WWII FP-45 "Liberator" Pistol Lot #51 (Sale Order 61 of 381) Appears to have not been fired-The Liberator pistol was manufactured by the United States military during World War II for use by resistance forces in occupied territories. The Liberator was never issued to American or other Allied troops and there is no documented instance of the weapon being used for its intended purpose, though the intended recipients, irregulars and resistance fighters, rarely kept detailed records due to the inherent risks if the records were captured by the enemy. Many FP-45 pistols were never distributed and were destroyed by Allied forces after the war; most of those distributed were lost or disposed of without any combat use. The FP-45 was a crude, single-shot pistol designed to be cheaply and quickly mass-produced. It had just 23 largely stamped and turned steel parts that were cheap and easy to manufacture. It fired a .45 caliber pistol cartridge from an unrifled barrel. Due to this limitation, it was intended for short range use, 1–4 yards (0–5 m). Its maximum effective range was only about 25 feet (7.6 m). At longer range, the bullet would begin to tumble and stray off course. This example is in excellent condition and is a rare WW2 period weapon-(FFL/C&R license or registered FFL dealer shipping address required)

SS Enlisted Dagger With Scabbard/Hanger-Scarce Maker-FA Helbig-RZM 1163/38 Lot #106 (Sale Order 133 of 381) Direct from WWII Vet Estate! Acquired from the family of Cpl. Melvin L. Smart Serial# 31318272 who served with the 110th AAA Gun Bn (Mobile) and landed on Omaha Beach (Assault Force B) on June 7, 1944-Cpl. Smart was discharged on Dec. 8 1945 at Fort Devens, Mass.-That being said...Cpl. Smart picked this dagger up during WW2 and brought it home-The SS Daggers made by Helbig are the rarest production SS daggers-Their contract only lasted for one year-The blade is double marked with the Helbig logo and then RZM 1163/38ss-The blade shows runner marks and a few age spots-The motto as well as the maker marks are very light and not very detailed as all known originals are-The blade still retains a lot of the original factory cross graining-The black ebony handle shows a lot of the grain and the aluminum grip eagle is mounted slightly off center. Again as other known originals-The lower and upper cross guards are cast iron with a chrome finish hence they are magnetic. The only maker to do this-The lower cross guard is much "fatter" than other SS daggers produced by other manufacturers-Original leather belt hanger with chrome clip marked RZM M5c/93 which was attached when the dagger was made-Black painted scabbard has the original finish showing slight age crazing and a few scratches-Original SS daggers that were produced by Helbig are much heavier than other SS daggers- This rare SS Dagger by Helbig only had a 1 year contract and was evidently cancelled due to the poor quality by this maker who did much better with Luftwaffe and other edged weapons! This is not a parts dagger! This dagger was brought back at the end of WW2 by a Normandy D-Day +1 US Veteran! Please see the other similar dagger by same maker that is offered in Lot # 88

Scarce Dachau Made SS Officer's Degen/Sword Lot #110 (Sale Order 137 of 381) These are quite scarce!-Dachau Made SS Officer's Degen/sword-Paul Müller was the maker of these swords at the Dachau forge. He was the first smith to use stainless steel in the manufacture of sword parts. As a result they have a more chrome-like appearance. The sword may or may not have the PMD/Rostfrei on the tang but we have not removed the pommel nut. Because of the differences in construction sometimes the Rostfrei appears on the blade-this one does not. Most of the Dachau blades were not marked at all. Very crude construction as was typical of these Dachau produced swords-This example has is not marked anywhere-The SS runic button has been crudely attached into the wire wrapped wood handle-The reverse of the grip is missing the center piece that covers where the wire wrap comes together on the reverse-The 13 rows of wire wrap is correct-The scabbard throat fitting is attached by 2 retaining screws that are flush in the fitting-The bottom fitting has been pressed on as was typical for SS and Police Officer's swords-Extremely late war sword-Overall measurement is 38" so this sword was made for an officer that would have been at least 6' + tall!

These were the higher administrative officers (Intendanten) in ranks from captain to lieutenant general; the lower administrative officers (Zahlmeister) in the ranks of first and second lieutenant, and the judge advocates (Richter) in ranks from captain to lieutenant general. At this time all personnel of the Field Post Office were made soldiers as well, but formed a corps of their own rather than belonging to the TSD. It was also made possible for qualified reserve technical service officials to become reserve officers of the motor maintenance troops." SHOULDER BOARDS..“With certain exceptions, military officials (de: Militär-Beamte) wore shoulder boards similar to those of soldiers of equivalent rank, but distinguished by the addition of dark green elements: those equivalent to generals had a central cord in their braided shoulder boards which incorporated green chevrons, and those equivalent to officers wore a narrow green stripe between the rows of braid. WO-equivalent officials wore a complex braided shoulder board made of green, black and silver cords. In nearly all cases the shoulder board underlay was a double layer of dark green under Nebenfarbe, and metal pins with the HV (Heeresverwaltung, Heer/ army administration) cipher were worn. Most officials wore in addition to their dark green Waffenfarbe a secondary color (Nebenfarbe) denoting their branch.”
