dating: second quarter of the 17th Century provenance: Southern Germany Closed helmet with skull in one piece, ribbed at the centre (a reparation on one side); pointed, raisable brim with hemmed border; ventail with sight and rectangular air holes; beaver with hooks; neck -and nape-guard with twisted roping; the surface painted in black while the borders haven't been coloured; restored, brass rivets. One-plate groget, brass rivets. Chest-plate ribbed at the centre, slightly projecting, neckline with thick, smooth roping; under the neckline remains of two stamps, one depicting a shield (Nuremberg?) and a rectangular one; smooth flange; gussets en suite with the neckline. Back-plate slightly hollow at the centre, with smooth roping, not coloured, the remaining surface in black. Nine-plate pauldrons, ribbed at the centre and connected to the upper arm though a relieved decoration; with recessed margin provided with smooth roping and blackened surface; brass rivets; on the upper part of both pauldrons the stamp "HB". Complete brassards; provided with elbow-pieces with central raiser, recessed bands and borders with smooth roping. Gauntlets with cuff decorated with raisers at the margins, eight plates at the back, scaled fingers; old gloves at the inside, brass rivets. Tassets held by buttons, with detachable knee-cops provided with wings; white borders, black surface. The armour is complete with a display pedestal, presented with a historicism rapier. dimensions: height totale circa 185 cm.
