These rare bayonets were constructed to be mounted on bamboo poles for use in defense of the Japanese home islands and are truly the epitome of a last ditch war effort. This bayonet is missing the cut for the bayonet lug and lock by design. Bayonet has rough, blued blade with pointy tip. Ricasso is marked with the rare maker's mark of the Jinsen Arsenal in Korea. Blade measures 15.75" in length. Crossguard is straight with a muzzle ring on both sides for mounting on bamboo poles more easily. Wood grips are in very good condition. Wooden scabbard is in rough condition with some cracks near the tip. Bayonet measures 20" overall. A very rare find and an excellent example of the desperation of the Japanese war effort near the end of WWII. Must see photos.
