A GENTLEMAN'S BRITISH MILITARY W.W.W. RECORD WRIST WATCH CIRCA 1940s WITH MILITARY PROVENANCE D: Black dial with applied Arabic numerals & luminous markers, military arrow, subsidiary seconds. M: 15 jewel manual wind movement, signed Record, calibre 022 K. C: Military case with fixed bars, issue markings W.W.W. ^ L29700 547547, matching numbers on lug, case diameter measures approx 36mm. S: Leather strap. The original owner was a British Royal Marine and served in the conflict in Malay against the communists (''The Forgotten War''). He later moved to the Ordnance section, sailed on HMS Ceylon, stationed in Ceylon and also Tanganyika. The watch comes with an original photograph of him wearing the watch in Tanganyika, three driver's licenses from his time in Ceylon, Tanganyika & The Common Wealth and a military document from 1953.
