European Double-Barrel Flintlock Shotgun

Lot # 663 (Sale Order: 326 of 1143)      

12 ga., 34" barrels. Brass furniture, walnut stock with the checkered wrist.

Condition: Barrel is mostly grey to brown with some light pitting blending in. Locks have been refinished. Stock has been refinished. Overall good.

Flintlock Pistol by Rouhette AzLiege

Lot # 664 (Sale Order: 327 of 1143)      

.570 bore diameter, 7" barrel length. Marking on the lock "Rouhette AzLiege". Engraved iron furniture with walnut stock. Raised carving behind the tang.

Condition: All iron furniture has a gray blending to a dark patina. The stock is good but does show nicks and dings. Smooth with some pitting.

Italian Flintlock Pistol by Amoretti

Lot # 665 (Sale Order: 328 of 1143)      

.600 bore diameter, 11.5" barrel length. Marking next to trigger "Amoretti". Brass furniture with iron lock, hammer, frizzen, frizzen pan and barrel. Walnut stock with raised carving behind the tang.

Condition: The brass furniture has a nice mustard patina. The barrel lock and lock plate have a gray to dark patina. The stock is good but does show nicks and dings. There is a crack at the wrist and some repairs on the stock along the barrel. Smooth bore with pitting.

18th Century Horse Bit Attributed to Revolutionary Patriot Col. Jacob Klock

Lot # 667 (Sale Order: 330 of 1143)      

Brass covered iron bit with attached old typewritten label reading "Bit used by horse belonging to Gen. (sic) Klock, for dress parade, during Revolutionary Muster days in the Mohawk valley." Colonel Jacob Klock (1701 - 1798) was a militia officer, farmer and tavern keeper near the Mohawk village of Canajoharie. He was disliked by the pro-British Mohawks who, under the leadership of Joseph Brant, ran him out of town. He fought at the Battle of Oriskany and served as the Chairman of the Tryon County (New York) Committee of Safety.

Condition: Good. Dark patina finish, paper tag yellow with age.

Flintlock Trade Pistol By Sharpe

Lot # 668 (Sale Order: 331 of 1143)      

.58 caliber, 8" round brass smooth bore barrel. Top of barrel marked in three lines: EXTRA / SHARPE / PROOF. Flat trade style iron flint lock, flat cock with angular body and neck, rounded pan, marked SHARPE. Brass furniture, wood stock, wood rammer.

Condition: Good. Barrel with rich umber patina, and good but oxidized bore. Lock functional with thick brown patina, tip of frizzen spring broken and top jaw missing. Stock in good condition with usual bumps and dings.

French. Black leather box with drilled wood block insert, implement pouch on the box front, flap pierced for insignia. Complete with most straps and buckles, flap closure billet broken. Includes white buff leather shoulder sling with bayonet frog and black leather scabbard with brass tip. Includes a Model An IX socket bayonet with 17.75" blade.

Condition: Good. Some crazing and edge wear on the leather finish. Implement pouch torn. Bayonet with moderate scattered age spotting.

Lot of 3 19th Century Hunting Bags with Horns and one Knife

Lot # 671 (Sale Order: 334 of 1143)      

Includes a large leather pouch with sling, brass plate on the flap stamped "T.A.H.", lacks buckle. Second pouch of rough out black leather with a beaver tail flap, powder horn, carved wood measure and bone handle skinning knife with a scabbard on the sling. Third pouch of enameled canvas with leather sling, powder horn and measure. Lot also includes a 10.5" storage horn with the pour hole in the center of the body wood ends and brass tacks, and a contemporary small priming horn.

Condition: Poor to good. Second pouch has a broken sling. All show heavy service wear.

Matching pair of black hard molded leather holsters with brass end caps and tooled brown leather connecting yoke. Has blue wool covered flaps trimmed with gold toned tooled leather and gilt floral discs, edges bound in leather and lined in natural linen.

Early Fur Covered Hunting Bag with Knike, Horn, Gang Mold and Bearskin Mittens

Lot # 674 (Sale Order: 337 of 1143)      

Pouch of hairy cow hide with beaver tail flap, retains much of the red hair finish. Has a skinning knife with a 6" blade and antler grip in a sheath on the back of the pouch. Lot also includes a 6.5" plain powder horn, a brass and iron gang mold for two different size buck and ball round shot and a pair of black bear fur mittens lined in corduroy.

Condition: Fair to good. Pouch sling broken and repaired. Wear and some loss on the open edge of the mittens.

Percussion Pistol By J.G. Stutsman, Dayton Ohio

Lot # 677 (Sale Order: 340 of 1143)      

.58 caliber 9" round brass barrel. Percussion lock marked J.G. Stutsman / Dayton / Ohio in three lines. Brass barrel marked with post-1813 Birmingham commercial proof marks at breech and LONDON on top. Appears to be a period American restock of a British trade pistol barrel using a combination of an American lock, English furniture, and locally made American furniture. Brass mounts throughout, figured wood stock, wooden ramrod with brass tip.

Condition: About good. Brass barrel with deep, dark, uncleaned patina. Lock with dark brown patina and clear markings. Possible conversion from flint to percussion. Lock functional with no half-cock. Brass furniture with medium golden rod patina. Stock good, with crack at lock mounting screw on stock flat.

Percussion Deringer

Lot # 678 (Sale Order: 341 of 1143)      

.41 caliber, 3 1/4" round barrel with top flat. Breech marked in two lines DERINGER / PHILADELPHIA. Back action percussion lock lightly engraved and marked the same as the barrel. German silver mounts, wood stock with checkered grip.

Condition: Good. Medium gray metal with age spotting and scattered minor surface oxidation. Bore is dark and dirty with pitting. Mechanically functional. German silver mounts with milky patina. Stock solid with numerous bumps and dings, but retaining good checkering at the grip.

20.75" unmarked double-edged blade. Brass hilt has a broad "D" guard, eagle embossed pommel and fish scale patterned grip, lacking scabbard.

Condition: Good. Blade has some cleanable surface rust on the ricasso, overall gray spotting and an area of dents on the left side near the upper edge. Hilt with light age toning.

Model 1832 US Artillery Short Sword and Scabbard by Ames

Lot # 682 (Sale Order: 345 of 1143)      

19" double-edged blade with fullers, ricasso marked and dated "UNITED STATES / 1835" on one side, a partially legible Ames two-line address on the other. Cast brass hilt has a straight cross guard, fish scale patterned grip and eagle embossed pommel. Complete with brass mounted black leather scabbard, lacking the frog stud on the throat.

Condition: Good. Blade bright with light age toning and covered in a thin layer of protective lacquer. Hilt has scattered age spots. Scabbard has moderate crazing on the leather finish and minor dents on the metal fittings.
