THE BOOK OF JOB (1861) A New Translation by George Noyes, good, some wear on outer upper spine. There is also some pencil notes inside which is nicely done and you may find interesting to read. SIGNED INSIDE BY CHAPLAIN CHARLES A. HUMPHREYS from the Civil War. There is quite a bit online about this man but some interesting bits I clipped from other sites... "Humphreys came with a library of donated books which he lent out to the men.", " In July, 1864 he was invited to accompany Major Forbes and one hundred and fifty men on a scout toward Aldie and Leesburg. Mosby with about 200 men and a twelve pound cannon attacked the Union troopers at Mount Zion Church on the Little River Turnpike" Amazing piece. I cannot say whether the pencil notes are from his hand - but it's possible.
