Fine to Excellent condition - rifle - 20" rnd barrel - Saddle Ring Carbine - Exceptionally nice original oil stained walnut forend & stock, equipped with barrel band, and brass crescent buttplate with trapdoor that opens outward. - retains about 30%+ finish thinning & mottled to soft grey patina on barrel, tube magazine & lever. Receiver & buttplate retain a warm golden patina. Receiver shows handling wear to left side with cleaning striations showing on both sides. Barrel muzzle & lever show light pitting - Markings: legible- "HENRY'S-PATENT-OCT.16.1860/KING'S-PATENT-MARCH 29.1866" - serial number marked on tang under stop "CO 17018", CO being used most commonly for carbines. As per Madis - The Winchester Book 1 of 1,000 Pg. 77 - Sights: integral with barrel band/rear early type non-adjustable leaf sight - tube magazine, indented style loading port held with single screw, early plain breech bolt extractor inlet, & threaded magazine cap.
