The flagship Mercedes in the 50?s was the full size 300 series. During its 10 year production run, there were two variations of Mercedes, the W186 and the W189. The second version of the 300 series went in to production from 1957 ? 1962 and often referred to as the ?Adenauer? named after the respected former German Chancellor Conrad Adenauer.
