Late war production pistol with "cyq" maker code for the firm of Spree Werke. The Spree Werke factory had the lowest production of wartime P38 pistols with Walther producing the most, then Mauser and then Spree Werke. Appears to be original finish which exhibits light holster wear to the slide and barrel edges. The front of the grip shows finish wear from handling. All matching numbers with Eagle/88 Waffenampt stampings. Scarce black Bakelite grip variant. Bore is strong. The clip we believe to be original WWII period with Waffenampt and "jvd" stampings but appears to have been possibly refinished. The bottom of the clip exhibits pitting.
