Bisque head elderly lady with smiling face, well modeled wrinkles, applied long white curls, applied brown bonnet with applied lacy brim (a small piece of lace missing from left side), original sitting cloth body with beautifully modeled bisque hands and legs with molded black hose and shoes. Original clothing with layered undies, cotton dress, red cape with green silk ribbon trim. Holding a tray with her wares displayed. Sitting in an appropriate wooden rocking chair. German china girl with molded black curly and wavy hair, tapered eyebrows, molded eyes with black eyelash line and red eyelid line, closed mouth with white space between lips, chin dimple. Original fantastic blue and white beaded dress with yoke and puffed sleeves. It is made entirely of beads. Tiny chip on one pinkie finger, otherwise no damage noted. Dome included. Very rare to find this type of dress. How remarkable! Size 9" T.

She wears an antique brown mohair wig with side part, antique, possibly original, white cotton and lace dress with cutwork design, antique white leather shoes with Keystone logo, as well as antique lace and silk ribbon bonnet. Spectacular French Fashion Attributed to Jumeau.

Lot # 7 (Sale Order: 7 of 667)      

This socket head with blue glass eyes, smiling highlighted mouth, multi stroke brow and tiny lashes, separately applied ears, mounted to bisque shoulder plate with kid lined neck socket. This doll is often referred to as the "Portrait Jumeau". Mounted to the original all white kid leather body with gussets at elbows, hips and knees and dressed in a two piece pale green taffeta walking suit with original pleated trim and bow decorations, most likely original. The wig is lovely blond antique mohair over cork pate and she also has a small straw and cloth flowered bonnet which is well coordinated with the costume. Condition is very good; some very minor pitting on head. Size: 24"T.

Smiling Bru French Fashion.

Lot # 8 (Sale Order: 8 of 667)      

Lovely pale bisque socket head incised "G" with small inset light blue threaded eyes, smiling mouth, mounted to separate bisque shoulder which is in turn mounted to a nice gusseted leather body with joints at hips and knees and having wooded arms which are articulated at the shoulder, hips and wrists. She wears her original factory chemise covered by an antique black silk 1870's style walking dress with pleated trim and velvet; white leather gloves, underwear appears to be antique as do the carl leather fashion boots with rosettes. The wig is pale golden mohair over original cork pate and hat is dark blue velvet with feathers. Condition good; old hairline crack running from neck socket, through right cheek ending at lower eye rim. Size: 16-1/2" T.

Rare Flirty Eyed 27" Jumeau Bebe.

Lot # 9 (Sale Order: 9 of 667)      

Unusual French doll with an all incised markings, "Tete Jumeau Bte S.G.D.G.". She has brown glass eyes, and in the back of the head their is an inverted "T" cut out with a lever which allows the eyes to be manually controlled to allow the eyes to both sleep and flirt from one side to the other. She is on her originally fully jointed wood and composition body with a green stamp on the torso reading "Bebe Jumeau, Diplome D'Honneur". She has her original marked brown leather shoes, impressed on the soles "12 Paris Depose" with the so called "Bee" logo as well as her original red Jumeau socks. She wears a white cotton dress and antique underwear and has a very nice, possibly original, blonde mohair wig over original cork pate, and nice straw hat with black silk ribbon. Very good condition with slight typical chipping of paint to fingers. Condition (Very Good). Size 27" T.

Another feature is the elaborate black hair ribbon with gold luster trim. The body is old stuffed muslin with mitten style hands, wearing a green and black silk plaid dress with narrow waist, large sleeves and long tassels in front. Rare All Original 14" China Doll with China Limbs

Wonderful all original China shoulder head doll with creamy complexion, having brown hair with center part, pulled back exposing the ears with a single spit curl behind each with the rest of the hair drawn up into a tight braided bun in back. She is on a firm leather body, with long china arms as well as china legs, with bare feet. This body appears to be unique to this particular doll and could possibly be Royal Copenhagen. She wears a well fitted plaid wool two piece costume with silk scarf and there is a first place ribbon from a UFDC Convention from 1964. Condition (Excellent).

Lot of 2: Twin Fashion Dolls.

Lot # 14 (Sale Order: 14 of 667)      

Lovely pair of near identical dolls attributed to Barrois. With blue glass inset eyes, closed mouth, with bisque heads that swivel on separate bisque shoulder plates, mounted leather bodies with gussets at the hips and knees, both with long elegant bisque forearms with well detailed fingers. Both have old human hair wigs with up swept hair in front and braids pinned to the top of the head. They are dressed in similar costumes of pale green silk, one with blue silk ribbon trim and the other faded pink silk ribbon trim and lace. Both also wear antique under garments and very nice antique brown leather fashion boots, similar but not identical. Condition is very good; one doll has slight white speak on right cheek; some age deterioration to wigs. Size:Each: 15 – ¼” T.

She is on an old muslin body with brown leather forearms with individually delineated fingers. Rare China with Exposed Ears.

Lovely early 1840's era pink luster shoulder head with brown painted wavy hair framing face but allowing ears to be exposed and pulled into a tight coiled bun in back. She has red eye liner, pink rosy cheeks and slight smiling expression. Body is stuffed muslin with long elegant china forearms and legs with black molded and painted boots with brown painted soles and lavender painted garters. Costume appears antique if not original and consists of a two piece dress with separate jacket, oversized sleeves and ruffled skirt with turquoise trim. Undergarments are all old and she has a red ribbon from UFDC in 1962. Condition is very good with slight loss of glaze to nose tip and some pitting and glaze lines on lower legs. Size: 18 – ½” T.

Rare 17" French Fashion with Gutta Percha Body.

Lovely bisque socket head, unmarked, on separate bisque shoulder plate, on rare jointed gutta percha body with blue stamp on torso "Poupee Brevete Paris". The doll has a lovely unusual face with slight smile, bulbous blue paperweight eyes, pierced earlobes, and wears an antique printed pleated silk dress with torquoise ribbon trim. The wig is brown human hair with braids and bangs in addition she has a lovely straw hat and flat black leather shoes. Condition: overall very good however there is a significant chip to front edge of neck socket of the shoulder plate, a minor one in the back the shoulder plate at neck edge, and also a surface chip on the left side of the neck at the mold line.

Meg’s head tilts and her blonde hair is styled in a snood with braided pink ribbons across the top, gold cord, and tassels at each side; she wears a brown gown with lacy flounces. Jo’s dark brown hair is styled with a coil of braids in back with a green band across the top of her hair; her green silk dress is shredding, one earring needs to be reattached. Beth’s shoulder-length brown curls are topped by twin braids caught in back with a blue bow; she wears a beautiful aqua silk dress, tiny smudge on her nose. Amy’s blonde hair is styled with a cascade of curls in the back with a black band around her head featuring applied pink roses above her ear, tiny smudge on her cheek; she wears a rosebud print wool dress. 12" China Doll with Rare Molded Bonnet.

1850's era glazed china shoulder head with molded and pate facial features with long black curls touching the shoulder in back, covered by a white smooth bonnet with ridged front and tied under the chin. The body is possibly a mid 20th century replacement and is stuffed muslin with china arms and legs with molded and painted shoes. She has been redressed in all antique fabric and outer corset is cinching the waist. Condition (Very Good). Size 12" T.
