Fine wool cap body with Forest Green felt band. Red piping for artillery. Metal eagle device and bullion wreath cockade. Cap body shows some soiling and minor moth tracking in a few spots but does not detract. Bullion chin cord also shows normal period wear. Interior crown celluloid sweat shield indicates the maker as being Wilhelm Kern of Freiburg. The original sweat band orange cork is still present. The underneath of the visor shows "finger" wear by the officer. The sweat band may have been period resewn. Nice solid "been there" example.
