Item Details
Remington Zouave .58 caliber percussion rifled musket in very good plus to near fine condition with original bayonet and scabbard. The barrel shows 80% to 90% original blue that is toning and aging slightly and thereis some very light rust and just beginning erosion most of which may clean. The lock shows 50% case coloring going to a grayish patina with some rainbow colors still evident. The stock shows two good cartoucheson the left side and is very good plus overall showing one small area of fill to a dent or chip behind the tang which is approximately 5 mm in a round shape. The patch box contains extra nipple and ramrodtip. The edges of the ramrod channel are sharp with just a couple small losses. A correct type cleaning Rod is retained. The bores are fine to near excellent. The bayonet is inspector marked with a bright blade andthe scabbard shows some small repairs and cracking. The Zouave is one of the most attractive of Civil War weapons especially with saber bayonet. Est.: $2000 -$4000
