Item Details
Marlin Ballard single shot rifle with custom target barrel marked Geo. C. Schoyen Denver, Colorado, frame serial number 8068. The frame shows original to the period scroll type engraving. The gun is chambered for .32-40 caliber and remains in good to very good condition showing 75% original blue on the barrel and the frame shows a dulled old nickel plate of which about 75% remains. The stocks are original Ballard and are later refinished and also the butt plate has been re-nickeled. The barrel has been mounted with 2 scoped blocks. A changeable aperture front sight in original front dovetail and a venier type tang sight is included. The lever shows inset wood panels and the rifle is mounted with double set triggers. The action is good and the bore is bright with sharp rifling. From the estate of well-known local shooter and collector John Goodlad. Est.: $3,000-$6,000.
