serial #165540A, 38-40, 24" octagon barrel with full magazine and a near excellent bore that is bright and shows just a little light oxidation. This rifle remains in very nice condition. The barrel retains about 85% evenly thinning original blue finish overall with a couple small patches of light surface oxidation and one small patch of pitting on left side near the nosecap. The magazine tube is more of a rich brown patina with just traces of original blue present. The action retains about 80% original blue which shows some light even flaking and with those flaked areas showing a smooth brown patina, there are also some light striations in the finish which are also smooth brown. The hammer and lever retain lots of original color case-hardened finish while the loading gate retains about 50% original blue blending with a smooth brown patina. The plain walnut buttstock and forend rate excellent with 90% original finish remaining and with just light handling marks present. A correct and probably original four-piece iron cleaning rod is present in butt. The rifle is sighted with standard open barrel sights. Exceptional U.S. Model 1911 Government Model Colt Pistol Manufactured In 1912

Lot # 9 (Sale Order: 9 of 718)

serial #6408, 45 ACP, 5" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this lovely Colt pistol retain about 97 to perhaps near 98% original blue, the loss is due to some light high edge wear, slight fading on the front and back strap and some sparsely scattered, very light scratches and handling marks from the years. Trigger, magazine release, slide stop and safety all show be slightly lighter pale toned blue, which is fading somewhat but still vibrant under high-bright light. There is a reassembly scratch on the left side of the frame and the slide stop shows some pitting, it could easily be replaced if one wished or perhaps even dressed by someone who knew what they were doing and could properly reblue the component; it is of little consequence on this nice pistol. The diamond checkered walnut grips rate very good plus to excellent with some light flattening of the points at right, the left grip showing a small chip from its leading edge near the inspector stamping and a ding in the lower diamond. The early barrel is "sideways-H" inspector stamped on the rear edge of the hood, Walter Penfield's marking is prominent on left of frame and included is a single two-tone Colt lanyard loop magazine with pinned base which rates very good plus. Overall this is a very lovely 1912-manufactured Colt Government Model pistol shipped in September 1912 in a 500 gun shipment to the Commanding Officer, Springfield Armory; an excellent example of these very early 1911's. The right side of the frame is correctly marked "U.S. PROPERTY" and all markings remain crisp. The pistol includes a factory letter dated October 18, 2010 indicating the gun was shipped as described above but with blue finish. Interesting Late War K98K Bolt Action Rifle by Mauser Oberndorf With K98V Rear Sight

Lot # 11 (Sale Order: 11 of 718)

serial #22, 8mm Mauser, 24" barrel with an excellent bore. The receiver, bands, rear sight, bolt and barrel of this byf 45 coded rifle retain 90-93% original phosphate with thinning and silvering on bands and barrel, some fading on receiver and light oxidation staining on cocking piece. The in-the-white floorplate and enlarged triggerguard remain mostly bright with some sparse scattered oxidation staining, and buttplate also has some sparse minor oxidation staining. The laminated stock rates near excellent with a few handling marks and light dings and a faint number on the right sight of butt that appears to read "1022". The bolt parts are mismatched and the bolt handle appears to be marked with a "(Eagle)/140" Waffenamt, the rear sight knob is numbered "9" and there are no other visible numbered parts. The rifle lacks a handguard but it is fitted with a K98V rear sight assembly which is graduated from 100 to 500 meters and was also made with a counterbored muzzle. This rifle is pictured on Pg. 98 of Michael Steve's and Bruce Karem's monumental book Kreigsmodell where the book states that: "SN 22 is, from all appearances, a test for the K98V rear sight assembly and corresponding counterbore modification. Built on a standard 'byf45' action that has final acceptance and is within the first 100 rifles coded 'byf45', this rare example is likely from a very limited batch of modified standard K98k's." A very interesting and scrace rifle for the military collector. (207879-86) {C&R} [Craig Brown Collection]

Late War K98K Bolt Action Rifle by Waffen Werke Brunn I With Scarce Sheet Metal Rear Sight

Lot # 12 (Sale Order: 12 of 718)

serial #75754a, 8mm Mauser, 24" barrel with a very good plus bore that shows a couple spots of light oxidation in the grooves. The metal surfaces of this swp45 coded rifle retain about 93% original blue and phosphate with even fading on the bands, barrel and receiver, a small area of oxidation at rear of receiver, and the floorplate and triggerguard show oxidation staining. The laminated stock rates near excellent with a few small scattered areas of flaking, handling marks and light dings. The bolt handle, cocking piece and sleeve are matching numbered to the receiver but the remaining parts appear un-numbered as is correct for late war rifles. The barrel is marked "(Shield) dot/45" and with two "(Circled)S" and the floorplate is marked "qnw" and the triggerguard is correctly marked "svw". The rifle is equipped with a fixed sheet metal rear sight instead of the more common adjustable rear sight. This was done at the end of World War Two and today surviving examples are hard to come by. Late War ZF-41 German K98K Bolt Action Sniper Rifle by Mauser Oberndorf

Lot # 13 (Sale Order: 13 of 718)

serial #2807, 8mm Mauser, 24" barrel with a very good plus bore that shows a few very minor pits. The metal surfaces of this byf 45 coded rifle retain 95% original blue and phosphate finishes with some minor impact marks on barrel, a 1 1/2" tool mark below right side of rear sight, fading on barrel, triggerguard and floorplate, silvering scratches on bands and minor oxidation staining on triggerguard and buttplate. The laminated stock rates very good with a few scattered dings, scratches and handling marks, crackling near butt and a 1/2" by 1" abrasion on right side of butt beneath the sling slot. The bolt handle, cocking piece and bolt sleeve are matching numbered to the receiver but the remaining parts appear un-numbered with the floorplate being properly coded "byf" and the right side of butt being marked with a correct but faint "(Eagle)/135" Waffenamt. The rifle is equipped with an original ZF-41 scope and mount with the mount being marked "duv" and "(Eagle)/214" and the scope maker marked "dow" for Opticoteshna GmbH and "ZF40 41/1". The optics are cloudy but the reticle is still visible and the barrel channel has been relieved with an 1/8" gap between the stock in the area between the rear sight and receiver; but this would be an easy fix for a good wood man. A black leather sling and rubber muzzle cap which may a reproduction are included with this rifle. An interesting ZF-41 rifle that will make a great addition to any military collection. Scarce K98K Bolt Action Rifle by Mauser Borsigwalde With Experimental Phenolic Resin Stock

Lot # 15 (Sale Order: 15 of 718)

serial #9910e, 8mm Mauser, 24" barrel with a very good bore that shows some scattered frosting in the grooves. The metal surfaces of this s/243 coded 1937 vintage rifle have mostly turned a dull brown patina with some scattered light oxidation stains and some scattered impact marks on the floorplate. The resin stock rates very good plus with partially visible "(Eagle)/H", the correct "(Weimar Eagle)/211" Waffenamt, a couple abrasions on the underside of the butt, scattered scratches, handling marks and dings. The bolt and rear sight parts, bolt stop and barrel are matching to the receiver, while the stock, triggerguard, floorplate, buttplate and front band are numbered "6964" and the rear band is numbered "6934" the aforementioned mismatched parts are all marked with "(Eagle)/211" Waffenamts for Mauser Borsigwalde and the triggerguard screws are numbered mismatched. The resin stocks were made in very limited numbers exclusively by Mauser Borsigwalde starting in 1940 and this one has the correct aluminium insert for the sling slot. The stocks were made of a hollow fabric base that was laminated with ureaformaldehyde plastic and finished with lacquer. Today very few of this stocks have survived and are exceedingly rare in private hands. This rifle and stock combination would make a great addition to the most advanced K98k or military collection. U.S. Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless Pistol Sent to the O.S.S.

Lot # 16 (Sale Order: 16 of 718)

serial #559620, 32 ACP, 3 3/4" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this very nice example retain about 97 to near 98% original blue, the loss due only to some high edge silvering, light fading on the straps and the odd tiny handling mark here or there. The checkered walnut grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions rate excellent with a couple tiny chipped points. U.S. Colt Model 1908 Pocket Hammerless Factory Modified Pistol

Lot # 17 (Sale Order: 17 of 718)

serial #M137234, .380 ACP, 3 3/4" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain about 97% original blue, the areas of loss on the sharp edges and some of the high contact points. There are some very sparsely scattered, very light handling marks here and there and a few very minute spots of very sparse oxidation. The fully checkered walnut grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions rate excellent showing only some very very light compression or wear of the points, primarily along the butt area. This arm has the Colt factory-applied "M" denoting the arm was modified by Colt for function. It was determined by both the Navy and the Shanghai police, that Colt caliber .380 Pocket Hammerless pistols had a propensity for "failure to eject" and occasionally "failure to feed" malfunctions, and the Navy returned all of their unissued pistols to the Colt factory for modification of magazines and ejectors, the Army followed suit with a number as well. All of these corrected or "modified" pistols had a capital letter "M" stamped ahead of their serial number. All the markings remain crisp and legible including the "U.S. Property" marking on the right side of frame and an off-strike U.S. Ordnance wheel stamping on the left rear of frame. The included factory letter shows shipment to the U. S. Government Transportation Officer, Springfield Armory, for the Commanding Officer, in November of 1944. Included is a single Colt magazine, correctly stamped on its base with the factory-added "M", and the frame and slide are serial numbered alike; the magazine has been lightly cleaned and its body is mostly gray. Really a very nice and rare example of these factory updated Colt Model M's. (37644-31){C&R}[Kevin Williams Collection]

U.S. Model 1911A1 Pistol by Remington Rand

Lot # 18 (Sale Order: 18 of 718)

serial #999618, 45 ACP, 5" Springfield Armory pre-WW II barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this exceptional example retain about 98 to near 99% original dark Du-Lite blue over a hasty wartime polish and bead blasted finish. The late Keyes Fibre Company resin grips with reinforcing rings rate excellent. There is the very ghost of an extremely light reassembly scratch present on the left side of the frame and there are a couple spots of some very light oxidation present, however they blend in very well with the blue, and are only noticeable under high-bright light. Included with the gun is a single M.S. Little Manufacturing Company magazine. Firing proofs, serial number and acceptance marking exhibit no evident bead blasting within the recesses and are clean. A really super example overall missing only a "kraft box" to be considered very nearly N.I.B. (37644-91) {C&R} [Kevin Williams Collection]

Winchester Model 1894 First Model Rifle

Lot # 20 (Sale Order: 20 of 718)

serial #1567, 38-55, 26" round barrel with full magazine and an about very good bore. This is a very honest and early first model 1894 rifle. The barrel and magazine retain about 25% original blue with the balance showing a smooth even brown patina. The action retains about 30% original blue finish with loss due to even thinning and with these areas bearing a pleasing smooth brown patina. The hammer and lever shows some faded original color case-hardened finish and have a pleasing appearance. The plain walnut buttstock and forend rate very good with about 70% original finish remaining and with only sparse minor handling marks. The rifle is sighted with standard open barrel sights. Interestingly this rifle comes with its original Winchester shipping crater which is stenciled on lid "F.H. MORRILL / STOCKBRIDGE, VT." as well as "FROM / WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.". The interior of the case contains an envelope with Mr. Wilson's notes stating that F.H. Morrill was a blacksmith in Gaysville, VT (very near Stockbridge) from 1883 until 1905. The condition of the crate is excellent with interior pieces showing other stenciling from other crates which were sawn and re-used to make this crate. The crate is constructed with nails but the top and bottom lids each have a screw at either end in a 3/4" recessed hole. The screws on the bottom are still filled with the tamper resistant wax filler with tiny "WINCHESTER" atop the surface of the filler. The top lid has been removed, therefore this fill is missing. This is an extremely honest rifle with what is purportedly its original shipping crate from Winchester. The included factory letter confirms the configuration of the rifle and shows receipt in the warehouse on January 11, 1895 and oddly the rifle did not ship until August 8, 1895. It is interesting to note that Mr. Wilson's home was only 40 miles from where this rifle was originally shipped 121 years ago. (17889-73) {ANTIQUE} [Allan Wilson Collection]

Winchester Model 1894 Deluxe Takedown Lightweight_Short Rifle

Lot # 22 (Sale Order: 22 of 718)

serial #255288, 30 WCF, 22" round barrel with full magazine and a bright excellent bore. This rifle has lots of special order features including the lightweight tapered 22" barrel, takedown, checkered stocks, pistolgrip and hard rubber shotgun buttplate. The condition of the rifle is excellent with the barrel and magazine retaining 97% original blue finish overall. The action retains about 80% original blue with the majority of the loss being on the belly which is gray. The takedown collar is flaked to gray. The hammer and lever show generous amounts of faded color case-hardened finish. The checkered pistolgrip buttstock and forend are of beautifully figured American black walnut and rate excellent with 95% original finish remaining and with strong checkering. The lower left tang shows a five digit assembly number while the top tang inlet shows a four digit number that is light but appears different than the tang number. With that being said the stock fits perfectly and we feel it is original to the gun. The forend matches perfectly in color and grade of wood and is the proper 8 3/8" length which is found on short rifles. The rifle is sighted with a ramp mounted beaded blade front, Marble's folding rear barrel sight and a Marble's flexible joint folding tang mounted peepsight with base that curves up over the nose of the comb with the sight itself mounted to the rearmost portion of the base. The sight was removed and there are no extra holes, the stock fits perfectly beneath the base and nose of the comb is not altered or affected in any way. Included with the rifle is a factory letter confirming the configuration and showing a ship date of August 19, 1905, as well as an original "Winchester High Power Repeating Rifles General Instructions" pamphlet. A rare, handsome and highly desirable Winchester 1894 deluxe lightweight takedown rifle. (17889-99) {C&R} [Allan Wilson Collection]
