Mark Wheland copy of a Leonard Reedy raised carved fullstock flintlock Kentucky rifle. The curly maple stock has raised scrolls forward of the cheekrest and a large “C” with scroll behind it, a raised carved beavertail surrounding the barrel tang, molding around the lockplate, the sideplate, and the ramrod channel. There is a large 4-piece engraved patchbox, an engraved silver star on the cheekrest and a silver escutcheon on top of the wrist. It has a 50 caliber 42-1/4” octagon barrel signed on top “M. Wheland”. 58” overall. Excellent condition. (1,500-3,000).
