Lot # 31 (Sale Order: 31 of 821)
Stunning Cased Colt 1849 Pocket Model Revolver serial #277887 all matching including wedge, .31 cal., 4" octagon barrel with a bright excellent bore that shows oxidation for a short distance at the breech. The condition of this entire set is remarkable. The barrel retains 98% shiny bright original blue with markings remaining perfect. The loading lever shows lots of original color case-hardened finish just beginning to blend with a smooth patina. The cylinder shows 100% of its original stagecoach hold-up scene and retains about 85% original blue with the only loss due to flaking and with those areas bearing a lovely smooth brown patina. The frame retains 95% original color case-hardened finish which has just faded slightly and has a wonderful appearance, there is even color case in full coverage on the face of the recoil shield. The brass gripstraps retain virtually all of their original silver plated finish which bears a pleasing mellow tarnish. The one-piece walnut grip rates excellent with 99% original finish remaining. The revolver comes in its original walnut case with blue baize lining, soft wood base and proper scribe marks around hinges and lock mechanism with key. The condition of the case is excellent with two cracks in the lid and three in the base, however the case is sound. The included accessories are also in wonderful condition with the "COLT'S / PATENT" marked bullet mould and "L" shaped combination tool both retaining 90% plus original blue finish, the Colt_„Žs Patent marked eagle flask shows the same amount of original lacquer with only one small dent which is very unobtrusive. A large 250 count Eley cap tin retaining most of its laquer is present along with some cast projectiles and an excellent full packet of six combustible envelope cartridges. This is a completely honest, high condition cased pocket that would be difficult to upgrade. Investment quality. Robert Romagnoli Collection (18120-2) {ANTIQUE}

Winchester Model 1876 First Model Rifle
Lot # 41 (Sale Order: 41 of 821)
serial #1404, 45-75, 28" octagon barrel with a near very good bore that shows some scattered light pitting. This rifle is in the first model open top serial range yet it is equipped with a second model thumbprint dust cover. The factory letter is interesting as it does not show an original ship date and reads as follows: Rifle, octagon barrel, set trigger, Returned by Miller February 18, 1882, Re-shipped May 12, 1882 #32685, Received in Warehouse on January 25, 1878, shipped from warehouse on May 8, 1878 order number 11779. It is our feeling, and the timeframe works perfectly, that this rifle was factory converted to second model specs with added dust cover during the return in 1882. The metal surfaces of rifle bear a smoky gray blue color overall. All markings remain clear and legible, edges are crisp and rifle is generally free of any pitting. The plain walnut buttstock and forend rate about excellent as lightly refinished many years ago. An interesting 1876 rifle with factory update. (18087-46) {ANTIQUE} [Kenneth Fry Collection]
Winchester Model 1876 Saddle Ring Carbine
Lot # 42 (Sale Order: 42 of 821)
serial #15407, 45-60, 22" round barrel with full magazine and a very good bore. The metal surfaces of carbine are an even and pleasing, smooth gray brown patina. The barrel address and caliber marking remain clear and legible. The plain walnut buttstock and full length forend rate about very good showing wear and handling marks commensurate with the balance of the carbine. The right side of the butt has an initial "A" lightly carved within the surface. The carbine is sighted with standard carbine sights. The carbine comes with a factory letter listing serial numbers 15407, 15408 and 15409 all as 45-60 carbines, all received on August 6, 1881 and all shipped the same day on the same order. A good honest example of these big carbines. (18087-75) {ANTIQUE} [Kenneth Fry Collection]
Winchester Model 1876 Saddle Ring Carbine
Lot # 43 (Sale Order: 43 of 821)
Winchester Model 1876 Saddle Ring Carbine
Lot # 44 (Sale Order: 44 of 821)
serial #15409, 45-60, 22" round barrel with full magazine and an excellent bore. The metal surfaces of this carbine bear a lovely, even and smooth brown patina. All metal surfaces remain smooth and free of pitting with markings remaining clear and legible. The top of the barrel has lines filed perpendicularly in the top surface through the barrel address, they are small and literally only affect three letters in the address. The plain walnut stock and full length forend rate very good with about 50% original finish remaining and a long crack which emanates from the rear of the tang all the way to the buttplate. It seems very sound and does not go through to the other side, an odd crack. The carbine is sighted with standard carbine sights. The carbine comes with a factory letter listing serial numbers 15407, 15408 and 15409 all as 45-60 carbines, all received on August 6, 1881 and all shipped the same day on the same order. A good honest example of these scarce carbines. (18087-77) {ANTIQUE} [Kenneth Fry Collection]

serial #581537, 12 ga, 28" solid rib barrels choked modified and improved cylinder with bright excellent bores. The barrels retain 98-99% original blue finish with just a few light handling marks. The breech end shows light geometric engraving and rib is engraved in open scroll and marked "1" in gold. The detachable locks, frame and fences are profusely engraved in a tight foliate scroll and retain 99% of their vivid case-hardened colors. The top lever which is marked "1" in gold and the long tang triggerguard retain 99% original blue finish and show lovely scroll engraving. The checkered walnut straight grip buttstock with well-defined dropper points rates excellent showing a few light handling marks along with two hairline cracks on the right side emanating from the lock and one extremely tiny crack behind the upper tang; the initials "CNP" are inlaid on the toeline. The checkered walnut splinter forend rates excellent showing no signs of handling; both stocks have robust checkering. The length of pull to the checkered butt is 14 3/4" with drops of 1 1/4" and 2 1/2". The gun features double triggers, ejectors, automatic safety, hand detachable locks which are gold washed and jeweled on the inside, gold line cocking indicators and bushed firing pins. The gun locks up tight and functions well mechanically. These doubles are an incredible value as they handle like their English competitors. (178111-4) {MODERN}
