dating: last quarter of the 17th Century provenance: Brescia Smooth, two-stage, 17 mm cal. barrel, octagonal with fluted decorations, then round, with rings at the girdle, moulded muzzle; lock with slightly roundish plate featuring remains of floral engravings and outlines, signed "Carlo Lafrancho" at the centre; the screw of the hammer chiselled with petals; wooden full stock (small restorations); iron mounts, roundish butt-plate, barrel brackets with rings, flat counter-plate; iron-tipped wooden ramrod. Carlo Laffranco (born in 1620) is documented in Brescia in 1686. Buoni Cavriago", engraved and chiselled with floral motifs; wooden stock with horn muzzle (restoration), slightly sculpted, with iron mounts decorated with chiselled rosettes, pierced counter-plate. Horn-tipped wooden ramrod. For Giovanni di Domenico Buoni see Barbiroli, page 143. Buoni is documented in Cavriago (Reggio Emilia) in last quarter of the 17th and beginning of 18th Century. The same signature is featured on a modern-like lock, 1680 circa (Fischer 1998). dimensions: length 39 cm.

Locks (reconverted to flintlock) with external safety on the hammer and small engravings, one of the plates features remains of the signature "H NOCK". Wooden full stock with checkered neck. Iron mounts, engraved with trophies and floral motifs. Horn-tipped iron ramrod with iron cartridge extractor. Belt hooks. dating: first quarter of the 18th Century provenance: Spain Smooth, three-stage barrels, octagonal at the first part with marks of Nicolas Bis in gold (Stöckel no. 70 and 71) between lilies and the inscription "EN MADRID ANO DE 1724", two segments of sixteen faces, nozzle with moulded muzzle; engraved tangs; miquelet locks, on the plate the mark of Nicolas Bis and gentle engravings; wooden full stocks carved near the tags; silver mounts (small parts missing) deeply engraved with floral motifs, behind the locks the holes that used to keep the fabric protections; iron belt hooks with a heart-shaped hole on the tip; wooden ramrod with horn and bone tip, iron cartridge extractor. See "Der Neue Stöckel", Vol. I, page 105. Nicolas Bis is documented in Madrid from 1692 until his death in 1726. From 1713 he exclusively worked for the court of Philip V of Spain, first member of the House of Bourbon. This pair of pistols, made a short time before his death, was most likely created for a member of the Royal Court. dimensions: length 32 cm.

A fine pair of Lepage over and under barreled pistols for a Senior Officer

dating: second quarter of the 19th Century provenance: France Twisted, two-stage, 18 mm cal. barrels, octagonal at the base and faceted, featuring remains of the antique finishing; the upper barrel provide with a small foresight at the back and the signature "F.ni PAR LEPAGE"; between the barrel a rib on each side, on the right one two ramrod holders and the iron ramrod. The tang entirely engraved with floral motifs and provided with a wide sight. Elegant percussion locks, with backward spring, plate with an engraved frame at the margin and a cartouche at the centre featuring the signature "F.ni PAR LE LEPAGE", floral motifs all around; the hammers finely decorated with floral pattern on the neck. The nipples on strongly relieved bases placed on the sides of the barrels and provided with quadrangular spark arrester. Briarwood butts with fine veins (one slightly restored), checkered grip. Iron mounts; the trigger guard finely engraved with floral motifs en suite with the ones on the hammers and the locks, slightly relieved at the borders; roundish butt-plates engraved with a frame at the border and a flower at the centre, both provided with a loop. Fine pair of pistols certainly created for an important officer by the famous Lepage manufacture. dimensions: length 32 cm.

Interesting mechanic inside the butt, with rear hammer slightly off-centre and provided at the base with a plaque chiselled with racemes. Wooden grip finely chiselled with net pattern enclosing flowers with iron buttons (some missing), butt-plate with a ring for the strap, iron trigger guard chiselled en suite with the other mounts.
