Exquisite museum exhibited Egyptian carnelian & amethyst beaded necklace with a central gold overlay delicately engraved ball bead (1/2"x 3/4") (Late Period) & 38 carnelian stones & 26 amethyst stones (range 1/8" - 3/8"). Strung with newe gold clasp on each end SIZE: 16 1/4" long DATE: 1800 - 300 BCE SIZE: 16 1/4" long CONDITION: Very good, no repairs or chips. NOTE: Josephine Dubois collected many carnelian & amethyst stones as noted in her journal during her travels in Egypt EXHIBITED: Metropolitan Museum NY 1920-38, Boston Fine Art 1945-60 #152.45 , Museum of Man, CA 1968 PROVENANCE: Goddard & Josephine Dubois U.S. Collection, acq. Egypt 1900-07. All copied museum paperwork furnished to winning bidder
