1975 Porsche Carrera

The name “Carrera” is synonymous with speed and victory for Porsche. It derives from the grueling week long race, The Carrera Panamericana” held each year in Mexico starting in 1950 which ran for 4 years. The race was run to commemorate the partially built Pan American Highway which ran from the Southern border of Texas and northern border of Mexico to the southern border of Mexico and northern border of Guatemala. Over the years Porsche racked up substantial class wins in the event and thus commemorating their wins by naming a car after it. This rare 1975 911 Carrera is in decent street condition. It retains its original red paint, graphics and bodywork. The rear whale tale and chin spoiler are correct for 1975. The owner of the fine jewel is a former factory trained Porsche mechanic. It has its original 2.7 litre magnesium case engine and 915 transmission. However for additional performance, an aftermarket turbo charge was professionally installed. This Carrera has a great looking stance, it has been lowered and rides on factory Fuchs 15x7” and 15x8” wheels. Although, the interior shows some wear, it is all correct and original in appearance; seats, dash, door panels and steering wheel, but not neglected. To keep things cool, it has aftermarket under the dash air conditioning. This is a good example of a period correct Porsche with reasonable modifications and could be used on the street as well as the track for club events. As a special note, this car was signed by one of Porsche’s greatest factory team drivers, Vic “Quick Vic” Elford.
