at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon. It was more like a large movie screen and was long before Pay-Per-View like we have today. This was an event everyone was talking about and was shown all over the world. This original poster is measures approximately 14" x 21" and was printed on heavy white stock. The poster is used with tack holes to the corners, light bends, fade, and tape on the back. It is a neat part of history!

Dietz Scout Skaters Lantern

Offered is a circa 1910 Dietz Scout kerosene skater's lamp. The lamp stands approximately 7-5/8" tall with the handle down and is 3" in diameter. The wick moves up and down when you turn the control knob. The glass globe is embossed "DIETZ SCOUT - N.Y. U.S.A. H 5" and is easily removed for cleaning. This is a neat looking old vintage lamp!

Campbell's Pork and Beans Trolley Sign

This lot is for a circa 1925 lithographed trolley sign advertising Campbell's Pork and Beans from the Campbell Soup Company in Camden, New Jersey. The sign is printed on a thick card stock and is approximately 21" long x 11" tall. The colors are subtle, yet they get your attention. Both bottom corners have dings or bends, and there is a one-inch tear on the bottom edge between the "B" and "E" in Campbell's. This sign has no nail or tack holes.

Three United States Morgan Silver Dollars

This lot is for a set of three 1921 Morgan silver dollars. This was the last year this coin was produced, and this set includes a coin from each of the three different mints: San Francisco, Denver, and Philadelphia. These are ungraded United States Morgan silver dollars, straight from a local estate and sold exactly as received. As with all of our coins, we leave the final determination of the condition and grade of the coin to the buyer.

Coon Chicken Inn Matchbook Covers

Up for bid is a lot of original Coon Chicken Inn matchbook covers. The matches have been removed and the covers laid flat. Three covers list the three operating restaurants located in Seattle, Portland, and Salt Lake City. The fourth matchbook also lists the Spokane, Washington location that never opened. This consignor is from Portland and guarantees the items are authentic. Please see lot #73 for a description of the Coon Chicken Inn's history.

The Electric Last Minute Janis Joplin Poster

Offered is an original 1968 Janis Joplin poster. The poster is from the short lived Publication Eye Magazine and was an insert in the July 1968 Vol. 1 No. 5 issue. The poster is signed Parker and is approximately 19-1/4" x 25-1/4" in size. It was folded when issued and has wear to the folds, as well as residue from tape on the corners. The colors are still bright and this poster just waiting for the right collector to display and enjoy it.

First Day Postage Cover Collection

This lot is an assortment of 115 different first day covers in an original album that holds 100 covers with 15 additional loose covers. The covers are from 1945 through 1959, with most being from the United States and a few from the United Nations. There are several different ones relating to World War II and some about stamp collecting. There is even one for the first helicopter flight for air mail! You will receive the album with 15 loose covers for your winning bid!

Gold and Diamond Ring

Offered is a size 9 yellow gold diamond ring. The ring features ¼ carat total weight of diamonds set in both white and yellow gold. The ring is marked "10k ¼ TW" on the inside. We tested the ring, and it is 10k gold with a weight of 2.5 grams.

John R. Byng Drawing/Poster

This drawing by John R. Byng titled, "A Lumber Town During the 40s & 50s" features most businesses in a town, including a Chevrolet dealership, church, newspaper, market, library, etc. The bottom of the poster shows the Barnum & Bailey Circus train passing through town. This is an original drawing and shows Byng's pencil lines, erases, and marker runs from water damage. This drawing is approximately 28" wide x 16" tall and has many details for the observer to enjoy.

Deschutes River Arrowhead

Offered is a Columbia River Basin arrowhead found in the Deschutes River Basin of Oregon by Frank Buehler. The arrowhead is 1-1/8" x 3/8" and made from a piece of black agate. Buehler's artifacts were found from the 1930s through the 1960s at Oregon Archaeological Society (OAS) dig sites. Buehler was a well-known and respected amateur archaeologist, historian, collector, and a founding member of the OAS.

Blue Ribbon Honey Tin from Yakima, Washington

This lot is for an empty five-pound honey can for Blue Ribbon Pure Honey from The Blue Ribbon Bee Farm in Yakima, Washington. The graphics show an old bee hive with bees flying around it with a simple logo, which are the same on both sides. There is no zip code or zone stated, so we think this is circa 1950. The can is 5-3/4" tall x 5-1/8" in diameter with a plain metal lid.

Kay Nielsen's illustration Plate #1

Lot #14 (Sale Order 14 of 365)

This is the first of three wonderful circa 1920 full color tipped-in plates we will be offering in this auction. It is from perhaps the most beautiful children's book ever published, "East of the Sun and West of the Moon: Old Tales from the North. The artist is Kay Nielsen and the plate was used to illustrate the many Norse tales in the book. The plate was created in a preparatory ink and watercolor style and is still attached to the page. The image is approximately 5-1/4" x 7" with a 11" x 14" mat. This item is ready to drop into a ready-made frame.

Minnesota AAA License Plate Topper

This is the first of four different AAA Toppers we have in this auction. This one is for Minnesota State Automobile Association and is the only one with embossed text. It is made of brass and is chrome plated. There are signs of use on this 4-1/8" x 4-5/8" topper that has no rust or extra holes.

United States Special Delivery Stamps

This lot is an assortment eighteen (18) different United States Special Delivery stamps. There is a mix of both used and unused stamps, with most being unused. We did notice that some of the stamps have been hinged. All of the stamps are loose and displayed as pictured.

Fisher-Price Pluto Pop-Up Kritter

Lot #17 (Sale Order 17 of 365)

Offered is a wooden toy from Fisher-Price. Five years after the first Pop-Up Kritters were released in 1931, Disney's Pluto was added to the line. Pluto is mounted on a green wooden guitar-shaped paddle with the control strings having metal loops on the end to allow easy maneuvering. Pluto is made of yellow and black bead-string construction with black oil cloth ears and a red collar. Pluto springs to life when the strings are pulled tightly, and he squirms and sways as the strings are loosened; he lays flat when the strings are loosened all the way. Pluto is 7" tall x 2-1/2" wide and sits on a 10-3/4" long paddle. The only sign of use is the black bead for his nose is missing. We used a rubber band to hold the strings tight, which is visible in some of the photos.

1969 Beaver Hall Grand Opening Handbill from Portland

The Beaver Hall was a small venue in Portland, Oregon where many famous bands played. Their entertainers ranged from Ken Kersey and his Merry Pranksters holding one of their famous acid tests to the Byrds and the Grateful Dead (along with many other bands of the day). This handbill was for the Beaver Hall's grand opening on February 21-22, 1969. We do not know the artist, but the performers were Thundering Heard, Moss, and Turtle Soup. The handbill measures approximately 5-1/2" wide x 8-1/2" tall. This piece is used with a fold across the center and a name and phone number written on the back. This lot is the first of several seldom found West Coast handbills and posters we will offer in this auction!

Pepsi Cola Double-Dot Bottle Openers

Offered is a pair of early Pepsi or Pepsi:Cola bottle openers. These are both die-cut openers in the shape of the 12-ounce Pepsi Bottle and are 2-13/16" tall x 7/8" wide. These have graphics or text on both sides with one showing a paper label bottle and the other showing the embossed painted label bottle. Both these use the double dot Pepsi logo used prior to 1950 and look great.

Salem Steam Laundry Match Holder from Oregon

This is a wall-mounted match holder for wooden matches given out compliments of Salem Steam Laundry in Salem, Oregon. The holder states the company was established in 1889 and lists a phone number as 25 making this a pretty early piece.We left it exactly as found as it has great character just the way it is. The size is approximately 6" tall x 3-1/8" wide x 3-1/2" deep with both opening covers intact. This holder has been used and has several flaws, such as rust, dents, dings, scratches, and such. Also, on the bottom front where the matches would come out, there is a bent right corner and the tabs holding this together are loose.

1972 Richard Nixon Discover America Poster

Offered is an original 1972 Nixon Discover America poster. The poster was made by Gemini Rising of New York and is poster number S253. Gemini Rising was known for their rock star and political spoof posters released in the late '60s and early '70s. Satire was taken a bit farther in this poster with the photo being identified as Richard M. Dixon. This poster is unused and was just unrolled to take these pictures. This piece is approximately 35-1/2" x 23-1/2" with some light bends from being rolled.

Five (5) Arrowheads from the Decker Site

This lot features five (5) arrowheads found at the Decker site on Sauvies Island in the Lower Columbia River Basin circa 1960. These are exactly as found and offer a great cross section of the material that is to be found nowhere else in the world. These range in size and are approximately 3/4" x 3/8" for the smallest to 1-1/2" x 1/2" for the largest. These arrowheads are from the Frank Buehler collection.

Armour's Oats Cardboard Container

This lot is for an old cardboard container for Armour's Oats from the Armour Grain Company of Chicago. This is the smaller size container and does not list a weight or size, but is 7-1/4" tall x 4-1/4" in diameter and has the original paper lid. The paper label on this does show wear and has a couple spots of paper loss and soiling. This container features the same logo and cute elf-like character on both sides with recipes on the sides as well. There is a clear plastic wrap on the outside to protect the label, and the wrap can be removed without damaging the container if you choose.

Champion Spark Plug Tie Clip and Cufflinks

Offered is a circa 1960 promotional three-piece Champion spark plug tie clip and cufflinks set. Each piece features a very detailed chromed miniature 7/8" Champion plug with a white insulator and "CHAMPION" and "Made In USA" written in red. The tiny details include the electrode, threads, cross-hatching on the base, etc.

Britains Set of Three (3) "The London Scene" Items

This lot consists of three (3) 1989 W Britains sets from the Pageantry, Heritage, Tradition series, and all three are in their original Living Display case. The first is an 11-piece set we believe to be number 8006. The other two items are 4-piece sets, also from the London Scene series, and we think their numbers are 8003 and 8004. All three sets include a standing lifeguard and sentry box. The London Scene series features all of the ceremonial figures associated with the capital. The centerpiece is a model of Her Majesty, the Queen, pictured in her traditional Guards uniform. She is flanked by models of the Household Cavalry, dressed in the old Mounted Review Order as worn for ceremonial duties in London. Also available are figures ranging from Beefeaters to Scots Guards plus a metal Sentry Box authentically reproducing those located outside of Buckingham Palace. All cases are in good condition considering their age, but shows signs of wear. All Britains figurines are hand painted, hollow cast metal, and made in England.

California Gold Souvenir Token Type Set

This lot is for a set of ten different California gold tokens or coins. They are all replicas of some of the different gold tokens and coins used in California from 1850 through 1900. These sets were sold to both tourists and collectors circa 1960. We had this set tested and they are gold plated and not made of gold like some sets were back in the day. The winning bidder will receive the tens coins and holder exactly as pictured.

Fiftieth Anniversary AAA License Plate Topper

This is the second of four different AAA Toppers we have in this auction. This one is a fiftieth anniversary award and is the only one that is gold in color. It is made of steel and has the original mounting bracket. This topper is 5-1/8" x 4-5/8" and looks as if it has never been used.

Summer of Love Memorabilia Lot

This lot features eight items that all could be associated with the summer of love era of the late sixties and early seventies. There are four paper items and four pin-back buttons. The paper items consist of a business card from Zig-Zag Bail Bonds, an empty rolling paper package from the Jefferson Airplane, a card announcing an Evening with Dr. Timothy Leary in Eugene, Oregon, and a used matchbook from the infamous Watergate Hotel (may be a stretch). The four pin-back buttons are: "Foy Brings Joy" from Foy rolling papers, "Legalize It" pin that is referring to marijuana, the iconic peace symbol, and a badge that just says "Funologist." The cards are all approximately 3-1/2" x 2" and the pin-backs are approximately 1" to 1-3/8" in size; only the Foy pin has its pin on the back. This is an interesting lot to say the least.

Two (2) Unused Dionne Quintuplets Calendars from 1937 and 1939

These two calendars are from Davidson's Bakery Products featuring the Dionne Quintuplets: Annette, Yvonne, Cecile, Marie, and Emilie. The first calendar is from 1937 and the second calendar is from 1939. Each calendar is approximately 8" x 11" in size, and both have full pads and are in excellent shape.

Austrian Steyr Mannlicher Bayonet with Scabbard

This bayonet is in very nice condition with grease still covering the blade. The bayonet was manufactured at the OEWG, which we cannot pronounce, but it is also known as the Austrian State Weapons Manufacturing Company. The blade is marked "OE WG" one one side with the other side having what looks to be an Imperial eagle. The bayonet comes complete with a steel scabbard that fits smoothly and tightly and shows most of the original blue finish. The handles are solid wood with dents and wear, and the cross guard has what appears to be a hand written symbol the number "2444." The overall size is approximately 14-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 1" and this item is exactly as received showing use and wear consistent with age.

5,000 Wheat Pennies

This lot is for 100 rolls or 5,000 Lincoln Wheat Cent pennies. The consignor has a note in the metal ammo case the coins were stored in that reads "40s & 50s - 5000 - 80% Mints." We looked at the rolls and most are dated with a specific year and mint mark with about 80% from either San Francisco or Denver. Also included is a plastic coin tube with five extra pennies that are better dates: 1909-P, 1909-P VDB, 1910-S, 1922-D, and 1926-S. The tube of five pennies, the 5,000 rolled pennies, and the metal ammo box are included in this lot. Shipping on this very heavy 35+ pound box will only be $20 by insured Priority Mail to anywhere in the United States.

Oracle & Helix Underground Newspapers

This lot is for a pair of underground newspapers. The first is a copy of the San Francisco Oracle Vol. 1, No. 7 from 1967. The Oracle was published from 1966 to 1968 in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood with Allen Cohen as the editor. The second paper is the Seattle Helix from July 1967. The Helix published a total of 125 issues from March 1967 until June 1970. Both of the papers have colored front and back covers with black and white psychedelic ads and such inside. The articles are interesting and so are the ads. Both papers have large display ads for the Grateful Dead, as well as other bands, concerts, and events. Both copies are stained with signs of wear consistent with age and use.

Albers Corn Flakes Billboard

This lot is for a promotional piece from Albers Milling Company from Portland, Oregon. It is double sided and shows their latest roadside billboard advertising for their Corn Flakes on one side and has information about different store displays, point of sale ads for newspapers, or other types of print advertising on the other side. We believe this to be from the 1940s during the war, for some of the advertising states that it is not rationed. This piece is 15" x 9-1/4" on heavy card stock folded as shown.

Offered is a neat old tin for Steins Nose Putty. As best we can tell this was theatrical or stage make-up used by clowns and actors. Inside is some dried hard flesh colored pieces of putty. The tin is 2-1/2" x 1-1/2" is used with rubs and scratches here and there circa 1940.

Ed Fitzpatrick Orchestra 1940 Poster from Jantzen Beach

Offered is an original poster from Jantzen Beach Amusement Park in Portland, Oregon. This poster was for the Ed Fitzpatrick Orchestra's three day engagement that took place December 13-15, 1940. The poster is printed on a very heavy card stock and is approximately 20-3/4" wide x 26-3/4" tall. Other than a small scuff near the bottom left corner, the condition is about as nice as you will find with no tack holes or tape.

Six (6) British Constabulary/Police Cap Badges

This is the first of several lots of British hat badges. This first lot consists of cap badges from six districts: Somerset Special Constabulary, Hampshire Constabulary, Hull City Police, Lancashire Constabulary, Derbyshire Constabulary, and Kent Constabulary. The Hampshire and Hull City badges have king crowns, and the Lancashire, Derbyshire, and Kent have queen crowns.

Roseville Pottery White Rose Vase

Offered is a Roseville double-handled white rose vase. This primarily green-colored vase has white flowers and a pinkish hue in a matte finish. The bottom is marked Roseville, USA and 979-6. The vase is approximately 6-1/4" tall x 6-1/2" wide and has no chips, cracks or repairs.

Pair of Black Americana Bisque Baby Dolls

This lot is for a pair of vintage Black Americana bisque baby dolls from the 1920s - 1930s. These dolls are marked "Japan" on their backs, and each has three little pigtails and a diaper held on by a safety pin. These adorable dolls are hand painted and have moveable arms and legs. These babies do show signs of age with a couple of chips and scratches.

Large Plateau Pentagonal Knife from the Wakemap Mound

Offered is a large Plateau pentagonal knife found at the Wakemap Mound site in Washington. It is approximately 2-3/4" long x 1-1/4" wide and is made of red jasper. This artifact or point was found by Frank Buehler, founding member of the Oregon Archaeological Society (OAS). His artifacts were found from the 1930s through the 1960s at OAS dig sites in the region. Buehler was a well-known and respected amateur archaeologist, historian, and collector, and all the artifacts from his collection we are offering have not been offered for public sale before.

Oregon AAA License Plate Topper

This is the fourth and perhaps best of different AAA Toppers we have in this auction. It is the only one with a porcelain emblem and a regular style license plate bracket. The tri-colored porcelain Oregon State Motor Association plaque is permanently attached to the mounting bracket and has never been used. This topper is 9-1/2" wide x 4-1/8" tall with the emblem being 4-1/2" x 3" in size.

Mork & Mindy 1979 Poster

Offered is an original 1979 Mork & Mindy poster. The first season of the television series was September 1978 to May 1979. This poster was most likely used to help promote the series during that first year when Robin Williams was an young, unknown actor. The poster features the A&W Family Restaurant logo bottom left and is dated 1979. We think this was a very limited release and is a great piece of television memorabilia. The poster features a great image of Mork and Mindy doing the "Na-No Na-No" greeting along with a hand gesture similar to Mr. Spock's Vulcan salute from Star Trek combined with a handshake. The poster is approximately 22-1/4" wide x 28-3/4" tall.

Upper 10 Bottle and Topper

This lot is for an Upper 10 bottle and topper. This seven-ounce bottle was filled by Nehi Bottling Company of San Jose, California and measures approximately 8" tall. The topper is in the image of a top hat, glove, and walking stick and measures approximately 6-1/2" wide x 4-1/2" tall. The combined set stands approximately 9-1/4" tall. Upper 10 is "A Swanky Drink for All Occasions."

Unused United States Stamps from 1922 - 1925

Buffalo, New York Sterling Souvenir Spoon with Indian

Here is the first sterling silver souvenir spoon we are offering in this auction. This spoon is from Buffalo, New York and features a Native American Indian holding a tomahawk and three ears of corn. This spoon is approximately 5" tall x 1-1/8" wide, weighs 13 grams of sterling silver, and is marked sterling on the back.

1967 Country Joe and the Fish Handbill from Portland

Offered is an original handbill for Country Joe and the Fish with the Warlocks and P.H. Phactor Jug Band. There were two shows on April 2, 1967 at The Pythian Hall in Portland, Oregon at (on at 8PM and one at 2AM). The handbill measures approximately 5-1/2" wide x 8-1/2" tall and is printed on white stock. This handbill is used with tack holes, creases, stains, tears, and other signs of use. Not one you see everyday!

Wizard of Oz Peanut Butter Pail

Offered is an advertising pail for Swift's Oz Peanut Butter. This is the smaller 2-pound 2-ounce size and is 5" tall x 4 1/4" diameter. The pail has great color and graphics with the Wizard of Oz characters around the outside. There is no rust and only minimal wear from use; both the lid and bail are original.

The Improved Order of Red Men Photo

Lot #50 (Sale Order 50 of 365)

We believe this to be a circa 1925 photo of The Improved Order of Red Men. The order itself claims direct descent from the Sons of Liberty, noting that the Sons participated in the Boston Tea Party dressed as Native Americans. Thus, they continue to dress as Native Americans and are organized into tribes and such. The consignor had no real information on this and said he has had it around for some time and thought it was a great image. Looking at the picture, the people in the photo are wearing beadwork and buckskin clothing with several holding musical instruments. We removed the backing and the picture is mounted to a chipboard-like material. The glass is curved and original to the frame. The frame is approximately 22-1/2" x 19-1/2" with the image being about 19-1/2" wide x 13-1/2" tall. The glass has some gold paint on it from somebody touching up the frame's inner rim.

This lot is for three (3) different magic tricks. The first trick is a 1970 "Milk Vanishing Pitcher" where a quart of milk is visibly poured into a paper cone or hat and instantly vanishes. This piece is nice and clean. The second trick is Adams' Cups and Balls, and the object of this trick is that three balls pass right through a solid cup, The third trick is is called "Show Me The Bunny" and comes with three cards, two with question marks and one with the bunny. During the trick, the bunny disappears off the card. All three tricks appear to never have been used and come complete with the instructions. We think this consignor's magic career was very short lived :)

This is the third of three wonderful circa 1920 full color tipped-in plates we will be offering in this auction. It is from perhaps the most beautiful children's book ever published, "East of the Sun and West of the Moon: Old Tales from the North. The artist is Kay Nielsen and the plate was used to illustrate the many Norse tales in the book. The plate was created in a preparatory ink and watercolor style and is still attached to the page. The image is approximately 5-1/4" x 7" with a 11" x 14" mat. This item is ready to drop into a ready-made frame.

This lot is for a set of five (5) Camel Joe plastic, handled Thermo-Serv mugs and the sign used to advertise them in convenient stores. One mug was free with the purchase of two packs of cigarettes. The set includes one of each of the five mugs pictured on the sign: the Pool Player, Boxing, the Hard Pack, the Card Players, and the Oasis. These mugs measure approximately 6-1/2" tall x 3-1/2" diameter at the top x 3" diameter at the bottom. All mugs have a copyright date of 1991, come with plastic lids, and are still sealed and have never been used. The advertising sign measures approximately 17-1/4" wide x 14" tall and is in great condition. These items came straight from the consignor who owned the convenient store.

Cosmo Theatre Vaudeville Style Poster

Offered is this great circa 1935 original poster for a traveling show of the Mississippi Show Boat Four. The show was held at the Cosmo Theatre in Merrill, Wisconsin. The art work was created by Ken Wagner, who worked for the company that printed the poster in Mason, Iowa. Ken Wagner went on to host several regional children's television shows, which featured him and some of his artwork and cartoon like drawings from 1949 until the early 1970s. This poster is used and has been nailed to a wall. In addition, there are stains, nail holes, paper loss, tears, and other flaws on this 14" x 22-1/8" poster. The top and bottom left corners have been torn and taped together on the back; we made no attempt to remove or repair the tape or corners.

Vintage Squirt Sign

This circa 1950 embossed Squirt sign reads, "Drink Squirt - It's Tart-Sweet" with the image being a flag attached to a flagpole. The sign measure approximately 20" wide x 13-1/2" tall and is unused. We seldom see a sign in this condition with the original shipping paper, so we thought we would let the new owner remove the paper. Even with the paper on most of the sign, the yellow, blue, and red colors jump out at you. Imagine how nice it will look when you display this vibrant sign for the first time.

"Thousand Faces" Tea Set

This lot is for a hand-painted "Thousand Faces" tea set made in Japan. The set includes a tea pot with lid, a lidded sugar bowl, and a creamer. We also have three saucers and a tea cup that is cracked. The tea pot is approximately 7" tall x 4-1/2" in diameter, the sugar is 5" tall x 4" wide, and the creamer is slightly smaller at 3-1/2" tall x 4" wide. Each of the plates are 5-1/2" in diameter.

Britains # 2065 H. M. Queen Elizabeth in Original Box

This piece is Britains Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, Colonel-in-Chief of the Grenadier Guards. She is mounted sidesaddle at the halt and saluting. This piece comes in its original box, and both are in excellent condition. This rare, pre-1966 Britains figurine is hand-painted, hollow cast lead, and it was made in England.

Paleo Spedis Columbia River Arrowhead

Both cans have their original keys attached to the lid and have bright sharp colors with great graphics and only minor flaws and wear.

Complete Set of 8 Sambo's Restaurant Postcards and Mailing Envelope

Up for auction is a complete set of 8 postcards from Sambo's Restaurant. Each card is numbered 1 through 8 and comes with the set's original mailing envelope. The cards are unused, very colorful, and in excellent condition. Sambo's is a restaurant, formerly a chain, started in 1957 by Sam Battistone, Sr and Newell Bohnett. Though the name was taken from portions of the names of its founders, the chain soon found itself associated with "The Story of Little Black Sambo." In the late '70s, controversy over the name drew protests and lawsuits in communities that viewed the name Sambo as derogatory towards African-Americans. By November 1981, the company filed for bankruptcy. The original Sambo's in Santa Barbara continues to operate still using the Sambo's name.

Wrigley's Wall-Mounted Gum Machine

Offered is this circa 1930 Wrigley's 5-stick gum vending machine. This machine is 100% original from the paint and decal on the face to the paper instruction sheet on the inside. This machine dispensed packages of gum for just 5 cents; these packs of gum have five individually wrapped sticks of gum. This machine is made from heavy gage steel with a back plate that mounts to a wall or pole for use. The paper instruction sheet has all the mounting instructions as well as information on how to fill and use the machine. The machine is 28" x 4" x 4-1/2" and comes complete with key and is ready to use or display. The great thing about this machine is the packs of gum available for sale. This is as nice as they come!

The Beatles Magical Mystry Tour Handbill from Portland

Offered is and original, used handbill for a showing of the Beatles film Magical Mystry Tour. The movie was being shown at Beaver Hall in Portland, Oregon beginning May 22, 1969. The handbill was designed by Alton Kelley and the design was printed only as a handbill. This item measures approximately 10-1/4" wide x 7-7/8" tall. This piece has been used and has tack holes to the corners with folds and damage to the bottom right corner as well. This is a nice original piece of history!

Offered are two vintage rhinestone pins or broaches. The first pin is a sterling silver bow tie; it is rather heavy for its size at 9.3 grams and is marked "Sterling." It is 2-3/4" long x 3/8" tall and features a black pinstripe boarder with small stones in the center. The second piece is an unmarked pin and the center pieces can be removed from and clipped to something else making this being two two different pieces of jewelry. It is 2" x 3/4" with each half being 1" long x 3/4" tall; we did notice one stone missing.

Columbia River Arrowhead

The arrowhead is 7/8" x 11/16" and is made from a piece of brown jasper and clear agate. This location is an artifact site where the Oregon Archaeological Society members were known to have worked.

Coon Chicken Inn Small Menu

This lot is for an original small Coon Chicken Inn menu. This menu is approximately 3-1/4" wide x 4-1/4" tall and lists locations in Seattle, Portland, and Salt Lake City. This item is in good condition with only minor paper loss on the back. We are selling items that are in the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia that uses objects of intolerance to teach tolerance and promote social justice. The Coon Chicken Inn left behind artifacts, popularly called Black Memorabilia, that serve as reminders that this particular part of history must never, and will never be repeated. The first Chicken Inn was opened in 1925 in Sugar House, a Salt Lake City suburb. The Washington state Chicken Inn opened in late 1929 in Lake City with a Portland restaurant opening in 1930. The Chicken Inns ran until the late 1950s when the owners decided to keep the properties and lease out the buildings to other restaurant operators. There is no evidence as to whether the owner closed the Chicken Inns due to protests, due to the combination of the Fair Employment Practices law that passed in 1949, or due to the racial restrictive covenants that were declared no longer enforceable in 1948 by the US Supreme Court. The Chicken Inn is one of the most coped brands. After checking 8-10 items listed on eBay, most are complete fantasy items or brand new. There were only three restaurants, and one was one in Portland, and this Portland consignor guarantees the item is authentic.

Roseville Donatello Footed Pedestal Bowl

Offered is an early Roseville Donatello pedestal bowl or vase. This item is decorated with two cherubs in two different scenes with each scene being repeated three times atop a vertically striped pedestal base. This piece is a creamy white and green with terra cotta touches and is approximately 6" tall x 8" wide x 5" at the base. This bowl/vase is unmarked but guaranteed to be vintage Roseville. There is crazing in the glaze with no chips, cracks, or repairs.

Necco Mints Counter Display

This tin-litho display was usually placed near the cash register at restaurants for impulse purchases of after dinner mints. The display was made by Richard A. Kline, Inc. in Norwood, Massachusetts. This display measures 5-1/2" wide x 6" tall x 5" deep at the bottom, is bright green in color, and is in great shape.

1794 US Liberty Cap Large Cent - Low Grade

Here is one of the first coins issued in the United States. It is a 1794 Liberty Cap large cent and is one of the few U S coins that has a letter edge; the writing is still intact and readable. This coin has condition issues, yet it will be a nice filler coin until a better one comes along. Due to the composition and age of the coins, the metal has become dark. Because of this, the photos were enhanced to show both detail and give an accurate description.

Three Different Sets of Unused Deco Pin-Up "Glitter Glamour Girls" Decals

1950 Roy Acuff Poster from Oxnard, California

This original boxing style poster features Roy Acuff and his Smokey Mountain Boys "direct from the Grand Ole Opry." This poster was for an appearance at the Crows Nest in Oxnard, California billed as the "Hillbilly Heaven, Home of the Western Stars." The Crows Nest was built inside a WW 2 Quonset hut, and next to the club was the Oxnard Airport where the military held some trainings. The performance was on Tuesday, September 26, 1950 and also featured Larry Thornton and his band. The poster measures approximately 14" wide x 22-1/4" tall and has a few scuffs and corner bumps with no tape or pinholes.

Carpenter or Machinist Tools

This lot includes vintage carpenter or machining tools, a lathe operation manual, and the box to carrying everything. The Craftsman manual is the 1971 twenty-sixth edition of the "Manual of Lathe Operation and Machinists Tables" and has an embossed corporate seal of Wallowa Lake Lodge, Inc. of Joseph, Oregon. We are not sure what all the tools are, but believe them to be: a 6" wood and metal carpenters square; a smaller caliper from the Union Tool Company that is approximately 7-3/4" with a 2-1/2 screw; a larger caliper that is approximately 9-1/2" with a 4" screw; a wooden brush with wire bristles on one side and coarse bristles on the other; a wood and steel monkey wrench from Bemis & Call H & T Company; a Goodell-Pratt Company protractor/level/combination square; a wood chisel; a wrench, and 3 plier-like specialty tools. All items are straight from an estate and have not been cleaned.

Four (4) Pocket Knives

Offered are four (4) pocket knives. The first knife has sterling silver sides with a knife blade, toothpick, and scissors. The size of this knife is 2-3/4" x 5/8" when the blade is closed. The second knife features inlay work on both sides, has the blade marked "Toledo - Inox Spain," and is 3-1/8" x 11/16" when the blade is closed. The third knife has a corkscrew and two blades with one blade is marked "Rostfrei." This knife is 3-1/4" x 3/4" when the blade is closed. The last knife is a multi-blade 8-in-1 pocket knife. This last knife is 2-1/8" x 5/8" when the blades are closed with one blade marked "Hess." All four knives have seen little or no use.

Four (4) 1954 Berkeley Balsa Wood Unbuilt Model Car Kits

This lot consists of four (4) 1/2" scale Berkeley balsa wood model car kits from 1954 that are unbuilt. The kits were made by Berkeley Models, Inc. of West Hampstead, New York and include: a Packard Caribbean, a Ford X-100 sports car, a General Motors Le Sabre, and a Chrysler D-Elegance. The car bodies are made of carved balsa wood and measure approximately 7-1/2" to 8" long. All model kits appear to be complete, and the boxes are in great shape with just some fading due to age. There are three lots of model kits in this auction that were the contents of an old hobby shop from which the consignor bought the inventory. These vintage cars would be great for the model car enthusiasts.

The American Indian wears a feather war bonnet, is carrying a rifle, and is riding a white horse. All figures show paint loss due to use and age, and the standing cowboy figure has lead rot. All Britains figurines are hand painted, hollow cast metal, and made in England.

1970 Buffalo Party Convention and Pig Roast Handbill

In the summer of 1970, Eatonville, Washington (just outside of Seattle) was gearing up for the 1st Annual Buffalo Party Convention and Pig Roast at Buffalo Don Murphy's Flying M Ranch. The event was supposedly a political gathering, but everyone knew it was really a rock festival. Performers and bands advertised on the flyer include: Van Morrison, Chuck Berry, James Cotton, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Canned Heat, and many more. No one really knows for certain who played that weekend, but the party went off without any problem once the local enforcement agencies backed off. The size of this handbill is approximately 8-1/2" x 11" with nicks and tears to the edges, as well as some tack holes to the corners.

Sunkist Orange Juice Trolley Sign

We believe this sign is circa 1920s by the style of the printing (just our opinion). It is advertising that was displayed on the old trolley cars; they would line the length of the trolley cars with these signs. This concept must have been a success for this type of advertising is still used today. The sign measures approximately 21" x 11" and looks great.

Five (5) Lower Columbia River Arrowheads

These five (5) arrowheads were found at the Decker site on the Lower Columbia River circa 1960 by Frank Buehler. The smallest arrowhead is approximately 5/8" x 3/8" and the largest is approximately 3/4" x 3/8" in size. The Decker site is another well-known artifact site where the Oregon Archaeological Society members worked over the years.

Nesbitt's Satin-Glass Syrup Dispenser

If you only want one of this style of syrup dispenser - here it is! We have seen this piece in the past, but never with the decals so perfect having no flaws on the front decal and only a small piece missing on the bottom of the back decal. The base is approximately 7" tall x 10" in diameter; and with the jug, the dispenser is approximately 18" tall. In addition, the dispenser has the original gasket and no chips, cracks, etc. This is as nice as they come!

Roseville Pottery Cherry Blossom Handle Vase

1952 Paris, France Artist Benefit Handbill

Offered is a handbill or flyer for a benefit held in the Montparnasse area of Paris, France. This event was to help the local-area artist community in 1952. This is an approximately 8-1/4" x 10-3/4" double-sided, artist-designed handbill. The artwork is signed "Tauzin" and may be from the French artist Mario Tauzin, who was well known for his erotic artwork in France. This is printed on thin paper and has been folded; the paper is showing signs of aging with both sides being slightly different in color.

Lindstrom's "Little Miss" Sewing Machine

This "Little Miss" sewing machine was made in Germany and distributed by Lindstrom Tool & Toy Company of Bridgeport, Connecticut. The machine runs very, very smoothly, and all parts seem to do what they should. The gold stenciling is in great shape making the whole piece very attractive. Vintage Fishing Pole and Lures

This lot features a vintage four-piece steel fishing pole made by the Horton Manufacturing Company of Bristol, Connecticut. The handle has a removable bottom cap with a small chamber inside and is approximately 14" in length. Two of the other three sections are approximately 24" long, and the smallest section is only 22-3/4" as the tip has been shortened and replaced. The total length of the pole assembled is 78" or 6-1/2' long. With this pole are 21 pieces of fishing tackle. There are 4 small floats/bobbers along with 17 plugs or lures. We do not know the age of these and most are made of wood with a couple being made of plastic. You will get everything pictured with your winning bid!

Four (4) Pairs of Mini Bottle Salt and Pepper Shakers

This lot is for three (3) original newspaper front pages preserved from the World War II era. The newspapers and headlines are: The Seattle Post - Intelligencer, December 27, 1941, "JAPS BOMB MANILA! Raid on Open City Kills Many"; New York's The Daily News, February 16, 1942, "JAPS TAKE SINAPORE: Churchill Confirms British Surrender of Base"; and The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, June 6, 1944, "ALLIES LAND IN FRANCE: Penetrate Deep Behind Nazi Lines." The yellowing of the paper is due to them being authentic and from the 1940s.

Hammered Brass Arts and Crafts Vase ~ Trench Art-Style

Offered is a brass vase that is unmarked and the age unknown. The estate called it a "Trench Art casing from a 12mm/5-inch ship gun casing." Although it looks like a shell, it does not have any primer or maker marks and looks as if it may have been part of a shell. It has a nice tarnish and patina inside and out and is approximately 7-1/2" tall x 5" in diameter. This has a hammered design with a shield-like area added on the outside that is smooth and free of any design. Shirley Temple Wheaties Milk Pitcher and Juice Glass

This lot is for two Shirley Temple premiums from the 1930s. The first item is a glass pitcher, and the second item is a juice glass. These were on display at the grocer's counter with the slogan, "Free! Shirley Temple Wheaties Pitcher (or Juice Glass) For Your Breakfast Table!" The customer could receive either one with the purchase of Wheaties cereal. The pitcher measures approximately 4-1/2" tall x 4-1/2" from the handle to the spout and 2-3/8" diameter at the base. The juice glass measures approximately 3-3/4" tall x 2-5/8" diameter at the top and 2" diameter at the base. These items are cobalt blue, guaranteed to be authentic, and would make a great addition to either your Shirley Temple or Wheaties collection!

Cheyenne, Wyoming Stage Coach Sterling Souvenir Spoon

This lot is for a sterling spoon featuring the state capitol building in Cheyenne, Wyoming. In addition to the capitol, this spoon illustrates horses pulling a stage coach and the words, "THE WILD WEST." The back of the handle has the image of a cowboy lassoing four steers. This spoon is approximately 5-1/16" tall x 1-1/8" wide, weighs 19 grams of sterling silver, and is marked sterling on the back.

Family Dog on The Great Hiway Handbill

This is a very simple 8-1/2" x 14" handbill or telephone pole poster. This advertises an event at the Family Dog on The Great Hiway held on June 25th. This is where the Family Dog moved their concert and events after leaving the famed Avalon Ballroom. The venue was the former Edgewater Ballroom, part of the "Playland at The Beach" complex in San Francisco. The Family Dog was only at this location a couple years, and we could find no reference to this event in their history.

Four (4) London Metropolitan Police Hat Badges

The helmet badges include both a black badge and a chrome badge, and both have Queen Elizabeth II's cypher. One of the smaller cap badges also has the EIIR cypher The second cap badge has a king's crown, states, Metropolitan Special Constabulary, and has a makers mark of, "Wm. Dowler & Sons Ltd. Birmingham."

NuGrape Soda Display with Toy Planes

This lot is for a vintage store display from NuGrape Soda. It shows a young boy playing with a toy airplane and announces that you can get a "Free Airplane with the Purchase of NuGrape." The airplane is a balsa wood glider with advertising for NuGrape. These toys come in their original packaging and have a paper hanger that slid around the neck of a soda bottle. These soda bottleswere in a larger store display with more soda, toys, and the cardboard sign advertising this great free toy. The sign is 17" x 21-3/4" and comes with four (4) of the toy planes. We took one toy out of the package to take pictures, otherwise the toys are unused and complete in their original package.

Knife from the Wakemap Mound Site

Coon Chicken Inn Glass

Do you want a GENUINE, authentic Coon Chicken Inn glass? Then look at this lot of two different glasses; we are selling the real one, used in restaurants years ago, that is on the right; the reproduction is on the left (used only in the photos, not for sale in the auction). The reproductions were made about 20 years ago in Mexico; a Portland and California dealer had cases of them made. The genuine article is approximately 2-1/2" diameter x 4-1/4" tall and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There were only three restaurants, and one was one in Portland, and this Portland consignor guarantees the item is authentic. Please see lot #73 for a description of the Coon Chicken Inn's history.

Roseville Pottery Pine Cone Brown Cornucopia Pot

Offered is a Roseville Pine Cone brown cornucopia pot. The size is approximately 5" tall x 6" across at the widest point sitting on a 4-5/8" base. This piece has markings on the bottom read "Roseville 124 6" and it has no cracks or repairs. This pot has been used with stains on the inside and two small fleabite or chips on the outer rim; these are very small and need to be noted as they may not show up in the pictures.

Britains #1661 Mounted Knight of Agincourt with Lance (Charging)

This knight has his lance leveled for the charge and an open visor on his helmet. This is the red-and-yellow colored variation on a brown horse, and this knight was part of Britains Knights of Agincourt series. There is a little play wear and minor paint loss, but overall it is in nice condition. His tournament lance is undamaged and the horse is in good shape. All Britains figurines are hand painted, hollow cast metal, and made in England.

Marquette Club Ginger Ale Die-Cut Sign With Glass Eyes

This unusual sign was made in Germany for Kewaunee Bottling Works of Kewaunee, Wisconsin. What makes this sign different is that it has glass eyes. This sign is made from high gloss stock and has no bends or creases. It is approximately 8" wide x 11" tall ... A real beauty!

Sons of Champlin and Portland Zoo Handbill

Offered is a colorful handbill printed on card stock. This was for a concert on July 4, 1969 at the Springers Ballroom. The performers were Sons of Champlin, Portland Zoo, and Total Eclipse. The artwork is by Jim Blashfield and is marked as such along the left side. This handbill is approximately 3-13/16" wide x 6-3/8" tall and has a tack hole top center and strong bleed to the backside, which is normal for this card/handbill.

Remington Handy Oiler

Offered is an old lead-spout handy oil can for Rem Oil from Remington Arms Company of Bridgeport, Connecticut. This can has great graphics with a cartoon-like man using oil on several items illustrated around the can's center. This tin is 5" tall to top of spout x 2-1/4" wide x 1-1/4" deep. This is a neat old can that is still half full of oil; it leaks a bit around the spout and has a few dings from use.

1883 No Cent Liberty V Nickel

Offered is the nicest 1883 Liberty "V" nickel we have offered. Like all our coins, it is straight from the consignor and is ungraded. 1883 was the first year the liberty nickel was minted, and this is the first variation. This nickel is often referred to as the racketeer's nickel, as the word "CENTS" does not appear on the coin. These were often gold plated and passed off as five dollar gold pieces to the unsuspecting shop keepers. This one still has the original mint luster on both sides with no distracting marks.

Smaller Cobalt Jeweler's Alcohol Lamp

This alcohol lamp is a beautiful deep cobalt blue with embossed patent dates of September 14, 1880 and March 14, 1893. This complete lamp is approximately 2-1/4" diameter x 5-1/2" tall and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, etc. Lot 327 is a larger jeweler's alcohol lamp.

Klickitat Dagger Arrowhead

This lot is for a nice Klickitat dagger that was found at the Five Mile Camp Site (also called Five Miles Rapids or Locks) on the Columbia River. This location is a well-known site that produced many artifacts before The Dalles Dam was built. The arrowhead is 1-1/16" x 3/8" and was found by Frank Buehler, who was a well-known and respected amateur archaeologist, historian, and collector.

Golden Glow Beer Foam Scraper

Here is a vintage beer foam scraper for Golden Glow Beer from Oakland, California. This was produced by the Golden West Brewing Company and was Oakland's "longest running and largest brewery. The brewery operated under various owner and names from 1856 until 1959. This foam scraper is approximately 8-7/8" x 1-1/8" and is used with signs of wear, such as scratches and fading to the text.

Dill's Best Tobacco Curved Pocket Tin

This is a "curved" tobacco pocket tin circa 1920 for Dills Best Rubbed smoking tobacco. This was made by J.G. Dill Company of Richmond, Virginia. This is an all-lithographed tin that is approximately 4-1/2" tall x 3" wide x 1" deep. The bottom is embossed and includes a spot to strike your wooden matches. It has minimal signs of use or wear and looks as if the tin has always been indoors.

Hood's Sarsaparilla 1889 Framed Calendar

This calendar has a never-been-used, full pad from 1889. This piece is a great example of the many die-cut calendars Hood's produced over the years. There is a non-detracting crease at the top right on the hat. The calendar measures approximately 5-1/2" wide x 10" tall and framed 7-1/2" wide x 11 3/4" tall.

Pair of Morgan Silver Dollars from San Francisco Mint

Baker City, Oregon Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoon

This is an Oregon spoon featuring the City Hall building of Baker City with the bowl of the spoon having a light gold wash. The handle features a Native American Indian, a baby in a papoose, and feathers. The back of the handle has the image of a Native American shooting an arrow into the sky. This spoon is approximately 5-1/8" tall x 1-1/8" wide, weighs 16 grams of sterling silver, and is marked sterling on the back.

Ray Price 1955 Boxing-Style Poster

Offered is an original boxing-style concert poster for Ray Price and the Cherokee Cowboys (of Grand Ole Opry fame) for a concert and dance at the Division Street Corral in Portland, Oregon. This event was held on Friday April 1, 1955. This unused poster is approximately 14" x 22-5/8" and is in great shape with no tack holes or tape, but just a couple of corner bumps and some slight yellowing around the edges. You will not find s nicer poster!

Tiger Chewing Tobacco Blue Lunch-Box Tin

Offered is a vintage lunch-box style tobacco tin for Tiger Dark Sweet Chewing Tobacco from P. Lorillard Company in the harder-to-find blue variation. The tin has great graphics with an image of a tiger's face on all four sides and an image of their small individual pack of tobacco on the lid. The tin is 10" x 7-1/4" x 5-1/4" and is exactly as received with some flaws such as dents, dings, and wear consistent with age and use.

.66 Carat 14k Gold Solitaire Stud Earrings

Offered is a pair of 14k yellow gold, .66 total carat weight diamond earrings. These are fresh from a local estate and are in excellent pre-owned condition. They are stamped 14k on the posts and come with push on backs. Each earring is .33 carats for a total carat weight (TCW) of .66 for the pair. The diamonds are bright and have a bit of a sparkle. Pre-owned estate items have been used and therefore, may show some signs of wear.

Mickey Mouse Magazine Vol. 3 No. 10 from July 1938

This lot is for the Mickey Mouse Magazine #34. This comic by K.K. Publications is approximately 8-1/4" x 11-1/2" and has 36 pages. This comic has great Disney content throughout, including stories, jokes, puzzles, and ads for classic merchandise. The front cover has a great image of Goofy, and the back cover has an ad for Pepsodent tooth paste so you can "have teeth as clean as Snow White's." The crossword puzzle has been completed, and some of the inside illustrations have been nicely colored by the original owner. This comic has slight aging and remains very vibrant.

Multi-Colored John Day River Arrowhead

Duck Soup Dance Handbill

Offered is a 1971 handbill from Portland, Oregon. It is for Steve Bradley's Firemen for a dance called the Duck Soup Dance. It was being held at 425 NW Glisan, which was the same address as the Beaver hall. It does mention Fellini's Satyricon in the top right corner, which did not become a club until 1983 (by what we could find). The art work on this 8-1/2" x 11" handbill is signed below the broom on one of the cans by Leo. This piece is used with folds, creases, and stains; however, it does display very well!

Jic-Jac Soda Celluloid Button Sign

This unused 9" sign was made by the Philadelphia Badge Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA for the Jic-Jac Soda Company. There is a small mark on the "C" in Jac, which seems to be under the celluloid and is the only thing that stops this sign from being mint. This is a non-distracting and mentioned only for accuracy.

Vintage Sword

This sword features a double-sided steel blade with a bronze handle. The design is simple and classic. It could be considered the design of any number of medieval civilizations English, Roman, Norse, Greek, etc. The size is approximately 25-1/4" long x 4-1/2" x 1" with a weight of 1 pound 11 ounces. The handle is embossed on both sides with the same image of an early soldiers uniform. This has been around awhile, and the handle is turning green in spots with plenty of overall wear to both the handle and blade. We think this may have been a stage or theater prop.

"Old MacDonald Had a Barn" Punch-Out Book

You would not believe that this book is over 50 years old; it looks absolutely brand new. It consists of 6 pages of cut-outs (printed on both sides) of animals that would be found on Old MacDonald's farm. The legs are also punched out and attached to the body so they will stand on their own. A gate and wagon are also included. There is a crease on the back but it does not distract. The book measures approximately 8-1/2" wide x 10 1/8" tall.

South Texas State Fair Poster

Offered is colorful vintage poster from 1968 for Beaumont, Texas's 25th anniversary of the South Texas State Fair. The poster advertises the dates of the fair as October 14-23 along with the Midway carnival rides and Miss Teen-Age America pageant. The poster looks to be unused and has yellowed along the edges from age. The size is approximately 14" x 22" with no tack holes or tape.

Edison Mazda Trolley Sign

We have not seen many trolley signs for Edison Mazda Lamps, let alone one from a drug store in Forney, Texas . The sign features an "old" man reading in bed with the aid of an electric light. This piece measures approximately 21" x 11" in size. There is some minor discoloration along part of the top that is not noticeable from a distance; we only noticed it when writing the description.

Roseville Pottery Donatello Wall Pocket

These are all from the collection of Frank Buehler, founding member of the Oregon Archaeological Society (OAS).

This lot is for Seraphim Classics Angels Touch "The Dedication Angel" figurine #78122 by Roman, Inc. This angel figurine from 1997 measures approximately 7-1/4" tall x 4-1/2" at its widest point x 6" at its deepest point. This angel was kept in a closed display case and was placed back in her original box when brought in by the consignor. This piece has the original box, styrofoam packaging, certificate of authenticity, and is free of chips, cracks, or repairs. The box does have some tears in the corners.

Great Falls Factory Scene Copper Beer Tray

Offered is a 1930s vintage Great Falls Bohemian Style Lager Beer tray. The tray is made of copper and is marked, "Made of Anaconda Copper" below the image of the Great Falls Beer label in the center of the tray. The image is almost identical to the paper label used on their beer bottle during the 1930s (pictured only for reference). In addition, the tray features two different views of the Great Falls Brewery with a banner in the center advertising their beer. We have shown a picture of one of their beer labels to give you a better idea of what the embossed image looks like, as it is very hard to take a good picture of the image on the tray. The label is not included; the picture of the label is solely for reference. The beer tray is approximately 11-1/8" in diameter x 1-1/4" deep. The image in the center of the tray is approximately 5" x 3" in size. The tray is used with signs of wear consistent with age and use.

1875 Writing or Lap Desk

Offered is a circa 1875 writing or lap desk from a California estate. Inside the box is a purple writing surface made of rosewood with black trim, and there is a storage compartment behind either side of the writing surface. In addition, there is a storage area with a removable 11-1/2" wooden straight edge and four additional storage compartments (two hold original ink bottles and lids, one is empty, and one has a removable tray with a place for pens, etc. The outside is made of mahogany with two silver inlays, one on the lid and one around the key hole. This 13" x 9-1/4" x 5" desk is exactly as received and includes some old envelopes and delivery tags. This item has not been cleaned or repaired and includes the original key and a wood chip missing from one of the writing surface's black edges.

1802 and 1807 Draped Bust U.S. Large Cents

This lot is for both an 1802 and an 1807 Draped Bust United States large cent. The 1802 cent has the normal reverse, while the 1807 cent is the large fraction variation. As with all of our coins, these are ungraded and straight from the consignor to the bidder. We have not attempted to grade or clean these coins, and they are being sold as received. Due to the composition and age of the coins, the metal has become dark. Because of this, the photos were enhanced to show both detail and give an accurate description.

This location is another well-known artifact site near the town of Warren, Oregon where the Oregon Archaeological Society members worked.

1930s Marx G Man Machine Gun

Offered is a 1930s Marx tin litho G Man machine gun with a wooden stock. The small black part that joins the frame to the stock is pressed steel. This gun's strong clockwork motor winds-up using the attached key. A continuous RAT-TAT-TAT "machine-gun" sound is made when the trigger is pulled. The sides show G-Men with guns raised while the bullet chamber shows G-Man firing the gun in air. The gun is approximately 23" long x 5" x 6" and is in played-with condition showing wear, crazing, scratches, and rust. The front sight, which also held the flint to make the gun spark, is missing.

Serrated Stemmed Point from the Obie Site

Howard Chandler Christy "Americans All" Poster

This poster depicts a lovely Christy girl with a great multi-cultural theme. The image features a lady standing in front of an American flag holding a wreath above the "Honor Roll," which is a list consisting of different ethnic names. Christy, who died in 1952, was an American artist and illustrator famous for the "Christy Girl," which was similar to the "'Gibson Girl." This poster measures approximately 27" x 40" and is one of the more desirable, but very under-rated, among the Christy posters. There are a couple of splits in the upper edge, but they have been matted out. This is truly an impressive piece.

Scotch-King Snuff Pocket Mirror

Offered is a circa 1910 celluloid pocket mirror advertising Scotch-King Snuff from the Weyman-Bruton Company of Nashville, Tennessee. This mirror has a nice color image of a snuff jar along with their logo, "The New King Snuff" written below the jar. Along the bottom edge is the maker's name, "Pilgrim Spec. Co., Malden, Mass." The mirror measures approximately 2-3/4" tall x 1-3/4" wide, and other than usual silver loss and spots to the mirror, this is as nice as they come.

"Big Giant Cola" Die-Cut Sign

This lot is an assortment of nineteen (19) different United States postage stamps from 1917 through 1919. The stamps are Scott's Numbers 498 through 518, and all of the stamps except one are unused, loose, and displayed as pictured. The denominations are one cent through one dollar. The stamps still have their glue on back and have been hinged. Only stamp #500, the second red 2-cent stamp, is used and has no glue on back.

Joe Camel Pool Table Ashtray and 8 Ball Lighter

This lot consists of two Joe Camel items. The first item is a 1993 Camel 8 Ball lighter set. The set includes a chrome Zippo lighter, a tin, and an ashtray. The lighter measures approximately 1-3/8" wide x 2-1/4" tall x ½" deep. The lighter does have a flint, has never been used, and appears to have never had lighter fluid in it. The tin measures approximately 2" tall x 4-1/2" diameter. The third item in this set is an ashtray that measures approximately ½" tall x 4" diameter and has three slots to hold cigarettes. The second item is 1992 Camel Lights pool table ashtray. It has six slots for holding cigarettes where the six pockets on a pool table are. The pool table ashtray measures approximately 7-3/8" long x 4-3/8" wide x 1-1/2" deep and is made of hard plastic/resin. It is brand new, never used, and no longer available. Both these items come in their original boxes. These items came straight from the consignor who owned the convenient store.

Palace Meat Market Handbill

Offered is this great looking handbill for the Palace Meat Market. This was a two day event held on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14, 1969 at the Beaver Hall in Portland, Oregon. The Palace Meat Market was a major part of the early Eugene music scene and played at many anti-war benefits in the area. In addition, they opened for three Grateful Dead shows. This handbill measures approximately 8-1/2" x11" and is used with tack holes, stains, folds, creases, and wrinkles. Matted and framed, this handbill will look great!

Vintage Mandrake the Magician Game

This vintage Mandrake the Magician game was made by the Transogram Company, Inc. of New York and was intended for children ages 7 to 12 years old. The idea of the game was that each player is Mandrake and with his x-ray vision, try to be the first to capture three identical bothers by penetrating their disappearing act. The game's box is approximately 15" long x 8" wide x 2" deep. This game is near mint and has never been play with and the pieces have not been punched out.

Roseville Pottery Magnolia Conch Shell

Offered is this Roseville Pottery conch shell. This circa 1940 multi-colored piece features Magnolia Blossoms on black stems. The vase has markings on the bottom in relief-raised lettering that reads "Roseville, U.S.A., 453-6" and is approximately 4-3/4" tall x 6-1/4" wide. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs, just some wear consistent with age and use to the bottom.

This is a vintage porcelain (enamel) Bell System telephone sign. This sign is dark blue with a glossy finish, and the back is marked 26. The sign measures approximately 20" wide x 3-3/4" tall. There is very little to no rust on this sign, and all grommets are intact. There is a dent in right upper hand corner, so please see photos for the best description. This would look great over a pay phone or booth and would be a nice addition to your antique telephone collection.

Sterling Silver 64-Piecec Mini-Ingot Flag Collection

This lot is for "The Flags of the Revolution" Mini Ingot Collection made by the Franklin Mint in 1976 and features 64 different ingots of slightly different sizes to correspond to the original proportions of each flag. These solid sterling silver ingots are genuine replicas of the actual flags carried by 1776 patriots during the American Revolutionary War. Each ingot's front is etched with an exact replica of one of the 64 flags, while the backs are etched with the name of the flag, the word "sterling," the minting date "76," and the mint mark "FM" for the Franklin Mint. The set is complete and comes in the original red velvet-lined, walnut 12" x 5 1/2" x 2" case that has a hinged lid and a see-through display cover.

The "Pop-Up" Pinocchio Book 1932 First Edition

This 1932 first-edition, first-printing book is of the classic story of the wooden puppet who finally became a real boy. This book has four (4) working pop-ups illustration by Harold Lentz. The 96-page book was published by Blue Ribbon Books and has a full-color illustration of Pinocchio on front cover, with Pinocchio and the fairy on the back cover. This book is approximately 6-1/2 wide x 9" tall. The book's spine is loose, and does not have the dust jacket. This book is well worth having rebound, especially since it is a first edition.

Welcome Nugget Gold Prospector Label

Offered is an absolutely brilliant circa 1880 full color chromolitho tobacco label. It reads "WELCOME NUGGET" at the top and "T.C. WILLIAMS CO., MANUFACTURERS, VIRGINIA U.S.A." on the bottom. Shown is a full length figure of a knee-booted miner carrying a pickaxe in one hand and proudly holding a huge nugget in the other as he proclaims, "Jack, look at this." In the background are miners and buildings with an inscription on the large rock on the right side telling about the nugget. The colors on this multi-colored litho are as nice as the day it was made. This label is 10-3/4" x 10-3/4" and has no flaws or damaged.

1935 International Roller-Skating Marathon Poster

This lot is for an original 1935 poster for a roller-skating marathon event held at the Imperial Skating Rink in Portland, Oregon. This looks to be similar to the old marathon dance contests held around the country in this same time period, and with a prize of $1000 to the winner, these events really drew the people to them. This poster is used and was nailed to a wall. There are stains, nail holes, paper loss and other flaws on this that measures approximately 14" wide x 21-3/4" tall.

Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer Mirror

Gold VW Bus Soundwagon Record Player

Offered is an original gold Volkswagen (VW) Bus Soundwagon record player. This was produced by Tamco of Japan and comes complete in its original box and packaging. When placed on a record, the VW Bus drives around the record picking up the sound with a needle stylus that is beneath the van and plays the music out of the speaker on top. The antenna on the side serves as the on/off switch, and the black hatch on back lifts to reveal the battery compartment. This uses a 9-volt battery, and the battery compartment is pristine and looks as if a battery was never kept in there. The Soundwagon is approximately is 4-3/4" long x 2-1/2" tall x 2-1/4" wide and has no cracks -- not even a scratch to detract from its like new shiny appearance.

11-Ounce Rainier Jubilee Flat Top Beer Can

This is the first of three different Rainier jubilee beer cans that we will be offering in this auction. This is an 11-ounce can from Sicks' Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington and has the winter snow flake design created by Walter Landor & Associates. The can was rolled by Chuck Foster years ago and has a nicely soldered seam and one small pin hole in the bottom lid. The can is bright orange with a contrasting gold metallic. This can looks great. The only flaws we could find were two humidity spots about one inch from the top left side next to the seam on back. Please check lots #321 & #353 for our 12-ounce Rainier jubilee cans.

Carmel Agate Columbia River Arrowhead

Gerrit A. Beneker WWI "Sure We'll Finish the Job" Poster

This very colorful WWI classic poster is one of the most widely known posters of that era and truly is a delightful image. The poster is dated 1918 and measures approximately 26" wide x 38" tall. Gerrit Albertus Beneker, who died in 1934, was an American painter and illustrator best known for his paintings of industrial scenes and his poster work. The poster is marked "Edwards & Deutsch Litho Co. Chicago" on the bottom. Overall, it is in excellent condition.

Iwo Jima WWII Souvenir

Offered is an island-shaped plaque in heavy relief that features a far-off Pacific island called Iwo Jima. The bump was a place called Mount Suribachi. In researching this piece, we found examples made for several different branches of the military (including the Seabees) with different aircraft and one with the flag raising. Several examples of these we found claimed that the aluminum used to cast it came from an actual Japanese Zero propeller that had crashed on the island. We do not know if this is true or not, but it really makes for a great story. This piece is for the 549 Night Fighters, is made of cast aluminum, and is approximately 5-1/2" tall x 3-1/4" wide. This piece is thought to have been made at Iwo Jima near the end of the war.

Britains Set #1876 Bren Gun Carrier with Crew in Box

This lot consists of Britains set #1876 Bren Gun Carrier and Crew. The crew consists of a driver, gunner, and second guard with all three wearing olive drab and steel helmets. The three figures are cut off at the waist and seated in the vehicle. The wheels are hidden underneath the chassis and the tracks on the side are cast. This set comes with its original box, which shows signs of age and use. All Britains figurines are hand painted, hollow cast metal, and made in England.

The stereo card viewer is approximately 12-1/2" long x 5-1/4" at its widest point, and each of the cards are approximately 7" x 3-1/2" in size. The viewer is marked on the bottom The "Perfecscope" and "Underwood & Underwood New York U.S.A." The cards are a mix of different makers and feature worldwide cards as well as one group of 10 from the 1904 St Louis World's Fair and a group of 11 from the San Francisco earthquake of 1906.

Two (2) 1950s Balsa Wood Control Line Unbuilt Model Airplane Kits

This lot is for two (2) vintage, unbuilt balsa wood control-line airplane kits. The first kit is a Ben Howards "Ike" World Famous National Air Racer kit and is an exact scale kit that was manufactured in 1947 by the Enterprise Model Aircraft & Supply Company. The box is approximately 15" long x 5" wide. The second kit is an Art Chester Racer model of a famous racing plane that won many events at the National Air Races. When completed, the balsa wood plane has a wing span of 19-1/2" with an 18-1/2" overall length. It was manufactured by the Aero-Design Model Manufacturing Company of Lincoln, Nebraska. Both kits appear to be complete with the boxes showing some wear due to age.

Family Dog Handbill Featuring H.M.S. Portland and The Charlatans

This handbill measures approximately 4-9/16" x 6-9/16" and is printed on thin white stock. This is the last in the Family Dog Productions numbered Portland series handbills and is referred to as P-4. This handbill is used with folds, creases, stains, and other signs of use.

Beech-Nut Chewing Tobacco Store Counter Bin

This Beech-Nut chewing tobacco bin held the smaller 10 cent packages of tobacco; the customer would lift the lid and remove a package. This piece measures approximately 9-3/4" wide x 8-1/2" tall in the back x 8" deep on the bottom. The bin has a few minor dents and scratches, as to be expected. The decals are in great shape being complete and colorful, although the decal on the lid has some sticker residue. This is a very colorful and desirable piece with a deco flair.

Roseville Zephyr Lily Vase

Offered is a Roseville Zephyr Lily lase circa 1940. This vase has embossed lilies with long slender leaves on a circular textured background of terra cotta and green. The two handles sport an art-deco style, and the vase itself has the classic cone shape. The vase is approximatley 9-1/2" tall x 6" wide at the base. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs, and there relief-raised lettering on the bottom that read "Roseville U.S.A. 136-9."

Mickey Mouse Magazine Vol. 4 No. 2 from November 1938

This lot is for the Mickey Mouse Magazine #38. This comic by K.K. Publications is approximately 8-1/4" x 11-1/2" and has 44 pages. This comic has great Disney content throughout, including stories, jokes, puzzles, and ads for classic merchandise. The front cover has a great image of Donald Duck's three nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, playing golf. The crossword puzzle has been completed, and some of the inside illustrations have been nicely colored by the original owner. This comic has slight aging and remains very vibrant.

Four (4) Stone Knives from Wakemap Mound

These four (4) knives were found at the Wakemap Mound site in Washington (part of Wishram Village on the Columbia River). These are all made from stone unique to this part of the world and range in size from 1-3/8" x 11/16" for the smallest to 2-1/2" x 1-1/8" for the largest. There were many organized digs at this site by the Oregon Archaeological Society in the mid to late 1950s before The Dalles Dam was built. These knives were found by Frank Buehler and remained in his collection until now.

Vintage Glass Straw Dispenser

This is a Hamilton Beach straw dispenser. The information that this is a model #46 came from an old soda fountain supply catalog dated 1933. This dispenser has the correct top and straw holder and even has some old paper straws. The glass is fine with no chips, cracks, etc. If you are my age (which I hope you're not) you certainly remember using these in the '50s and '60s. This is a nice piece of nostalgia.

Satisfaction Cut Plug Smoking and Chewing Tobacco Tin

This is a circa 1910 "lunch pail" tobacco tin for Satisfaction Cut Plug smoking and chewing tobacco. This tobacco was made by Strater Brothers Tobacco Company's factory number 2 in the Fifth District of Kentucky, which was a branch of the Burley Tobacco Company, Inc. This is an all-lithographed tin that is 7-3/4" wide x 5-1/8" tall x 4-5/8" deep. It has scuffs, dents, dings, and scratches consistent with age and use. Included are the original bail, clasp to hold lid closed, and a union paper label on the bottom. It has red, white, and gold colors which are strong, and it looks as if the tin has always been indoors.

Hazle Club BIrch Beer Tin-Over-Cardboard Button Sign

Offered is an original handbill for the Grateful Dead featuring a circular Thomas Weir photo of the Grateful Dead with split, multi-colored stripes. The handbill is advertising two Oregon Grateful Dead concerts: Friday, May 30th at Springer's Hall in Portland and Saturday, May 31st at the University of Oregon's McArthur Court in Eugene. The Palace Meat Market, an Oregon group, opened both shows. This handbill is printed on light green construction paper and measures approximately 7-1/16" wide x 9-29/32" tall. This piece is used and has been folded with tears to the folds. In addition, the handbill has a couple pin holes at the top and bottom center and some noticeable water stains on the back.

1895 Atlanta Black Americana Souvenir Spoon

Offered is an 1895 Sterling Silver souvenir spoon from Atlanta, Georgia. The spoon's handle reads "Atlanta" with green enameled leaves below an African-American boy's face. The bowl features a multi-colored enamel watermelon half and gold wash on both sides of the spoon. The back of the spoon has the following markings: Charles W .Crankshaw; Sterling; Copyrighted 1895; and has old Gorham hallmarks. The spoon is 4-1/8" long x 7/8" wide and is in great condition with no wear to the Sterling or the enamel.

This lot is for three (3) different magic tricks. The first trick is "Harry Anderson's Needle Through Arm" where a large old-fashion hat pin (referred to as the needle) is visibly pushed through the performer's arm. The second trick is "The Cat's Eye" where the object of the trick is for a "cat's eye" marble to penetrate a plastic box. The instruction sheet for this item has a second page that shows another trick. The third trick is is called "Needle Through Thumb," and we bet you can guess the object of this one. Yep, this trick is pretty simple, and the object is that a large needle is pushed through the magician's thumb. All three tricks come complete with the instructions.

WWII Trench Art Shell

Fresh from an estate is this piece of trench art. There is an image of a Navy rope and anchor on one side with a large letter K on the other side. In addition, there are decorations both above and below these images. We cannot make out any of the information on the bottom of the shell, and a note inside just reads, "from anti aircraft gun (off a ship) WWII." The shell is approximately 12" tall x 3" at the base x 2-1/4" on the inside of the flared top. This item weighs just over 2 pounds and 1 ounce.

Britains #1725 4.5" Howitzer and #1726 Artillery Limber with Two Men

This four-piece lot has Britains #1725 the 4.5 Inch Howitzer, #1726 the regulation limber, and two men. The howitzer is olive green with rubber tires and an elevating mechanism. The regulation limber is dark green with rubber tires, a towing eye, and a spare tire on the hinged lid that opens to store shells. This lot includes two kneeling men with one holding a shell for the howitzer. All Britains figurines are hand painted, hollow cast metal, and made in England.

Pair of Silver American Eagle One-Ounce Coins

This lot is for two American Eagle .999 silver one-ounce coins. Each is a United States mint-issued one-ounce pure silver coin. The first one is a 2004 and the second one is a 2009. Both coins look as nice as the day they were minted. The 2004 coin does have some toning around the outer edges on both sides. Each coin comes in a clear plastic case for display or storage.

Panasonic RF-9 Micro Portable 9 Band Radio

Offered is a Panasonic 9 Band micro receiver radio. This radio was made in Japan circa 1983 and is small enough to fit in a pocket, yet has seven SW (short wave), FM, and MW functions. The radio is approximately 5-1/2" x 3" x 1" and has clear reception, good sound, a straight antenna, and clean battery compartment. It comes exactly as pictured, is fully working, and includes a custom leather case made for this model.

Melodious Funk and Five Sleezy Pieces Handbill

This handbill is for an event at the historic Old Church., which is a concert hall and events venue in downtown Portland's West End and has been a Portland landmark since its completion in 1883 and still in use today. This hand bill is for a performance by Melodious Funk and Five Sleezy Pieces. The art work was created by Michael Esquire and is dated 1971, which lines up with the December 5, 1971 performance date. The handbill measures approximately 8-1/2" x 11" and has some stains, wrinkles, and wear from use.

Agfa Film Small Tri-Fold Sign

This tri-fold sign is in like new condition and is advertising a product for which there is not a lot of advertising. It is a nice size for a tri-fold with it being small enough to fit almost anywhere. There are no bends, tears. or fading, and the colors are bright. It measures approximately 8-1/2" x 15-1/2" closed and 17" x 15-1/2" when open.

Pre-Prohibition Rainier Beer Tray and Coaster Set

Offered is a pre-prohibition Rainier tray and coaster set that was made in Germany. Each of the seven pieces has a white porcelain bottom and a plated metal outer-band or rim. Each features an image of Mount Rainier, evergreen trees, and "Rainier Pale Beer." The tray has handles attached to either side and has "Compliments Of The Season" written across the top. Each of the six coasters measure approximately 3" diameter x 7/8" deep, and the tray is approximately 9-1/4" in diameter x 1-1/8" deep (not including the handles). None of the pieces have cracks, chips, or repairs, only a few dings, dents, or spots to the metal rims here and there. Thought to be from 1905, its hard to find a complete set this nice and intact after all of these years!

Rubber Band Counter-Top Display

This is an Eberhard Faber counter-top tin litho display for Ruby Rubber Bands. The top lifts up as a "marquee" making a very bright and colorful display. It features the gold medal they won at the Panama Pacific Expo and measures approximately 15" wide x 5" tall x 5-1/2" deep. It is a little more distressed than we prefer, but thought it was different enough to include in the auction.

Early Paleo Spedis Columbia River Arrowhead

This lot features an early Paleo Spedis arrowhead or point found on Sauvies Island in the Lower Columbia River near Scappoose, Oregon circa 1960. The size is approximately 1" long x 9/16" wide and is from Frank Buehler's collection. This has interesting coloring to the edges of the arrowhead and was pictured in Overstreet Guide 8th edition on page #1270.

Coon Chicken Inn Large Menu

This lot is for an original Coon Chicken Inn menu. This menu is approximately 6-1/4" wide x 8-3/8" tall and lists locations in Seattle, Portland, and Salt Lake City. This menu is in good condition and has "1942" written on the inside in pencil. There is minor paper loss on the front and water marks on the back. There were only three restaurants, and one was one in Portland, and this Portland consignor guarantees the item is authentic. Please see lot #73 for a description of the Coon Chicken Inn's history.

USL Niagara Dry Batteries Tri-Fold, Die-Cut Display Sign

Offer is a circa 1920 die-cut, tri-fold display sign for USL Niagara radio dry batteries. USL Niagara was from Niagara Falls, New York, as you could tell by the great image of the famous waterfalls. The sign is made of a heavy, printed paper stock or pulp board. The sign makes into a freestanding 3-D display that is approximately 29-1/2" tall x 30" wide x 12" deep (the width and depth can vary depending on how the sides are set). The center insert is approximately 17" wide x 14-1/2" tall and its side tabs have been broken off. As a result, a piece of mat board is clipped to it as a temporary repair, just as the yellow post-it tape is temporarily holding a split seam on one side. Please check the pictures, as there are some other flaws to this great looking display sign.

"The Carry Away Book: Classic Tales Retold" Book

This is a delightful children's book with "pull out" handles so it can be carried like a briefcase. The stories include: "My Shadow" by Robert Louis Stevenson; "Maida, Cinderella - retold"; "Robert of Lincoln" by William Cullen Bryant; "Bobby's Cat Tiger, Puss In Boots - retold"; Tina, Thumbelina - retold; and several others. The book was arranged by Mary S. Child and illustrated by Violet LaMont. This book was published by Broadland, Inc of New York and measures approximately 9" wide x12" tall. The die-cut handles have been used and the bottom part of the last page is loose, but otherwise, the book is in very good condition.

Four Different Liberty Head U.S. Large Cents

This lot is for an assortment of four Liberty Head United States large cents. The dates are 1840, 1842, 1843, and 1844. As with all of our coins, these are ungraded and straight from the consignor to the bidder. We have not attempted to grade or clean these coins, and they are being sold as received. Due to the composition and age of the coins, the metal has become dark. Because of this, the photos were enhanced to show both detail and give an accurate description.

Pair of Highlander Premium Beer Cans

For sale today is a pair of Highlander Premium Beer cans. The flat top can is from Missoula Brewing Company in Missoula, Montana and was made prior to the brewery closing in 1965. After the brewery closed, production was moved to the Highlander Brewing Company in Seattle, Washington. The zip-tab can is the first can filled in Seattle and then was shipped back to Montana. This old design was short lived and a new can design was released shortly thereafter. Both are clean indoor cans with minor flaws such as scratches, nicks, dings, and case wear.

Tommy Tucker Orchestra Poster from Jantzen Beach

Offered is an original poster from Jantzen Beach Amusement Park in Portland, Oregon. This poster was for the Tommy Tucker Orchestra's week-long engagement during the 1940s. Tommy Tucker opened each performance, whether on the radio or live, with his signature "tic-toc, tic-toc, it's Tommy Tucker time," which is also seen in the graphics of this poster. The poster is printed on a very heavy card stock and is approximately 20-3/4" wide x 26-3/4" tall. There are some condition issues, such as tack holes on the top corners and bumps, scuffs, stains, folds, and bends throughout the poster. The back has some scotch tape on it and there was no attempt to remove it.

United States Navy Hat Badges

This lot consists of four (4) US Navy hat badges and one (1) 3-1/2" diameter convex brass medallion. The medallion has three mount holes, and the crossed-anchors badge is sterling silver and the USN badge is from WWII. The "Command" badge has three clasp-pins, and the other three badges have screw-post mountings.

Vaseline Glass Covered Butter Dish

Offered is a canary yellow Vaseline glass covered butter dish in the Queen pattern. This piece was made by Mosser Glass of Cambridge, Ohio and is 5" tall to the top of the finial cover x 7-1/4" in diameter. It glows next to a black light and is sometimes called uranium glass. The dish and cover are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or flea bites.

DeLaval Service Metal Arrow Sign

This metal sign was manufactured by tge C. E. Erickson Co., Inc of Des Moines, Iowa to direct people to Putney's Store where they performed service for DeLaval products every Friday. The sign is approximately 24" x 6" in size. This is a very unusual sign; in fact, it is the only one we have ever had.

Rabbit Island Point from Sauvies Island

This lot features a medium Rabbit Island point or arrowhead found on Sauvies Island on the Lower Columbia River circa 1960. The arrowhead from the Frank Buehler collection is a 1-1/4" x 9/16" and has fine details and a nice light pink color.

Admiral Television Light-Up Sign

This counter sign from the 1950s has a metal base with a heavy plastic top that reads "Admiral - Television - Appliances." When the light is off, every little scratch in the plastic shows, but turn on the light and they disappear. It measures approximately 13" wide x 4-1/2" tall x 1" deep. This is a nice little sign from an appliance store in Chicago.

Pedro Cut Plug Smoking Tobacco Lunch Pail Tin

This is a circa 1910 "lunch pail" tobacco tin for Pedro Cut Plug smoking tobacco made by Wm. the S. Kimball & Company, The American Tobacco Company, Inc. at their Factory No 1 in the District of Virginia. This is an all-lithographed tin that is approximately 7-3/4" x 5-1/8" x 4-1/2" with great graphics. It has a few small dents, dings, and scratches consistent with age and use. Included are the original bail clasp to hold lid closed and a partial paper tax stamp on one end.

Original Once-Cent/Penny Master Gumball Machine

This great old penny gumball machine is a rare find, indeed, with the original red and black porcelain body, top, and base.The machine comes with the original key that opens both locks. The aluminum parts still hold a nice polish and the machine looks great overall! It is embossed on the front with, "THE MASTER pat Aug 14 - 23." The machine is approximately 16" tall x 6" square with the base being 8" square. It really looks good with just honest wear, which includes a few marks and nicks along with a couple chips on the bottom of the base. It is loaded with gumballs and works great!

1943 Scott's Postage Stamp album with 3000+ stamps

This lot is for a Scott's International Postage Stamp Album from 1943. It was put together years ago with a lot of care and patience. We went through the album and counted over 3000 stamps from 1943 or older, and all the stamps are in good condition. There is a mix of both used and unused stamps. The album comes from a smoke free estate and will make a great start or addition to your collection.

Gladstone Leather Bag by Brooks Brothers

Offered is a vintage brown leather belted Gladstone-style bag. The consignor has had this piece since the 1950s and is downsizing. The bag was made in England for Brooks Brothers and has a small tag inside with this information. This bag was made from a rich and thick tan and brown leather with brass hardware. The stitching is in immaculate condition, and the inside has its original cloth lining. With a good cleaning and leather treatment, this will be ready to go for another 50 years. This large bag is approximately 24" long x 12" wide x 15" deep when opened. The lock latch works as do the other latches, but the key is missing. We did notice the initials PZB below the handles on one side. You do not see a bag like this one very often!

Grateful Dead Concert Poster from Portland, Oregon

Offered is an old Grateful Dead poster. We do not know if it was a prototype or from a canceled event, as we cannot find where the dates align with any of their concerts. Since this was found in Portland, Oregon and mentions the Rose Festival, we think this may have been for a Portland performance, as they played in Portland many times. The Friday, June 2nd and Saturday, June 3rd dates would identify the year of this event as 1972, 1978, 1989 or 1995. The poster is an unusual size and measures approximately 11-1/2" wide x 32-1/2" tall. It is printed on heavy card stock and has some condition issues. There are horizontal folds and creases, water damage and stains, a hole on the left side in the "J" in June, and a hole on the rim of the top hat. The back has water stains, paper loss, and wear. We have included several pictures of the poster and have never seen another like it anywhere!

Vintage Kreskin's ESP Game

This game by the Milton Bradley Company of Springfield, Massachusetts allows you to test your Extra Sensory Perception (ESP) powers by exploring your mental powers with the mystery pendulum. Kreskin is the world's foremost authority on ESP and thinks you have ESP! This Kreskin's ESP game has a copyright date of 1966 and was intended for 1 or more players from 10 years old to an adult. The box measures approximately 19" long x 9-1/2" wide x 1-1/2" tall, and the game comes complete with all the original pieces.

1938-D High Grade Buffalo Nickel

Offered is a 1938-D Buffalo Nickel. This coin was said to be from "an original roll." Looking at the coin itself, this is a very accurate description, as it appears to be in mint condition. Please look at the pictures, for this Buffalo Nickel is as nice as they come! On the "heads" side of the coin there appears to be yellow spots, which are reflections from the photography and we were not able to take a photo without them appearing. Like all our coins, it is straight from the consignor and is ungraded. Since we are not coin dealers we do not try to determine the grade of the coins we offer and will always leave that to be determined by the winning bidder.

1972 Black Moses (Isaac Hayes) Poster

Offered is an original 1972 Isaac Hayes "Black Moses" poster. The poster was made by Gemini Rising out of New York and is poster number RK279. Gemini Rising was known for their rock star and political spoof posters distributed in the late '60s and early '70s. This poster is unused and was just unrolled to take these pictures. This item is approximately 35-1/2" x 23-1/2" and has some small dings to the left edge.

Group of Five (5) Deschutes River Arrowheads

Offered are five (5) Columbia River Basin arrowheads found in the lower Deschutes River from the Frank Buehler collection. The Oregon Archaeological Society members were known to have worked at several sites in the area during the 1950s and 60s. The arrowheads in this group range in size from 3/4" x 1/2" for the smallest to 1" x 5/8" for the largest. These are made from multi-colored agate or jasper thatis unique to this region.

Great Falls Select Beer 6-Pack of Cans

Offered is an original cardboard six-pack of flat top cans. The cans are all identical Great Falls Select Fine Beer cans from Great Falls Breweries, Inc. in Great Falls, Montana. These are all 12-ounce cans with each can having the image of the Great Falls Cowboy on either side in a different pose. The cans are in great condition with all of the gold metallic finish being bright and crisp. The can have the usual case dings and wear you would expect from a six-pack.

1938 United States Presidential Stamp Set with Extras

Up for auction is a complete set of 1938 United States Presidential Series Stamps. This unused set is Scott numbers 803 through 834. Included with the set are some coil stamps from this same series. We did notice that the five dollar stamp has some perforations missing along the top edge and some of the stamps have been hinged. All of the stamps are loose and displayed as pictured.

Seraphim Classics #67088 Lydia "Winged Poet" Angel Figurine by Roman, Inc.

Offered is a Seraphim Classics Lydia "Winged Poet" angel figurine #67088 by Roman, Inc. The angel is playing a mandolin. This fine figurine from 1993 measures approximately 6-1/2" tall x 5-1/4" at its widest point. This angel was kept in a closed display case and was placed back in her original box when brought in by the consignor. This piece has the original box, styrofoam packaging, and is free of chips, cracks, or repairs.

2-1/2 Peso Gold Coin

Gospel Extravaganza for Christ Poster

This original boxing-style poster is for a concert performance held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It featured Willie Neal Johnson & the New Keynotes along with Arthur Crume and the Famous Soul Stirrers. The event was held on Thursday, April 22, 1993. This 14" x 22" poster is used with tape on the edges along with stains and dirt from use.

Brion Vega TS 502 Cube Radio from Italy

Offered is the first of two different Brion Vega portable radios from Italy. This radio is a cult design, a '60s icon object, and is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The radio does not reveal its contents from the outside when closed; it is a nondescript box with rounded corners and edges that measures 8-3/4" long x 5-1/4" wide x 5-1/4" deep. This is a two band radio that is capable of receiving AM and FM. The radio features a unique clamshell design that closes for transport. It opens into one side featuring the speaker and volume knob, and the other side featuring the knobs, dials, and instrumentation for operating the radio. This item uses six "C" batteries and its white color has toned by age and now has a creamy-white appearance. The antenna is straight, the radio works, and batteries are not included. The other Brion Vega Radio is Lot #283.

Roseville Pottery Magnolia Double-Handle Vase

Offered is this Roseville Pottery double-handle vase. This circa 1940 multi-colored terracotta and cream vase features Magnolia Blossoms on black stems. The size of this vase is approximately 6-1/8" tall x 6-3/4" wide and has markings on the bottom in relief-raised lettering that reads "Roseville, U.S.A., 180-6." There are no chips, cracks, or repairs on this piece.

Mickey Mouse Magazine Vol. 2 No. 10 from July 1937

This lot is for the Mickey Mouse Magazine #22. This comic by K.K. Publications is approximately 8-1/4" x 11-1/2" and has 36 pages. This comic has great Disney content throughout, including stories, jokes, puzzles, and ads for classic merchandise. The front cover has a great image of Donald Duck, and the back cover has an ad for an Ingersoll Mickey Mouse watch with charms. The crossword puzzle has been completed, and some of the inside illustrations have been nicely colored by the original owner. This comic has slight aging and remains very vibrant.

Cascade Leaf Point from the Maybe Site

Offered is a Cascade Leaf point found at the Maybe site on the Columbia River near The Dallas, Oregon. This is a very nice looking piece and is 2-1/4" long x 9/16" wide. The Maybe Site was a well-known site that produced many points and tools. The Oregon Archaeological Society organized many digs there in the mid- to late-1950s.

Sloan's Family Liniment Die-Cut, Easel-Back Sign

Vintage 5 Cent Regal Vending Machine

This lot features a beautiful art deco vending machine that is made of cast aluminum with a glass globe. This 5¢ Regal Vendor and can dispense candy, nuts, or gum with a portion adjustment inside. This machine is the polished variation and has never been painted. These unpainted variations are few and far between as they are made from a higher grade of aluminum then the regular painted variation. Complete with a lock and key, this machine has been thoroughly reviewed and will work for years to come. The candy inside is for display only and will not be shipped with the machine. This piece is approximately 14-1/2" x 7" x 7" and would make a great machine to use or display!

Britains Set #142 French Zouaves (Charging)

This is a set of eight French Zouaves charging with fixed bayonets made by Britains. The set changed in 1954 to six men with a mounted officer and reduced to five men in 1960. The French Zouaves were produced from 1948 until 1966. All Britains figurines are hand painted, hollow cast metal, and made in England.

100 United States Silver War Nickels

This lot is for 100 United States war nickels with assorted dates. These nickels are referred to as war nickels because they were produced from 1942 through 1945 during WWII. They contain 35% silver, 56% copper, 9% manganese. Nickel, the main metal in the standard nickel, was highly valued for use in armor plating and was rationed along with many commodities during the war. All three mints bore very large mint marks above the dome of Monticello. This was the first time the letter "P" was used as a mint mark on a U. S. coin. Each war nickel contains .05626 troy ounces of pure silver making each $1 in face value (20 nickels) contain over 1.125 troy ounces of pure silver. The winning bidder will receive the one hundred silver nickels pictured exactly as received from the consignor.

Original 1958 Vintage Coca-Cola "Sign Of Good Taste" Calendar

This is a wonderful vintage 1958 Coca-Cola calendar. Each page features two months along with a picture of a girl engaged in an activity of the season while having a Coke. The colors in this calendar are bright and vivid. In addition to the 12 months of 1958, there is a page for December 1957, which of course features Santa Claus. The piece measures approximately 12-1/4" wide by 22" tall. The calendar is in great condition with only some minor tears on the bottom, and if chosen, could easily be repaired with archival tape. There are no pieces missing.

The American Museum Handbill from Portland

This lot features an 8-1/2" x 11" handbill from the American Museum, which was a small club in downtown Portland, Oregon in the early 1970s. The groups performing at this venue are Steve Bradley and his Firemen playing Thursday through Saturday along with Melodious Funk playing on Monday nights. This handbill is most likely from 1971. Steve Bradley was in several other Portland area bands and was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2007. This venue was short lived and little printed materials from it exists in any condition. This handbill has been touched up at some point in several places, which may or may not show up in the pictures and is mentioned for accuracy.

Four (4) Spanish-American War Hat Badges

The badges are from the 8th regiment of the M Company (Red/white = 4th brigade April 1910), 13th regiment of the K Company (Blue = 3rd brigade April 1908), 29th regiment of the E Company, and 15th regiment of the L Company.

Cuban Star Long Cut Tobacco Tin Pail

This tin pail originally held Cuban Star Long Cut Tobacco manufactured by Spaulding & Merrick from Chicago, Illinois. The can measures approximately 6-1/4" tall x 5-3/8" diameter and has been shrink-wrapped to protect the remains of the paper label. This pail had fifteen holes punched in the lid for ventilation, has some paper loss, and is in fair condition.

Two (2) Berkeley Balsa Wood Model Airplane Kits

This lot consists of two (2) Berkeley balsa wood airplane kits from the 1950s. The first is a "Pay-Dirt" model kit that can be built to either a 36" or 48" wingspan. The decals are missing, but we feel that everything else is included; however, there is no packing list to verify this. The second is a National Junior Combat Champion "Lancer" airplane kit that has a 39-1/2" wingspan. Both kits were manufactured by the Berkeley Models, Inc. of West Hempstead, New York. Like the other models in this auction, the box shows some light fading due to age.

Leonard vs. Duran Boxing Poster from June 20, 1980

This is an original poster for the first Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran fight. The event was held at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Canada on June 20, 1980. This fight was long before the Pay-Per-View we have today. Instead, the fight was shown all over the world live on close circuit television. This poster was to advertise the fight being shown in Spokane, Washington. This used poster measures approximately 14" x 22" poster and is printed on a thin card stock. There are no tack holes or tape, just some bumps and wear around the edges consistent with age and use. In a very close decision, the international panel of judges voted unanimously for Duran.

Pepsi-Cola Screen Door Push

This screen door push is dated 1969 and was made by the Stout Sign Company in St. Louis, Missouri. The center is approximately 14" wide x 5" tall and is very heavy metal (almost like porcelain). This lot is fresh from the same estate as the stamp album in lot #226 in this auction. The album in lot #226 is from 1943, and it looks as if all these stamps are from 1943 and newer. In addition, some stamps are still attached to envelope corners. We did not count them as there are a lot of them. Their total weight is over six ounces. Family Dog: Quicksilver Messenger Service Handbill from Portland

Offered is an original first printing handbill for Quicksilver Messenger Service and the Nazz Are Blues Band at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. This event was held on March 1-2, 1968. The handbill measures approximately 4-1/8" x 6-3/4" and is printed on thin white stock. It features a watch dial towering above John Cipollina with band members on either side. This is the third in the Family Dog Productions numbered Portland series and it is referred to as P-3. This handbill is used with folds, creases, stains, and other signs of use. This piece is hard to find in any condition.

Britains #136 Russian Cossacks Calvary in Original Box

This is Britains five-piece set of the mounted Imperial Russian Cossacks Calvary Review Order with lances (the officer carries a sword). The Cossack horse with a bushy tail was only used for this set. This set is in its original box, which does have some broken side pieces. These rare, pre-1966 Britains figurines are hand painted, hollow cast lead, and they were made in England.

Columbia River Jasper Arrowhead

Pair of Hamm's Beer Bear Bottle Decanters by Ceramarte

Offered is a pair of Hamm's Beer bear bottle decanters.These decanters were made in Brazil by Ceramarte in 1972 and measure approximately 11" tall x 4" wide. One decanter even has its original "Seasons Greetings" tag. There is a plastic sleeve inside one bottle to secure the head. Extra care has been taken by adding removable putty along the top rim sleeve of the second bottle to hold the head more securely. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs; however, there are some spots and flaws in the glaze here and there from when these were made. Reflections in the photographs are due to the bears having a high gloss. You will not be disappointed with these decanters.

Agate Knife from the Maybe Site

Offered is a Columbia River multi-colored non-translucent agate knife found at the Maybe site by Frank Buehler. It is a nice-sized knife at 2-7/8" long x 1-1/2" wide. The Maybe site is a well-known late Archaic to Paleo site that produced many points and tools. The Oregon Archaeological Society organized many digs there in the mid- to late-1950's.

Coin Bond Cigar Hanging Sign

Butte Beer Tray from Butte, Montana

Offered is a nice, old Butte Beer tray from the Butte Brewing Company. in Butte, Montana. The brewery was in business from 1933 until their close in 1963. The tray has great colors and features their trademark logo at the top center. This tray measures approximately 13-3/8" x 1-5/8" and was made by the Universal Tray & Sign Company of New York, New York (as marked at the bottom center). Other than some edge wear on the back, this tray is about as nice as they come.

Two American Indian and Buffalo One-Ounce Silver Rounds

Paul Revere and the Raiders 1964 Concert Poster

This is the first of two original Paul Revere and the Raiders posters in this auction that our consignor purchased from founding band member, Mark Lindsey. The poster is from their Saturday July 25, 1964 performance held at the Salem Armory Auditorium in Salem, Oregon. This is one of the earliest examples of their posters when performances were often called dances and had not yet changed to the concert format as we know it. Near the bottom, the poster states "DRESS UP - No sweat shirts of any kind - No Blue Jeans." This poster measures approximately 13-3/4" wide x 19-3/4" tall. There are no tack holes, but the poster does have some paper loss to the back from tape being removed. The piece looks great with some age showing around the poster's edge. In addition, there is a small tear at the top center and on the bottom right corner.

Nine (9) British Badges

Two badges are a lapel/collar badge set from the Durham Light Infantry, and other badges are for: the National Defense Company, the Royal Army Services Corps, the Cornwall Light Infantry, the Intelligence Corps, the British Army Pay Department, and the Sherwood Foresters (states, "Notts Derby"). The ninth badge has King George VI's "GRI" cypher, which would no longer exist after India became independent.

United States Air Mail Plate Block Album

This lot features a three-ring binder type of album by Minkus Publications. The album has all plate blocks of United States Air Mail or flight related stamps. There are a total of 53 different plate blocks that are all mounted in the modern black plastic holders with a combined face value of $30.60. Someone inventoried the album with a catalog value from January 2013, and it had an estimated value at that time of $124.10. The stamps all look to be from 1941 through 1974 and appear to be unused and unhinged. We have shown several of the stamps but cannot show them all.

Duran vs. Leonard "No Mas" Boxing Poster

This is an original poster for the second Roberto Duran vs. Sugar Ray Leonard fights. This is one of the most famous fights in boxing history in which Roberto Duran gave up and quit in the eighth round by saying "No Mas" (Spanish for "No More")! The event was held on Nov. 25, 1980 in the Louisiana Superdome located in New Orleans, Louisiana. This fight was long before the Pay-Per-View we have today. Instead, the fight was show all over the world live on close circuit television. This poster advertised the fight being shown in Spokane, Washington and there is a pre-printed piece of white tape that reads "Spokane Coliseum" on the front from when the venue location was changed. The 14" x 21-3/4" poster is used and printed on a thin card stock. There are no tack holes or tapes, just some bent corners, bumps, and wear consistent with age and use.

Britains Swoppets #H1452 15th Century Knight with Box

Worlds Smallest Transistor PhonoRadio Player

Offered is a Takt Drifter Midget Japanese transistor radio and phonograph. The instruction sheet claims it to be the "World's smallest Transistor PhonoRadio Model TPR-61." This item is battery operated and takes three C batteries (not included). We tested this at both speeds (45 RPM and 33 RPM), and both the record player and the AM transistor radio work. This red and white player comes with the original instruction sheet and black carrying case. This item is circa 1960 and is approximately 7" x 4" x 1-3/4" in size. The only condition issues we noticed was a chip and crack on the lower right corner of the clear plastic cover, cracks and repairs made to the white 45 RPM adapter, and signs of light use and wear. The record is not included.

Jimmie Hughes Cotton Club Poster

Here is a seldom found poster for the Cotton Club in Portland, Oregon. The Cotton Club was a nightclub located in North Portland that gained regional and a bit of national fame in the 1960s as the "only nightclub on the West Coast with wall-to-wall soul." It was said that celebrities such as Cab Calloway, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Joe Louis would visit the nightclub when they were in town. This poster is for the Little Jimmie Hughes Show held on Monday June 6, 1966. The poster is approximately 14-3/8" x 22-1/2" and is used with a single tack hole in each corner and some slight discoloring due to age.

1958 Heidelberg Beer 6-Pack of Cans

Since these cans were found in a barn, they do have humidity spots, case dings, and light wear with none of the cans being in mint condition.

Brion Vega TS 505a Cube Radio Italy

Offered is the second of two different Brion Vega portable radios from Italy we have in this auction.This radio is an updated version of their classic TS 502 radio made famous in the sixties. This radio is the TS 505a and is a tri-band radio that is capable of receiving AM, FM, and Long Wave. The radio features a unique clamshell design that closes for transport. When opened, one side features the speaker and power switch, and the second side features the knobs, dials, and instrumentation for operating the radio. This item uses six "C" batteries and is white with black trim. The radio is slightly smaller than the earlier version measuring approximately 9" long x 5-1/8" wide x 5-1/8" deep. The antenna is straight, the radio works, and batteries are not included. The other Brion Vega Radio is Lot #239.

This Seraphim Classics "Daisy" angel figurine from 2001 is the third in a series of four angels that were introduced throughout 2001 to celebrate the special moments in our lives. This angel was kept in a closed display case and was placed back in her original box when brought in by the consignor. The figurine is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, but the box has a few scratches on the front.

Three Different Liberty Head U.S. Large Cents

Due to the composition and age of the coins, the metal has become dark. Because of this, the photos were enhanced to show both detail and give an accurate description.

U.S. Cadenza and New Direction played on Friday, April 28th and Pre-Cambrian, Lightning Bolt, and the Moguls played on Saturday. April 29th. This is printed on thin glossy stock and features psychedelic artwork of a peacock superimposed on the body of a woman. The size is approximately 5-1/2" wide x 8-1/2" tall. There are no tack holes or stains, but there is a diagonal crease from the top right to the bottom left that is noticeable when the light reflects off the glossy paper.

This lot features twenty-five different unused sheets of United States postage stamps. These are from 1958 through 1968 and were put away years ago. These have full glue on back and are unused with a combined face value of $52.10. We noticed some sheets had been mishandled and have random edge nicks or tears on the perforation.

Notched Point from the Bead Patch Site

Two Swift & Company Celluloid Advertising Items

The first piece is a 7/8" celluloid pin-back with a 2-1/4" die-cut girl (which is also celluloid) hanging by the original ribbon. The total length of this piece is approximately 3-1/2" and this pin-back was manufactured by the Whitehead & Hoag Company with a 1905 date. The second piece is a 1915 pocket calendar advertising "Two World Famous Cuts" of "Swift's Premium Ham and Bacon" and the Panama Canal. It is probably from the Panama-Pacific Exposition. It was also manufactured by the Whitehead & Hoag Company and measures approximately 3-5/8" tall x 1-3/4" wide. Both are in excellent condition with very vibrant colors.

Bronze Tone Bookends

This is the postwar version with the kettle drummers arms being movable and joined together at the wrists. The remaining band members play the tuba, clarinet, bassoon, cymbals, trombone, and trumpet. This set was made until 1965. All Britains figurines are hand painted, hollow cast metal, and made in England.

Two Mexican Liberated .999 Silver One-Ounce Coins

Three (3) Different Magic Tricks - Set #3

This lot is for three (3) different magic tricks. The first trick is called "Fooled, Watch the Red Spot" where two cards with black dots and one with red dots are placed under a handkerchief. When the handkerchief is removed, the red dotted card magically changed into the words "fooled again." This is an amazing trick with all the original cards. The second trick is "Lucifer's Lock" and come complete with the padlock and key. The object of this trick is is that a locked lock is placed on a cord with stoppers and the magician somehow removes it. The instruction sheet for this one is a little rough, but it is readable. The third trick is is called "Prof. 'Miles' Newspaper Cutting Trick" where a newspaper is cut and it restores itself. This item seems to be complete with the envelope being a little rough. All three tricks come complete with the instructions.

Two (2) Brown Derby Flat Top Beer Cans from Spokane, Washington

One can lists breweries in Chicago, Spokane, and Boise and the second can just lists Chicago and Spokane. Both cans were bottom opened with 4% alcohol content stated on the top lid. These are both indoor cans with sharp bright gold metallic trim. Other than the usual case dings and a spot on the Boise can, these two are about as nice as they come.

Vaseline Glass Spooner Vase

Sony ICF-5500W PSB/FM/AM Portable Radio

Lot #303 (Sale Order 303 of 365)

Up for bid is this vintage Sony Public Service Band PSB/AM/FM three-band receiver model ICF-5500W. We tested the different functions, which include the light, timer, and pop-up antenna feature; they all worked as they should. All knobs and switches are in very nice working shape as well. The battery compartment has its cover, and the terminals are clean without corrosion. The strap is in excellent shape and even has the ear plugs in the side compartment. The only flaw we could find was the tuning and battery meter is stuck to the far right on "10." The radio is 8-1/4" x 7" x 2-3/4" and comes with a vintage Sony Radio booklet.

Handmade German Swirl Marbles

This lot features four (4) vintage handmade marbles. Each of the marbles feature similar looking alternating multi-colored swirls and are thought to be German made. The marbles are in nice condition overall with only a few small dings and/or flea bites. The smallest is approximately 9/16" in diameter and the largest is 3/4" in diameter.

Coca-Cola Menu Board

This is a very colorful circa 1960s Coca-Cola menu board. This sign is approximately 20" wide x 28" tall, and the red circle saying "Enjoy Coca-Cola" is embossed. This menu board is in like new condition with only a few scratches on the bottom edge. We doubt you will ever have to upgrade this great piece!

1987 U.S. Prestige Proof Set

This lot is for a 1987 constitution prestige six-piece coin set. The large silver dollar is just over 3/4 of an ounce of pure silver. The set comes in the original government packaging, which includes a nice looking leather binder, outer box, and certificate of authenticity from the mint. The certificate gives all the details about each of these proof grade coins.

Gin-Gera Label-Under-Glass Soda Syrup Bottle

This is an original syrup bottle for Gin-Gera, which was a ginger ale soft drink product circa 1915. Gin-Gera was a franchised beverage, and the different bottlers purchased the syrup then sold the soda in bottles or at soda fountains. This bottle is approximately 11-3/4" tall x 3-1/2" diameter. The label was mounted under the glass at the factory and retains all of its color and charm. There are the usual nicks and chips to the edges of the glass covering label, and the rest of the bottle in excellent condition. This is one of those bottles every collection needs, but only a few collections have since they seldom come up for sale.

Little Jimmy Dickens Poster

The event was held on Friday, July 11 of either 1969 or 1975. Judy Lynn and Pat Kelly and the Shamrocks performed with Jimmy Dickens that night. This unused poster is approximately 14" x 22" with no tack holes or tape, just a corner bump to the bottom right corner

Blitz Weinhard Flat Top Beer Can

Offered is a 12-ounce flat top beer can from the Blitz Weinhard Company of Portland, Oregon. This circa 1950 can is about as nice as they come with great color and shine. The gold metallic finish is sharp and bright, and the can has no humidity spots that so many of these cans have. This can has a nice vanity lid and only a couple case dings along the rims.

Three (3) Unopened Glass Candy Lanterns

Roseville Pottery Bushberry Jardiniere

Offered is a Roseville Bushberry Jardiniere. This piece has embossed berries with leaves on slender branches on a circular textured background of terra cotta and green with a more orange-like color on the inside. The size is 5-1/8" tall x 4-1/4" wide at the base x 7-1/2" at it widest point. This jardiniere has no chips, cracks, or repairs and has markings in relief-raised lettering on the bottom that read "Roseville U.S.A. 657-5."

Rainier Pre-Prohibition Etched Beer Glass

California Gold Miner/Prospector Sterling Souvenir Spoon

This lot is for a sterling silver souvenir spoon from the Cliff House of San Francisco, California. The spoon is made to resemble a shovel, with the shovel's handle featuring a miner carrying a large nugget of gold with the words, "STRUCK IT AT LAST." This spoon is approximately 4" tall x 1-1/16" wide, is marked sterling on back, and weighs 18 grams.

1969 Alice Cooper at Ides Hall Handbill

This lot is for three different 1969 handbills. All three are for events held at the Ides Hall in Hayward, California. The first handbill is for Sweet Linda Devine (Linda Tillery, the lead singer in the San Francisco-based group the Loading Zone), which took place on February 7th and 8th. The second handbill is for a little-known performance by Alice Cooper held on March 7th and 8th. The third one is for an event on March 14th and 15th for a band called Cleanliness and Godliness Skiffle Band, of which Country Joe McDonald was most likely a member. The Alice Cooper handbill is apparently three months before the release of their first album, and there is very little information on him regarding that time-frame. The event is not listed on official sites, but references of this event can be found on the internet. All three pieces came from the same collection and are approximately 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" with stains, folds, tape residue, and other flaws.

Texaco Service Station Map Holder

This lot is for a circa 1940 Texaco map holder. These were mounted in Texaco service stations back in the day and had maps placed in them. This one has a couple of newer map included and is 9" tall x 4" wide x 2-3/8" deep. It displays well and looks great with its original green paint and Texaco Touring Service decal.

Rainier Jubilee "Paul Bunyan" Flat Top Beer Can

This is the second of three different Rainier jubilee beer cans offered in this auction. This is a 12-ounce can from Sicks' Seattle Brewing & Malting Company of Seattle, Washington. This can has a wonderful green, silver, and gold metallic finish and features the images of Babe The Blue Ox, Paul Bunyan, and several logging or outdoor scenes. The can's artwork was created by Walter Landor & Associates. This can has a couple flaws, such as the usual case dings as well as a scratch or rub on the top front (just below the rim and to the right or the "R" -- this flaw blends into the design of the can and is not instantly noticeable). In addition, this can has a new bottom lid. There are great graphics and color to this one!

Columbia River Basin Arrowhead from the John Day River

Britains Set #1307 - 16th Century Knights with Box

This is Britains set #1307: 16th Century Knights in Armor (Mounted and on Foot). All knights are in full tilting armor of the period. The six standing knights have no bases and look like standing suits of armor in a museum. The three mounted knights are on armored horses on the move. Eight of the nine knights have their lances, but one mounted knight is missing its arm and lance. This set was made from 1948 through 1962. This set is in its original box, which does have some broken side pieces. All Britains figurines are hand painted, hollow cast metal, and made in England.

United States Trans-Mississippi Expo Stamps

Vintage Marbles Assortment Lot #1

This auction has two lots of vintage marbles. Both lots are from the same consignor who purchased them at an estate sale a few years ago and never did anything with them. He divided the marbles into two identical containers and asked us to sell them as two separate lots. This first lot is 2-3/4 pounds of marbles (not counting the container) with approximately 210 marbles. As we looked through them, we noticed several different styles and types of marbles that range in size from 1/2" up to about 7/8" in size. Multi-Colored Columbia River Arrowhead

Statue of Liberty Silver Dollar & American Eagle

This lot is for a pair of modern United States Silver coins. The first is the 1986-S Ellis Island commemorative silver dollar produced by the US mint to mark the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the Statue of Liberty in New York, City. The second coin is the one-ounce American Silver Eagle coin with enhanced, painted highlights from 2000. Both coins come in their original clear plastic holders and are made of silver. The Ellis Island dollar has the same amount of silver as the Morgan and Peace dollars and contains 0.77 troy ounces of silver, while the American Eagle is a one-ounce coin.

Pair of 1798 Draped Bust U.S. Large Cents

This lot is for a pair of 1798 Draped Bust United States large cents. One has the reverse of 1797 and hairstyle two while the other is a normal variation. As with all of our coins, these are ungraded and straight from the consignor to the bidder. We have not attempted to grade or clean these coins, and they are being sold as received. Due to the composition and age of the coins, the metal has become dark. Because of this, the photos were enhanced to show both detail and give an accurate description.

Shell Oil Company 10 Year Service Award

Offer is the first of three different 10K Gold Shell Oil Company service awards. This one features their scalloped shell design made of 10K yellow gold mounted on an Anson 1/20 12K gold filled tie bar. The shell is approximately 1/2" x 1/2" and the tie bar is 2-1/2" in length. The shell is marked 10K and dated 1949 on the back.

Virgin Territory at Arbuckle Flats in Portland Handbill/Poster

This item is a cross between a poster and a handbill. It is approximately 11" wide x 12-3/4" tall so it is closer in size to that of a small poster. Arbuckle Flatt was a coffee house that started in the mid- to late-sixties in Portland, Oregon. This venue was one of many establishments in downtown Portland that catered to the youth or hippie movement of the day. This item was for a performance by Virgin Territory on February 17, 1978. This is used with signs of wear, small tears, wrinkles, stains, and bends. On the back, several stains and small holes are visible, which are not as noticeable on the front. Therefore, we placed a piece of pink paper where the holes are to make them more visible; otherwise, they do not show up and they do not distract from the image.

USPS Stamp Yearbooks and More

Two (2) Side-Notch Arrowheads from the Obie Site

Offered are two Columbia River side-notch arrowheads found by Frank Buehler at the Obie Site on the Columbia River. This is a well-known site where the Oregon Archaeological Society members worked in the 1950s and 60s near The Dalles, Oregon. The smaller one is 1-1/8" x 9/16" and the larger one is 1-1/2" x 3/4" and both are made from agate.

Adlake Railroad Lamp from Chicago

Up for bid is an Adlake Non Sweating Kerosene Railroad Lamp. This is an old four-way lamp with two red lenses, one blue lens, and one yellow/amber lens. All the lenses are tight in their rings with no signs of damage. The lamp is 13-1/2" tall on an 8" diameter base; the lamp stands just over 19" tall from the base to the top of the handle. The wick freely moves up and down and the fuel can was still holding fuel; therefore, we pulled the fuel can and wick to empty the fuel. The paint is original and displays well. The base has a one-inch square hole cut into it with the tab of metal folded back. Everything else looks original and ready to use or display.

Pair of Ballantine Flat Top Beer Cans

This lot features a pair of 12-ounce flat top cans from P. Ballantine & Sons of Newark, New Jersey. The first can is a bottom-opened Ballantine XXX Ale Can. The second is an air-filled display can for Ballantine Light Lager Beer and has an embossed lid that reads "DISPLAY EMPTY." Both cans are clean indoor cans with case dings and small flaws. The metallic finish on both cans is still bright and crisp.

The smaller pencil is marked "Sample #436" while the larger one is from the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Russellville, Kentucky and has some fading or wear to the lettering.

Brew 66 Special Draft Beer Sign

This lot is for an old beer sign for Brew 66 Beer from Sicks' Century Brewery in Seattle, Washington. The sign is made of a painted molded or pressed resin- or fiberboard-like material that really shows a lot of detail. The sign features a bartender offering a mug of Brew 66 beer with a large image of an old wooden keg behind him The sign is approximately 20-1/2" tall x 14" wide x 1" deep. There is some paint loss to the lower portion of the wood grain bar in places and some red missing from the "66" on the keg. Still, this sign presents well.

Three (3) Pairs of Coors Ceramic Salt and Pepper Shakers

This lot is for three (3) pairs of Coors Golden Beer yellow ceramic salt and pepper shakers: one pair each of the longneck, jug, and keg styles. There is some overall wear, and only one jug has the cork. These are often referred to as Coors-ware and were made by the Coors Porcelain Company of Golden, Colorado, which is a company founded with the help of Coors Brewing Company after World War I.

American, Canadian, and Mexican Silver Rounds

Baseball Card Vending Machine

This lot is for an all original circa 1965 card vending machine made by Oak Manufacturing Company, Inc. in Los Angeles, California. The machine has its original red paint and is in working order. The machine has a five-cent coin mechanism and dispensed 3-6 cards per nickel. There are a couple set screws that adjust the opening size to allow a different number of cards to be vended. The machine will vend any type of sports card such as baseball, hockey, basketball or football cards and is complete with a working lock and key. The machine is 17-1/8" tall x 6-1/2" wide x 6-1/2" deep and shows signs of use with nicks, scratches, and fading to the paint. Included with the machine is an extra 25-cent coin mechanism and the card weights.

12-Ounce Rainier Jubilee Flat Top Beer Can

This is the third of three different Rainier jubilee beer cans in this auction. This is a 12-ounce can from Sicks' Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington and is an air-filled display can. This can is as nice as they get and was just being taken out of the six pack it was displayed in all these years. This can has the image of a large hand, some grain, and people harvesting and gathering hops. It is a wonderful rich black color with metallic highlights. This can has no case dings or flaws and even has a vanity lid!

Shell Oil Company 15 Year Service Award

Offer is the second of three different 10K Gold Shell Oil Company service awards. This one feature their scalloped shell design made of 10K yellow gold with a small ruby in the center and is attached to a chain on a gold tie bar. The shell is approximately 1/2" x 1/2" and the tie bar is 2-1/2" in length with the chain being 1-1/2" long. The shell is marked 10K and dated 1947 on the back and the tie bar is unmarked.

Goody Root Beer Bottle and Topper

This item was bottled under the authority of the Goody Company of Indianapolis, Indiana by Willow Springs Bottling Company of Omaha Nebraska. The ten-ounce bottle measures approximately 9-1/2" tall, and the topper, which is in the image of a bottle cap, measures approximately 5-5/8" wide x 7-1/2" tall. The combined set stands approximately 12-1/2" tall and the topper states to, "Drink Goody Root Beer, Golly, It's Good." The bottle was filled for pictures and will be shipped empty.

Pepsi-Cola Mechanical Pencils

Offered is a lithographed Pepsi Cola bus sign circa 1940. It has a young boy and girl both holding a paper label double dot Pepsi bottle and is titled "Big Shot". Size is 28'' x 11'' printed on heavy card stock. By the girls left leg it is artist signed by Whitney Darrow Jr. The sign looks like it was never used and has no tape marks or tack holes, only some discoloring or foxing to the bottom right corner below the Pepsi Cola logo.

Dallas Railway Company Photos

Offered are three different vintage railroad photos. The first is from Dallas Consolidated and Electric Street Railway Company, which operated from 1898-1917. The next two are both from the Dallas Railway Company, which was a combination of several companies that merged in 1917 and ran street cars until 1926. The photos show some of the equipment the companies used. All three photos are mounted on 12" x 14" cabinet cards with the photos being 8" x 10" in size. The cards show wear and all three have creased top right corners.

The Planters Salted Peanuts Tin

This large tin held ten (10) pounds of The Planters Pennant Brand salted peanuts from the Planters Nut and Chocolate Company. This black, blue, and red can measures approximately 9-1/2" tall x 8-1/4" diameter and does have dents, dings, and scratches due to age and use.

Inland Brewing Etched Beer Glass from Spokane

This is a pre-prohibition era etched beer glass from Inland Brewing & Malting Company in Spokane, Washington. This glass features an image of a compass-like design with hops and grains as part of the company logo. The glass is 3-3/4" x 2-1/4" and states "Queen of Bottled Beers." The glass is one of the few we have seen that has turned purple from age. This piece has a couple of fleabites on the inside back lip, a solid strike, and light wear.

Reddy Kilowatt Mechanical Pencils

Offered are two different vintage mechanical pencils that feature Reddy Kilowatt on them. Both pencils are in working order and are 5-1/4" long x 3/8" diameter.

Shell Oil Company 35 Year Service Award

Offer is the third of three different 10K Gold Shell Oil Company service awards. This one feature their scalloped shell design made of 10K yellow gold with three small diamonds in the center mounted on an Anson 12K gold filled tie clip. The shell is approximately 1/2" x 1/2" and the tie bar is 1-5/8" in length. The shell is marked 10K and dated 1963 on the back.

Canadian Ace Beer Cone Top Can

This lot is for a cone top beer can for Canadian Ace Brand Beer from Canadian Ace Brewing Company of Chicago, Illinois. There are several variations to this can; this one does not list an alcohol content like some of the other cans. The silver metallic finish is bright but has started to turn grey on the top band. The can has a few scratches and nicks as well. Still, this is a nice clean example of a cone top beer can.

Cudahy Puritan Ham Sign featuring Curly the Pig

Offered is a neat old 3-D embossed sign for Cudahy Puritan Ham featuring its mascot Curly. It has great raised and printed graphics made from a sheet of clear, soft plastic and has peel-and-stick strips of tape on the top and bottom to display the sign on any flat surface. This wonderful, unused sign is 17-1/2" x 14" and as nice as the day it was made circa 1960.

Three (3) New Orleans Morgan Silver Dollars

We saved the best of the silver dollars for last in today's auction. This lot is for three (3) consecutively dated United States Morgan silver dollars. The dates are 1898, 1899, and 1900 with all three having the "O" mint mark from the United States Mint in New Orleans. These are high grade coins with nice details, luster and shine. We never grade the coins we sell and will leave that to the winning bidder!
