1962 VOLKSWAGEN DOUBLE-CAB TRANSPORTER CUSTOM PICKUP

The VW Type 2 in double-cab configuration offered here was subject to a ground-up restoration and customization with absolutely no regard for expense. The body and paint was restored to very high standards including a custom-finished wood bed. The truck runs on a 2.4-liter Bergman engine with upright fan and delivers modern performance with 160hp on tap backed by 4-speed manual transmission and stops more appropriately with disc brakes mounted up front. The vehicle was treated to a full leather interior with materials sourced from Porsche including German square-weave carpeting. With tens of thousands of dollars in receipts every component part nut and bolt was meticulously restored and this double-cab has been driven just 200 miles since its completion.
