- Pearl white with Pigalle red leatherette interior
- Cosmetic as well as mechanical restoration
- Vintage 60s style radio
- Roof rack
- Exterior side view mirror
- Runs and drives beautifully drive it anywhere!
Who cant recall owning or at least riding in an early Volkswagen Beetle? Even though it is one of Ferdinand Porsches best designs and is of course German made, the Bug is a part of Americana.
If you have ever owned a 1966 Beetle, you probably have a feel for the things that made it special. There were some unique changes in the 1966 model year. The emergency flasher on the dash in 1966 was a one-year-only change, while other improvements, like the suspension, were more long-term changes that were incorporated into the Beetle. The 1966 model was also the only year for the 1300 engine and the last year of the 6-volt electrical system. At 50 horsepower you would think it would barely get out of its own way, but remember it only weighed 1,672 lbs!
Offered here is a wonderful, fun to drive 66 finished in Pearl White (paint code 687 13) over Pigalle red leatherette (code 75) interior. No better combination for an early Bug. Recently completed rebuild of the 1300cc motor makes this the perfect weekend car to drive anywhere. Oh yes, if you take it on a long trip, it comes with the optional roof rack for those extra bags!!

1973 Porsche 914
Lot # 104 (Sale Order: 4 of 43)
- Fabulous original car
- Meticulously maintained
- Never modified
- Rare 5 speed transmission
Since the demise of the 356 in 1965, Porsche relied on the 912 essentially a 4-cylinder 911 as its entry level model but they needed an all-new car to attract young buyers to their showrooms. Concurrently, VWs flagship Karmann-Ghia was proving very expensive to build and due for replacement. Porsches Ferdinand Piech had the idea of a joint venture between the two companies; one sports car could be built and offered with the choice of flat-four or flat-six engines. VW would market and sell the 4-cylinder cars while the 6-cylinder cars would be sold as entry level Porsches. Porsche lacked the money to develop the car, so an old verbal agreement was brought into play that would see VW financing the tooling and manufacturing. As the 914 project was well into its development, the chairman of VW died, paving the way for a new chairman who had no such loyalty to an old handshake agreement. VW pulled the financial plug on the 914 and Porsche was stuck with the bill to develop and build the new sports car, causing the price to rise dangerously close to that of the 911.
While the 914 had a difficult gestation, it did prove to be a brilliant little car: Light, fuel efficient and even practical with two trunks and a removable roof panel. The mid-engine design contributed to perfectly balanced handling. The 914-6 found success in motorsports, and could have done more had it not come dangerously close to outperforming the 911. In spite of high prices and the stigma of being considered a rebadged VW when new, the 914 sold well between 1969 and 1976. Todays enthusiasts have finally recognized the 914 as a true Porsche and an all-time great drivers car.
This 1973 914 1.7 has been kept in remarkably original condition, believed to have been carefully stored for 35 years by a previous owner. It just takes one look to see this is a truly superb 914. The Zambezi Green paint is excellent and the bodywork is straight and absolutely solid. Rubber trim and seals are all intact and supple. Even the typical trouble spots in the trim around the rear window and tail lamps show zero evidence of decay. Opening the rear trunk reveals a correct trunk mat, original jack, and even the insulation pad which is nearly impossible to find in one piece. Even the vulnerable original fog lamps and grilles are in perfect order. The interior trim in fine original condition with no rips tears or cracks. The 1.7L engine runs strong and maintains the original fuel injection system. Correct Michelin tires on original steel wheels give this 914 a pleasing look and accentuate the light and direct handling. This is easily one of the finest original 914s available today.

The company continued to sell the 356 C in North America through 1965 as demand for the model remained quite strong in the early days of the heavier and more civilized 911. The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia was first introduced in 1955 as a stylish sports car in the VW line-up. Sharing the Beetles reliable running gear, it was economical to produce and resembled its famous race winning brethren the Porsche 356. VW contracted Ghia of Turin, Italy to design the car while the coachwork was hand built by the renowned German firm of Karmann. In 18 years, nearly half a million were manufactured including convertible models. Over the years, as with most long lived production models, subtle changes were made to update the outward and interior looks and appeal of the little Ghias, as well as running gear improvements. 1973 was the first year for the redesigned bumpers, marker lights and rear taillights. Sadly, the Karmann Ghias last year of production was 1974. This Ghia benefits from a fresh metallic paintjob, new leatherette upholstery and new wide whitewall tires. The car is in excellent condition with books and records; It has been driven only 15000 mile since new and has the optional sportamatic transmission. The Karmann Ghia is easily recognizable in virtually every town in America, and there is a strong appreciation amongst collectors alike.

1959 Porsche 356 Convertible D
Lot # 113 (Sale Order: 13 of 43)
- Rare Convertible D
- Outlaw Look
- Derrington Wood Wheel
- Runs Excellent
- Sport muffler
The Porsche Speedster is the most iconic Porsche of all times. Popularized in movies and owned by celebrities like James Dean and Clark Gable. By 1958 speedster sales were slowing down, so the powers to be at Porsche decided to revamp the little car. By changing to a full windscreen, redesigning the convertible top assembly, adding roll-up windows and conventional seats, the character of the little car was transformed to a more practical daily driver. Only 1,330 or so Convertible Ds were made for the 1959 model year, and therefore holds the distinction as being one of the rarer production Porsche 356 models built. This 356 Convertible D has quite an austere stance, sort of Outlaw style. Outlaw referring to a non-factory, non-conforming look or appearance; its an attitude among 356ers. The car has been repainted blue and the deco strips, side spears and bumper guards deleted. Other noticeable modifications include an aftermarket sport exhaust, Talbot style side racing mirror and a Derrington style aftermarket steering wheel. All factory parts included. According to the Kardex, the car was ordered originally in Ruby Red, reclining seats and a short ratio speedster transaxle. The engine may not be original to the car but it runs out fine. There are three versions of the pyramid 3-gauge dash cars, Speedsters, Convertible Ds and Roadsters. Convertible Ds are highly sought after and have tremendous upside.

- Matching Number Engine
1977 was the 2nd year that the Porsche 930 was available in the USA. Regarded as a Genuine German Super-Auto, only 2,873 left the factory. For the most part the 1977 930 remained unchanged from the previous year and still had the fast and menacing wide body look with the original style Whale Tail and 240 hp 3.0 litre Turbo charged flat 6cyl. However for 1977, Porsche did change the wheels from 15 inch to 16 inch wheels and Pirelli P7 tires. The Silver 930 presented here has had some modest upgrades. Since the original 3 litre was somewhat anemic by todays standards, the original engine was beefed up by adding a large inner cooler and a super tune-up. The interior is nice and stock and has the optional sport seats. This 930 has only been driven 52 thousand miles in its lifetime. Other distinguishing features and upgrades are after-market wider Fuchs style wheels, 84-up style front bumper and lower valance, Euro rear bumper strips, tail lights and headlights, radial ac compressor and finally a 78-up style Coffee Table whale tail making the total package pretty exciting. This 1977 930 Porsche has had all the necessary mods perform to make the Turbo either a great daily driver or a fun track car.

This 1968 911 is a beautiful example of Porsches grand touring sports car. Now in its fourth year of production and racking up checkered wins on the race courses across the globe. For 1968, Porsche 911s lineup remained pretty much unchanged. Although in the US, due to emissions compliance the 911S was substituted with the nearly as powerful 911L, a luxury replacement for the 911S. The engine displacement for 1968 also remained unchanged, still at 2.0 litres and 130 hp on the 911L (Luxury) US only models. This standard 911 Zuffenhausen screamer is presented in Pastel Blue, reminiscent of the famous Gulf Blue race livery colors that dominated the racing circuits across Europe for nearly a decade. It is showroom stock looking; the original chrome steel wheels and caps were replaced with a rare set of factory deep 15×6 Fuchs wheels. The body is straight and the paintwork has a good finish suitable for a daily driver or any local car show activities. The interior is factory stock black leatherette upholstery and has tinted windows. Some other accessories featured on this sporty 911 are, side marker lights and factory optional Hella 128 fog lights. Porsche was not the first company to use a turbocharger on their car, but certainly the most notable. Beginning in the early 1970s the company was quick to adapt turbocharging to its 934 and 935 racing coupes and then apply the technology to the ferocious production 930. This particular example 930 is finished in Guards Red with a nice contrasting black leather interior. This Turbo has most of the factory options including optional sport seats, sunroof, alarm system, limited slip and a Fitipaldi sport leather wrapped steering wheel. The original stock 282 hp 3.3 litre turbo charged flat six has been modified with internal upgrades, larger turbo and twin tipped exhaust. This Turbo was owned by former race car driver and Daytona 24 Hr winner Jochen Rohr. Throughout the later 1970s and into the 1980s, the 930 evolved into an ever-more sophisticated, luxurious, and powerful road car that would be very suitable for club track events or weekend cruising.
