The 964 Porsche was first introduced in mid-year 1989 as an improved version of the traditional air-cooled 911. Initially offered with all-wheel drive, by 1990 a two-wheel drive with optional Tiptronic version also became available. The reengineered coil over rear suspension changed the handling dynamics of the 964 dramatically, minimizing the classic 911 oversteer, yet still retaining that Porsche ride quality and that air-cooled engine tone familiar to so many Porsche aficionados. The interior was also redesigned with plush carpeting, contoured door panels and a full-length console. Exterior wise, the front, rear bumpers and rear taillight panel received a smooth ?Aero Look? and 928 S4 GT style disc wheels were fitted to the car.
