This 1962 Custom Corvette convertible is powered by a brand-new GM supercharged LT4 direct-injected 650hp engine mated to a new TCI 6-speed automatic transmission. With the push of a button you can access the optional paddle-shift mode. The engine includes custom headers connected to the complete 2-1/2 polished stainless-steel side-exiting exhaust. The car features an Art Morrison chassis which is completely powder-coated and includes compact independent rear suspension and C7 front suspension with fully adjustable ride height and JRI coilovers. Braking is handled by Wilwood brakes with stainless brake lines. The project started with a no-hit body which sat in storage since 1968. The paint was stripped off the body with the plastic media-blasting method. Customized rear quarters 1-1/2 wider than stock or factory made way for the 10-inch-wide Schott wheels and Pirellis P Zeros. The body features a fiberglass 2017 Z06-style louvered hood to aid in cooling. The interior and underside of the body are coated with ceramic Lizard Skin for heat and sound control. Additional heat shields were installed between the mufflers and the floor to control heat. The body is finished with Evercoat polyester primer and topped off with Dupont Arctic White base coat/clear coat. Other options include 1961-style side trim and a 1960 grille. The engine is cooled by a custom-built aluminum DeWitt radiator finished in black satin and the headers are jet-coated in black satin. The car also has a stainless-steel fuel tank. An Al Knoch Torch Red leather interior features heated reclining custom seats with power lumbar for added comfort and plenty of leg room. The car is cooled by Vintage Air. The interior includes power windows modern AM/FM Wonder Bar radio Dakota VHX analog instruments electric parking brake and electric hood opener. The trunk is completely finished in Torch Red leather and carpet. The project was completed in November 2017 and has been driven approximately 400 miles since completion.
